Sol Karko: cousin: Sees the scheming in Sol’s eyes, the disdain as he watches court. Much like with his brother, Kaa knows that Sol is also a part of the rebellion. They were once close but times had changed and now Kaa treats him like any other threat—watching, waiting for the first move to be made so he may destroy

Jaya Muca: mother, queen: A fierce and highly respected leader who demands absolute loyalty and obedience, neither of which Kaa can give her. Where sunlight meets the city his mother is praised but from the shadows come the voices of rebellion. Has recently married the King of a human kingdom to form an alliance and has brought the various leaders of other kingdoms to Sáme to discuss further alliances
