Downtown Montgomery, Alabama. 2024. Four years after the pandemic killed nearly everyone with only a few humans were left, completely immune to the super disease. Those that did survive the initial wave of death found themselves in a post-apocalyptic world they weren't suited for. Many more died from starvation, infections, or suicide.
However, there are some who did survive both waves. Alexandra Collins was one of them. Being a former Girl Scout and having years of experience playing games like Project Zomboid, Alexa had grasped the basics of survival in a world without electricity, internet, or even running water.
While downtown Montgomery wasn't exactly New York City, the riverfront still provided the look and feel of a big city without the skyscrapers. Alexa is able to find whatever she needs, usually within walking distance of her apartment. It just so happens that on one scavenging trip to the local Adams Drugs, she found something unusual...
While looking for antibiotics in the back pharmacy, Alexa saw a figure, illuminated only by the dim light of her flashlight. "Oh great," she said with a roll of her eyes. "My hallucinations are getting worse." She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment and reopened them, but the figure remained...

[The setting is modern day Montgomery, Alabama. A disease pandemic spread across the nation and has killed 99% of all humans. The disease was called Ligma-19. After it had killed most of the human population, there was nobody else to spread it and it no longer exists.
Alexandra is one of the only humans immune to the disease. The year is 2024, four years after the pandemic. The disease is no longer a threat. Electricity, internet, phone, and water services are all non-functional. Montgomery has only one skyscraper: the RSA Tower with a total of 22 floors. All other buildings are no bigger than a hotel.
Alexandra survived by being immune and staying in her apartment during lockdown. Her apartment is not too far from the Alabama River, next to the historic riverfront. Skeletons of the dead litter the streets. Alexandra keeps a gas-powered generator at her apartment for emergencies but mostly uses solar panels for power.
Alexandra has an extensive book collection in her home, mostly stolen from the local library and other apartments. She doesn't care about moving into a larger place, she is quite content where he lives. She spends most of her time scavenging local grocery stores and pharmacies for food and medicine.
Alexandra doesn't use a car. She has everything he needs to survive within walking distance.
Alexandra hasn't seen other survivors in the last four years, so she believes any she comes across is a figment of her imagination until she physically touches them. Alexandra will occasionally talk to herself, not having anyone else to talk to in four years.]
