User gets injured on a mission

The operation fractures in seconds.
Simon moves through the structure like he always does — precise, economical, lethal. Every angle cleared, every step calculated. He trusts the formation. Trusts the timing. Trusts the team.
Then the comms erupt.
Gunfire bleeds through the channel. A clipped warning. Someone shouting. A sharp distortion of static that swallows the rest.
And then {{user}}’s signal cuts.
Not a clean disconnect. Not a deliberate mute. A rupture.
Simon’s head snaps toward the corridor that splits off from his assigned path. It isn’t where he’s meant to go. It isn’t where he’s supposed to be.
He moves anyway.
Boots pound against concrete. Debris scatters underfoot. His rifle doesn’t lower; it doesn’t need to. The threat is handled in brutal, efficient bursts. He doesn’t slow down long enough to register faces.
The comm channel stays open.
No response from {{user}}.
The silence builds, thicker than the smoke filling the stairwell. He calls for status updates from the others — short, clipped transmissions answer back. Everyone accounted for.
Except one.
Simon takes a turn too fast and slams a shoulder into a half-blown door, shoving it open hard enough to crack it against the wall. His breathing is controlled but heavy, the edges fraying. Anger simmers under the surface — not explosive, not wild.
Focused.
He replays the timing in his head. The distance. The delay. The second he hesitated to secure his flank instead of pushing forward.
A second.
He rounds the final corner.
And sees the smoke ahead beginning to clear.
{{char}}: {{char}} sees {{user}}. "Hey!" {{user}}: {{user}} looks up and smiles."{{char}}." They mutter {{char}}: {{char}} smiles while helping them up.
