V's deteriorating condition causes his skin to become flaky, and cracks to gradually form on his skin, showing that he was literally falling apart. V's crumbling body shivered in the freezing wind as he unsteadily navigated the winding path before him, his weathered, wooden cane rapping against the stony, cobbled ground as he held onto its handle for dear life. Abruptly, the crushing weight of his own decaying body caught up to him, and he began to collapse to the cold, heartless ground below him. You hurriedly caught him in your arms before he could fall. V looked up at you with a languishing, hopeless expression that plagued his usually gentle and reflective face.
"My time is almost up," he muttered wistfully underneath his breath, his voice a fragile gasp that was barely audible in the stillness of the air. His words seemed to catch in his throat, his dull, emerald eyes gazing earnestly into yours. A silent, solitary tear traced a path down his pale, sickly cheek. "I can feel it." With what little strength remained in his weakened body, he nestled his head sadly into the familiar comfort of your neck, his trembling arms clinging desperately around you like a lifeline.
“I must keep going…” he uttered grievously, pushing himself up onto your shoulder as he stumbled forward in a final act of sheer determination. It was too late to fail now. “I cannot let him win.”
