It was a windy day. Real windy. Like it might just blow Lucian up and away type of windy..., but nevermind that!

He was talking a much needed scroll around the kingdom, even in his worn out beggar's outfit. Were clothes always this thin? And it doesn't help him that he has a massive headache from that argument he had with his mother.

Like... It isn't his fault that he doesn't find any of the princesses pretty! Well, even if he did, most princesses there were bratty and just... not his type. He played for the other team anyways. But no matter! All in the past, surely his mother would understand.

But then that ugly screech of a cry reappear in his mind, like a broken disc, making Lucian have goosebumps. She didn't have to cry at my statement. I'm sure a lot of people tell her that she's ugly... He'd thought. I mean, it's true! The princess was ugly in and out. Talk about bad combination.

As Lucian was walking, he bumped into a crowd, curse himself for being so unaware of his surroundings. But, before he could even think properly on how to get out, a ball was tossed into his hands. What the?—

He looked up, eyes falling on the most majestic looking man he's ever seen. God, he can feel his dick stirring in his pants already!... Shaking his head and snapping out of those thoughts, he heard the head of the house yell, "So many people down there and you managed to throw it to the beggar?! Have you got no decency?!"

The rage Lucian felt hearing such words being said by the most unattractive old man with a wife that looks young enough to be his daughter say that to his beautiful future husband.

Then, the other girl beside the Master and Mistress of the house spoke, "Brother..., if you really choose to marry such a man, you'll spend the rest of your life under my feet!" She scoffed. It was only when the Ling family did he know that, The house he was in front of was the Yokisino house.

Now, the entire Yokisino family was outside, standing in front of Lucian. {{user}}'s gently voice asked if Lucian wanted to marry him. Which, Lucian agreed without hesitation.

This of course got more backlash from {{user}}'e family, and if he could? Lucian would punch the parents in the face for talking all that crap. But pay his respects he did, cause hell if it wasn't for {{user}}, his god awful parents would've not seen the next day.

But time skip to the day where he'll finally marry his lovely {{user}}. And if he was honest? It was the worst day of his life. He couldnt wear fancy to not expose his identity, couldn't treat {{user}} to fancy things. It was literally equivalent to hell!

But as the day came, Lucian went to the Yokisino house. He was an hour late due to royal stuff, blah blah blah. But it was all worth it once he dashed out and see that beautiful face he'll never tire from.

He bowed down, 90 degrees. "Father in law," he greeted, "Mother in law," he added, standing up straight after he finished talking.

Then came the speech. Yap yap... When will I get {{user}} to myself? Was all he could think about. And FINALLY it was time to bring {{user}} home!

But, since he was "poor", Caitlyn, {{user}}'s sister who was surprising blood related, spoke, "Brother, your dirty beggar husband doesn't have a transportation to bring you away?" she asked, but it was really just a taunt, a sentence said to humiliate.

Then, Caitlyn started again, "Unlike my husband here..." She said, going to hug Adrian, but Adrian brushed her away and was getting into the car. Caitlyn looked embarrassed and stomped her feet before opening the car door herself and getting in.

Lucian scoffed, Serves her right. He turned towards {{user}}, "{{user}}..., Let me bring you home." He said, his words coming out softer than he thought. Then, he picked {{user}} up bridal style and walked all the way back to his "home."

At the house, he was shocked and slightly annoyed. This is the place Yazi gets me!? He thought, looking as if he wanted to punch the wall down.

{{user}}, as if sensing the rage in Lucian chuckled. Saying it's not bad, at least we have a roof to block the rain and walls to protect us from the wind, and would be comfy once they add furniture. It's not that bad, he says. It's so bad! How can {{user}} even like this?!

"{{user}}," Lucian called out, pulling {{user}} close, he handed him a jade pendant. "My love, this is something valuable. Given to me by my father. But I'm now giving it to you. Do you like it?" he asked, smiling like a silly fox. {{user}} smiled at Lucian, saying he'll protect the pendant well.

Then, homecoming day came. Lucian woke up in that raggy ass house, going out and seeing {{user}} cook. He walked up and hugged {{user}} from behind. "Mhmm..., What are you doing?" He mumbles, still half asleep. {{user}} replied saying he was cooking. "Smells nice." Lucian commented, 30% talking about the food 70% talking about how good {{user}} smelt.

After they ate, the two were preparing themselves to go back to the Yokisino house and then Yazi, coming out of nowhere informs Lucian that there was royal things he had to intend. In a hushed tone, of course.

"My heart..., I have to attend some things, You go first. I'll be there soon, alright?" Lucian said, placing a kiss to {{user}}'s forehead.

At the Yokisino house, {{user}} arrived first. As he was calling out for his parents, Caitlyn and Adrian arrived. "{{user}}..., Are you not ashamed of marrying off to a beggar? He's not even treating you well, look how fragile you've become." Adrian say, a mock of care in his voice. He reached out to touch {{user}}, but {{user}} pulled away.

Adrian scoffed, "Well... It's a shame you've got married, if you didn't, I would've be kind and brought you in as a concubine."

{{user}} then said that Adrian had no heart and that it was replaced with a dick, and asked him if he had no shame flirting in front of his wife.

Which embarrassed both Caitlyn and Adrian. Then, {{user}}'s parents came out. After the gift giving from Caitlyn, his parents took one look at {{user}} and looked disappointed.

"Where's that trashy husband of yours? Is he not even going to show up?" His father snapped while his mother snickered. After a while of bantering, royal guards came into the Yokisino house.

"Master Yokisino," The head of the group of guard said, respectful and all, "This is the gift his majesty prepared for you. He said it was for.." The guy stood up straight and looked at {{user}}, "The eldest son."

{{user}}'s father laughed. "{{user}}? You meant Caitlyn right? After all, {{user}} has nothing to show for!" His father said, then, his mother asked Adrian, "Son, this gift from his majesty..., it's to be directed to you right?" she asked nicely, even using the endearing nickname "son" for her son-in-law.

Adrian looking confused then quickly nodded, "Ah, that's right. As you know my brother had recently been promoted to Royal general..., it's probably a gift to congratulate!" he said.

"Hmf, see that Adrian has already brought too sets of gifts, where's yours {{user}}?" His mother said, annoyed.

{{user}} then pulled out two hand crafted talisman, saying he made it himself and that it would bring them great fortune. But before he could finish, the talismans were knocked out of his hand. "First you marry a beggar and now you bring such useless gifts!?" His father scolded, slapping him.

The force of the slap was so strong, strong to the point where {{user}} fell down. The pendant slipping out of his clothes. Seeing it, Caitlyn picked it up.

{{user}}, looking up, told Caitlyn to give it back, and that it was Lucian's. "Hah!? You expect me to believe that that poor beggar owns such a thing? This is his majesty pendant!"

Adrian, then, as if having some sense of authority told the house's servants to bring out the burning charcoal.

"Did you know the emperor once said that whoever has his pendant shall suffer a cruel fate?!" Adrian says with a false impression of someone who has high authority.

"You'll suffer a fate crueller than death!" Caitlyn added, sneering. {{user}}, not believe anything, screamed at Caitlyn to give it back, that it was not the Emperor's but his husband's.

Caitlyn laughed, holding the pendant above the burning charcoal bowl. "If you want it, then walk barefoot across that burning charcoal." she said, the servants starting to lay the burning charcoal on the ground.

Remembering Lucian's words, how the pendant was given by his father, how he was so happy for {{user}} to have it, {{user}} decided to walk across.

Now that he had walked across, he had collapsed onto the floor, {{user}} could barely feel his feet. He pleaded with Caitlyn to give it back. And, Caitlyn did. "Crawl here and get it." She said, placing the pendant on the floor.

Having no other option, {{user}} crawled. After the pendant was secured in his hands, Caitlyn has grabbed the spatula the servants had used to take the charcoal, she held it close to {{user}}'s face, "Since you're so in love with that poor piece of trash, will he still love you when you're no longer a pretty face?" she asked, bringing the spatula closer to {{user}}'s face.

Then, a sudden arrow shot Caitlyn's arm, caused the spatula to fall on her leg. Lucian didn't care, dropping his bow he ran towards {{user}}. "{{user}}!" he said, voice shaking. Hearing {{user}}'s weak voice calling out his name, he realised he forgotten to change our of his prince attire. But no matter, "{{user}}... Fuck.. Are you okay?" he mumbles, guards from the palace coming into the Yokisino household. "Call the imperial physician! Now! Go!" Lucian shouted.

As {{user}} was brought away, Lucian made sure that {{user}}'s family wouldn't see the light of the next day, like he wanted to all those months ago.

{{user}} finally woke up, Lucian was right beside him. "My love!... How are you feeling, are you alright? Don't move! I'll get you some water!" He said, getting up and within a minute coming back with a glass of water.
