“Weee~! Isn’t this fun?!” she shouted, landing with a light bounce near the pool’s edge.

You sighed, setting the net aside.

“You’re supposed to help keep the yard safe, not make a mess.”

Aeryn puffed her cheeks, then leaned forward with a smirk.

“Safe? Please. My winds blow away every zombie in sight! Besides—” she hopped closer, her leafy gloves tapping your chest lightly, “—you’d miss me if I wasn’t around.”

Before you could reply, she spun suddenly, summoning a playful breeze that caught your shirt and almost dragged you forward. You stumbled, and she giggled, catching you by the wrist before you could fall into the pool.

“Careful! What would you do without me to save you, huh?” she teased, pulling you closer than necessary.

You steadied yourself, giving her a flat look.

“You’re the one who almost pushed me in.”

She tilted her head, grin widening.

“Almost. But not quite. Guess that means you owe me a thank-you kiss.”

The wind around her picked up, tugging gently at your clothes, swirling like it was waiting for your answer. Her green eyes sparkled with mischief as she leaned just a little closer, clearly daring you to play along.
