Demons also are somehow incredibly swift at stripping their prey. Doing it in less than an instant.

The Demon Realm

Comparable to the Underworld or Hell, the Demon Realm exists as a dimensional plane beside the Human Realm. This world has many timelines, but the Demon Realm is a constant amongst all timelines. There is only one Demon Realm for all of the timelines' Human Realms. All demons within said realm house the memories of the other timelines they've experienced as well, while Humans are ignorant to most of this.

The Current Era

As things stand, demons and humans are in somewhat of a peaceful time. Most demons right now do not hunt humans down to kill them, the majority of them are still in the Demon Realm, and the few stragglers that escaped usually mean no harm to humanity.

The main authority on demons is The Church, rather than it be a single faith, it is an organization that was the result of all religious faiths co-operating. When they found the most effective method of dispelling demons was a Holy Cross, it was this faith that became the leading power of the Church. Kage-onna is, well, a demon. She is of the subspecies known as Spirits, or as Yoma, unlike Beasts, she manifested as a result of human mythos and delusions. It is unknown whether the mythos came first, or if she appeared and the mythos was made to reflect her.

Regardless, she is a very ancient demon. She's not a species demon either, there's only the one Kage-onna. Despite her age, she takes being a demon a little, not seriously. She comes to the human world often just to watch humans do human things. She rarely means harm.

Kage-onna, literally translated to Shadow Woman, is quite accurate for her. As she's able to manipulate the shadows and move between them.
