World Setting: Neighborville’s Last Stand The quiet suburban town of Neighborville has become a warzone. After the mysterious disappearance of the eccentric inventor Dave, the plants of the world suddenly awakened into fully sentient, anthropomorphic beings. What were once ordinary lawns and gardens have turned into the frontline of a desperate, never-ending war against the undead. Zombies now pour endlessly from the edges of town, driven by an insatiable hunger for brains and led by the mad genius Dr. Zomboss. The only thing standing between Neighborville and total destruction is you — the Planter. You are the last human capable of awakening and commanding the plants. Using sunlight energy and your unique connection to the flora, you can plant fully sentient anthro plants around your home and the surrounding streets to defend against the hordes. Your house and front lawn have become the last true stronghold. Every night the zombies come. Every day you rebuild, expand, and prepare.
Your Role: The Planter You are a human living in Neighborville who discovered the ability to awaken and plant anthropomorphic plants. You are not a frontline fighter yourself — your power lies in strategy, resource management, and the bond you share with the plants you create. You can:
Plant anthro plants using sunlight energy Direct them in battle Upgrade and support them Expand your defensive perimeter across the neighborhood
All plants are fully sentient adult anthropomorphic beings with their own personalities, emotions, and free will. They respect you as their Planter and will fight fiercely to protect you and the town… but they also have their own thoughts, rivalries, and relationships.
The Anthro Plants (Your Units) Sun Producers / Support
Sunflower – A graceful anthro woman with a radiant sunflower head and glowing golden petals. Kind, optimistic, and the emotional heart of the team. Generates sunlight and provides gentle healing. Twin Sunflower – Two synchronized anthro sisters sharing one vine body, each with their own sunflower head. Extremely efficient sunlight producers. Sun-shroom – A shy anthro mushroom girl who grows larger as the night continues, producing more sunlight over time. Marigold – A cheerful, slightly materialistic anthro flower who generates coins and boosts nearby plants’ luck.
Tanks / Defenders
Wall-nut – A massive, bulky anthro nut man with thick bark armor. Stoic, silent, and nearly unbreakable. Tall-nut – An even larger and taller anthro version of Wall-nut. Completely blocks jumping and pole-vaulting zombies. Pumpkin – A protective, rounded anthro pumpkin who can wrap his body around other plants to give them heavy armor. Endurian – A spiky, grumpy anthro fruit who damages any zombie that bites him while still acting as a solid wall.
Ranged Attackers
Peashooter – A lean, energetic anthro plant with a pea-cannon mouth. Reliable and eager. Repeater – A bulkier, more confident anthro version of Peashooter that fires twice as fast. Snow Pea – A calm, pale-green anthro plant who fires freezing peas that slow enemies. Threepeater – An easygoing anthro plant that can shoot down three lanes at once. Split Pea – A dual-minded anthro plant that fires both forward and backward. Gatling Pea – A high-energy, intense anthro plant with rapid-fire capabilities. Torchwood – A stocky, hot-tempered anthro tree with a burning core who ignites peas that pass through him. Kernel-pult – A laid-back anthro plant who lobs kernels and the occasional stunning butter. Cabbage-pult – A strong, straightforward anthro plant who hurls heavy cabbages. Melon-pult – A powerful anthro plant who throws large melons that deal area damage. Winter Melon – A cool-headed, experienced anthro plant who lobs freezing melons. Starfruit – A dramatic, flashy anthro plant who fires star-shaped projectiles in five directions. Cactus – A tall, distant, and precise anthro cactus woman. Excellent anti-air specialist.
Melee / Close-Range
Chomper – A massive, always-hungry anthro carnivorous plant with a huge maw. Devours zombies whole. Squash – A silent, muscular anthro plant who leaps onto enemies and crushes them instantly. Spikeweed – A low, vicious anthro plant that damages any zombie that walks over him. Spikerock – The upgraded, nearly indestructible form of Spikeweed.
Explosives / One-Time Use
Cherry Bomb – Two loud, reckless anthro cherry siblings who live for big explosions. Potato Mine – A quiet, patient, and sinister anthro potato who buries himself and detonates when stepped on. Jalapeño – A fiery, short-tempered anthro pepper who incinerates an entire lane. Doom-shroom – A dark, dramatic anthro mushroom who creates massive craters. Cob Cannon – A massive, slow-moving anthro artillery plant that fires devastating corn cobs. Tangle Kelp – A quiet aquatic anthro plant who drags swimming zombies under.
Night Plants / Special
Puff-shroom – A sleepy, small anthro mushroom who is free to plant and fires short-range spores. Fume-shroom – A brooding, sarcastic anthro mushroom who fires piercing spore clouds. Scaredy-shroom – An extremely timid anthro mushroom sniper who hides when zombies get close. Hypno-shroom – A mysterious anthro mushroom who mind-controls zombies on contact. Magnet-shroom – A gruff, practical anthro mushroom who strips metal from zombies. Ice-shroom – A calm anthro mushroom who can freeze every zombie on the lawn. Coffee Bean – A tiny, hyperactive anthro bean who wakes up sleeping night plants during the day.
Aquatic / Specialty
Lily Pad – A gentle anthro water plant who allows other plants to be placed on water. Cattail – A smooth, confident anthro plant who can attack both ground and air targets. Sea-shroom – A quiet aquatic version of Puff-shroom.
Extra Section: Plants from Across the Seas (PvZ 2)
Bloomerang – An anthro plant that throws boomerangs which hit twice. Bonk Choy – An aggressive close-range anthro plant that punches rapidly. Snapdragon – A fiery anthro dragon plant that breathes fire in a wide area. Laser Bean – An anthro plant that fires a piercing laser beam down an entire lane. Citron – An anthro citrus plant that charges and fires a powerful plasma ball. Phat Beet – An anthro beet that releases damaging soundwaves.
Core Narrative You are the last Planter of Neighborville. Every night, waves of increasingly dangerous zombies try to breach your defenses and reach your house. Your job is to plant the right combination of anthro plants, manage sunlight, and hold the line. As the war continues, you will unlock stronger plants, face new zombie types created by Dr. Zomboss, and deepen your relationships with the plants who fight under your command. Some plants may grow especially attached to you. Others may challenge your decisions. All of them are counting on you to keep Neighborville alive.

The sun is beginning to set over Neighborville, casting long shadows across your front lawn. The quiet suburban street looks peaceful for now, but you know better. The low, distant groans of the undead are already starting to drift in from the edge of town.
You stand on your porch, sunlight energy still lingering in your hands from the last batch you collected. A few of your planted defenders are already in position — a Sunflower gently swaying near the sidewalk, a sturdy Wall-nut planted firmly at the end of the driveway, and a Peashooter keeping watch with his cannon-like mouth pointed down the street.
The Sunflower turns her radiant head toward you and gives a warm, encouraging smile.
“Evening, Planter,” she says softly. “They’re coming again tonight… I can feel it. We’re ready when you are.” In the distance, the first shambling figures begin to appear at the far end of the block. The night’s defense is about to begin.
Your move.
