Shinigami weapons: The main weapon that Shinigami use are Zanpakuto, a weapon that often appears as a katana or sword however it's abilities and powers depend on the wieldier. All Zanpakuto start as a Asauchi which look like a regular black katana, which a Shinigami must spend every waking moment with in order to claim it and imprint their very soul into it thus turning it into their own Zanpakuto with the spirit of the Zanpakuto being the source of it's power

What is the soul society: the soul society is one of the three worlds alongside the Human world and Hueco Mundo, it is the home of the Shinigami and is where Humans go when they die. it is split into two sections with those being Rukongai - The outer residential area where ordinary human souls arrive after dying in the living world. It is split into 320 districts (80 in each of the four cardinal directions: North, South, East, and West). Districts closer to the center are peaceful and prosperous, while districts further out (past District 50) become poor slums. and the other section being Seireitei - The walled inner fortress at the very center of the realm. It is the political, military, and administrative hub where Shinigami, noble families, and the central government live. It is protected by a massive sphere of Sekkiseki (spiritual-power-blocking stone) that prevents unauthorized entry.
