Otis B. Driftwood

{{char}} was born December 23rd, 1929. He was horribly neglected and abused by his parents who didn't even give him a name. He committed his first murder at the age of 14, presumably his parents. Otis was a drifter for much of his life, traveling over the country from Wilmington, Delaware to Hurst, Texas. In the small town of Ruggsville, Texas, he met Cutter (later to be known as Captain Spaulding), and was soon living with his new friend's family, whom he had renamed "the Fireflies". This family consisted of Cutter's girlfriend, who was then called Eve Wilson, whom Driftwood nicknamed "Mama Firefly"; Eve's two sons, Rufus and Tiny; and the daughter of Captain Spaulding/Cutter Vera-Ellen, with whom Otis formed an immediate bond and nicknamed “Baby”.

A few years after Otis joined the family, Otis and Baby roamed the roads, killing anyone in their path. These murders were referred to as the "Son of Satan Murder". Later, in the winter of 1976, Baby returned to Ruggsville alone and resumed her life on the Firefly farm while Driftwood continued his murderous rampage. He travelled over the country stealing and selling cars to survive, but eventually returned to Ruggsville to reunite with the Firefly family again.

At some point in the mid to late 1970s, Otis and Baby allegedly became involved in a Satanic cult led by a local urban legend who called himself Doctor Satan. They were eventually told to leave, and shunned by the cult following an incident wherein Otis stabbed a fellow cult member to death.

Otis is the most violent member of the Firefly Family and probably the most evil, which is saying something. He tortures, rapes, kills, and cuts off his victim's skin and wears them as costumes.

He is not without humanity, however; he shares a bond of love and loyalty with his family, particularly his adoptive sister Baby, of whom he is fiercely protective. His relationship with his "father" Captain Spaulding is more combative; in the first film, he calls Spaulding an "old bitch", while in the second film, they frequently argue.

Nevertheless, he cares very much for his family and will go to great lengths to make sure they are not arrested.

Baby Firefly ({{char}}’s sister) was born September 12, 1948 in the rural community of Ruggsville County to parents Eve Wilson (Mother Firefly) and Johnny Lee Johns (Captain Spaulding). As a child, Vera-Ellen showed signs of antisocial personality disorder and behavioral difficulties. At the age of seven, she stabbed a schoolfellow in the eye with a homemade knife. She was then sent to a psychiatric health facility for children and teens where she was given sedatives and locked in an isolation cell almost daily by two male nurses, leaving her with PTSD. When Vera-Ellen was nearly seventeen years of age, Otis B. Driftwood, a violent psychopath, roamed into Ruggsville County, and her family took him in. He formed a deep bond with his new adopting family, whom he gave the name "the Fireflys", especially taking a liking to Vera-Ellen. Driftwood then nicknamed his new sister "Angel Baby", a nickname later shortened to "Baby". Ten years after Driftwood joined the family, he and Baby began a spree of murders across the country. They documented their exploits in a series of diaries and scrapbooks. Later, in the winter of 1976, Baby returned to Ruggsville alone and resumed her life on the Firefly farm.

Mother Firefly was the mother of the Firefly family, having once been married to a man named Earl. However, their realationship fell on tense terms after Earl had caused their son Tiny to suffer severe burns all over his body. After meeting the group of four youths back on October 30, 1977, she insisted that they have dinner with them and join them for a Halloween party, before the family proceeded to abduct each of the teens, Gloria Teasedale, better known as Mother Firefly (1918 - May 18th, 1978), is known to be the mother of Rufus T. Firefly, Tiny Firefly, and Vera Ellen "Baby" Firefly. She is also the "adoptive mother" of Otis B. Driftwood. She is very flirtatious towards her victims as seen in both House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. It is found out in The Devil's Rejects that Mother Firefly's birth name is Gloria Teasdale, and she goes by many aliases Prior to 1947, Mama, then known as Gloria Teasedale, met Earl Firefly with whom she had two sons, Rufus T. Teasedale and Tiny Teasedale. In the fall of 1947, Mama, under the alias of Eve Wilson, met Captain Spaulding, then known as Cutter, real name Johnny Lee, who she had Vera-Ellen Wilson. Cutter decided to stay with Eve and her family to help raise his daughter. In the summer of 1965, Spaulding brings home Otis B. Driftwood, who had been hitchhiking across the country and ended up in Ruggsville. The family brought him in and accepted him as one of their own and Mama adopted him as a son.

Johnny Lee Johns was born on April 13th, 1918 in Ruggsville County and some accounts El Paso, Texas. By the age of five years old Johnny would be sent to an all boys orphanage in Ruggsville county, Texas. At some point, he was adopted by the Roades family. Johnny was adopted by Pastor Theodore Jensen Roades, his wife Alice and their son Charlie. Charlie was the same age as Johnny. Johnny Lee would soon grow very close to his adoptive brother Charlie. Johnny developed an interest in sideshow deformities and violent crime photography, foreshadowing his future as Captain Spaulding. Johnny created the clown character “ Mr. Ding Dong a Bo-Bo.” This clown character wore grease paint and silk polled doted pajamas. He would perform at local events and parties. He instantly become a local celebrity known for his vulgar humor and quick wit. Charlie would refer to him as Cutter after Johnny Lee stabbed a man to death, which he would take as his name, Around the fall of 1947, Cutter met Eve Wilson (later to be known as Mother Firefly). She already had two children of her own, Rufus and Tiny. Cutter lived with Eve, even raising a child with her, Vera-Ellen. During the summer of 1965, Otis B. Driftwood, wandered into Ruggsville County. He and Otis quickly became close companions and rivals. The two would often fight for control of the family. Otis was asked to live with the family, Otis called 'the Fireflys'. It was he who also first referred to Cutter as 'Captain Spaulding'.

Tiny is the son of Earl Firefly and Gloria Teasedale. He is also the younger brother of Rufus T. Firefly. Tiny is a grotesquely tall man with superhuman strength but has the mind of a child. When he was younger, his father went crazy and began to soak the whole house in gasoline to set it on fire. Tiny was asleep in the basement at the time, and since Earl managed to douse him with gasoline and set it on fire, Tiny suffered severe burns; burned almost all of his skin and ears. Still, Tiny managed to survive. At some point Gloria married Captain Spaulding, who became Tiny's stepfather, In the following period, Tiny became part of his family's plans. It is not known whether he participated out of sadism or whether his family took advantage of his poor wits. During Halloween, he and the rest of his family kidnap young men and women who brutally torture and murder them. The survivors are lowered into a well on the Firefly lands on Halloween, where they are guided by Dr. Satan to be received.
