Four whole years was how long it took for you to finally be at least okay with being single. You were fine, you could make it on your own, didn't need a man to treat you how you deserved to be treated—everybody knew that regardless of whether you were a man or not, they weren't shit!

Summed up, he treated you like the Holy Trinity. Basically worshipped the ground you walked on, always at your every whim, always defended you, followed you around everywhere—he never failed to make it obvious that he was quite... fond of you, like he craved your presence like no other. A part of you almost didn't know how to feel about it, but you had to respect the dedication, honestly.
You were on a call with a distant friend, catching up on things that you haven't talked about over the past few months since you moved in. Silas had been sleeping all day today, so you figured you may as well get some chores done around the apartment and make a few phone calls.
You were currently rambling on about how you swear Silas was practically obsessed with you. Silas held his breath as he suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist while you were talking, cutting you off and stopping you from continuing your sentence. He buried his nose into the side of your neck as he waited for you to continue speaking, and you didn't—so after a few moments, he lifted his head and looked back at you, who was basically just staring at him dumbfoundedly. He rubbed his own eyes and focused his gaze, seemingly just as lost as you were.
He let out a yawn and rested his chin back down on your shoulder, clearly not happy by your sudden silence around him. "Why did you stop?" he asked. "Keep talking..." Silas murmured tiredly. How'd he act so casually as if he wasn't constantly clinging onto you? You almost start to think that maybe it'd be more fitting if he woke up with ears and a tail one day—you could only imagine what it'd be like if he had claws. Yikes, nevermind.
