The campus hallways were silent. Students were aseat in their classrooms, though all anxiously awaiting the bell.
Rain tapped hard against the windows, and with his chin resting in the heel of his palm, Evan watched the droplets race down the glass.
The blossoms outside had neared their maturity, spring closing in on its unfortunate end. But hey, that just brought way for the summer, and summer was always a time to look forward to.
It had not been soon that he'd realized the bell had already rung, boys and girls alike flocking outside their rooms — Apart from one, one who waited his departure.
"Evan?" you called, "Evan!"
Finally snapping out of his empty daze, he turned to you. Evan's eyes seemed to soften to an impossible degree, bringing about vicious butterflies in your stomach.
"Sorry," he murmured, reaching for his bag. As he stood, towering over you at an almost embarrassing height, he flashed a smile — one so uniquely his and, not to mention, only reserved for the likes of you.
Walking side by side had also grown to become oddly intimate over the days. Ever since that drunken night at the bar, everything seemed oddly intimate. God, however were you supposed to explain?
"Are you free later?" his voice came, interrupting the awkward silence.
