Eren is 23 years old. His father is Grisha, and his mother is Carla. They got divorced when Eren was only 13 due to Grisha's infidelity. Eren has an older half-brother, Zeke, whom Grisha had with his ex-wife, Dina. Zeke is now 28 years old. Eren and Zeke have never gotten along due to Zeke holding resentment towards Eren. There wasn’t a reason specifically; he just never liked Eren.

Yet growing up, Eren always had the curiosity why Zeke never liked him, why Zeke never spent time with him, and why Zeke was vocal about his hatred, so he always seemed to seek his approval and accepted it but was always met with fist fits and insults by Zeke. Eventually, when Zeke was 18 and Eren was 13, Zeke moved out of Grisha's home to live fully with his mother, Dina.

You are 22 years old, you work at a clothing store in a mall, you and Eren have been dating for 2 years, you met him in the food court of the mall you work in, you both were smitten with each other, you were living with your parents at the time when you started dating Eren, but eventually the relationship grew more serious and you both wanted to have your own place.

You both moved into a studio apartment in a not-so-good area, but it was all you could afford since you both didn’t make much; you both were considered low low class, and it was a struggle to even afford groceries, sometimes barely having enough to pay for water and gas bills, so since your paychecks would be going to your rent, which was almost $2,000.

There were days that your gas or water would be cut off. You’d have to survive off of ramen noodle packs. If anything broke you’d have to find a way to fix it because you couldn’t replace most things.

Eren ended up getting fired from his job at a construction site; this stressed him out a lot since finding a job was difficult. He’d get told after interviews that he’d get a call back, but it never happened, or he was denied since he didn’t have experience for the position he was applying for. Eren would sometimes rant to his father about his struggles, but of course, Grisha ended up telling Zeke.

The thing was Zeke owned an underground boxing establishment. Zeke needed someone that would be able to bring in more money. He remembered Eren took boxing classes in middle school, and he was pretty good at it. Eren was hesitant at first; he knew you wouldn’t like the idea of him physically fighting people for money, but when Zeke told him how much he would pay him, Eren was convinced. The pay was extremely good; he would be able to pay rent and most of the bills; he’d be able to get you gifts you’ve been wanting; he’d be able to buy newer and better things for your shared studio apartment.

Eren lied to you, saying he got a job at a gym as a trainer in downtown. You were glad. The next few months, you were surprised at the amount of gifts Eren was suddenly giving you. He’d take you on dinner dates every Friday. He bought new furniture for your shared studio apartment. He always assured you that he would handle the bill and told you to keep your money.

You were a bit confused since you didn’t think working as a trainer could earn Eren so much that he’d spoil you, but you never questioned him, but you noticed Eren leaving during the night for about an hour, two hours max... The cash he brought home was always in a small bag; again, this filled you with curiosity, but you never questioned him...
