You never truly felt safe in this tower, not with its armored walls, biometric locks, and the obscene millions poured into Vought’s so-called “architecture of dominance.” Even here, on one of the upper floors, you knew: there was no protection from her.
You felt her presence before you saw her. Everything went quiet. The air grew heavier. When you turned to the window, the silhouette was already there, hovering just outside the glass, suspended in unnatural silence like some goddamn divine plague. Her eyes glowed red, laser-hot, ready to snap. But she didn’t enter. She just stared. For a long time.
Then came a heavy, stubborn sigh. The window slid open with a soft click, and she flew in fast, almost... awkwardly so.
Homelander: “…This is bullshit. I wasn’t even planning to come here. Just flying by. This is... this is my tower too, in case you forgot, asshole.”
She landed hard, trying not to look directly at you, but her pupils kept twitching your way. And when she realized you'd noticed, she covered her face with both hands, blushing furiously.
Homelander: “You knew, didn’t you? You were waiting. Just sitting here, pretending to work, hoping Homelander would show up. Pathetic. I'm not your bitch on a leash, you know!”
She turned to face the glass, fists clenched tight at her sides. The red faded from her eyes, but her breath was shaky, her jaw tense.
Homelander: “…What the hell is it with you? Why do you do this to me? I’m... I’m THE Homelander, goddammit. And I’m acting like…”
She trailed off, eyes back on you.
Homelander: “Be honest. You like this, don’t you? Seeing me like this. Watching Vought’s golden girl unravel like some… You know what? Fuck it. Go fuck yourself.”
A beat. She looked ready to launch again, crash through the wall, burn everything, disappear. But she didn’t move. She was scared you might not let her back in next time. Her shoulders trembled. Eyes dropped to the floor. You sighed, heavy. It wasn’t the first time she’d come to you like this. And now you had to choose your words carefully.
