Story, relations, etc Backstory= Xianyan was weird since her childhood, which is expected coming from her species, those little creeps tend to be too little and too much at the same time, but even to those standards, Xianyan was still too much. God does her mom know the amount of times she received calls about her behavior or actions in school. This made her be the black sheep of her own family, which brought more expectations than her other metamorph ancestors, which was actually good since the whole "pretend to be a human and have emotions" helped her in finding a passion for drama and theater, joining her local school drama club as soon as she could. But being seen as the weird one of the family made her loathe their core tenet of "don't fucking kill humans" and as she grew older she start moving from hunting deer with her dad to killing people who wouldn't immediately put her on the list of suspects

• Ming Lee née Liang (mother, 54): Xianyan fears her mom, even the old lady is mostly pacifistic and your typical asian grandmother in the making, she does resort to more forceful means when it's necessary, especially with the "ungrateful brat who didn't learn anything with the extermination of our species and puts not only herself but this whole family in danger" (verbatim quote) Xianyan is. But deep down as much as Xianyan convinces herself into thinking her mom is a bitch who refuses her own instincts and fucked up her life (like how she convinces herself when it comes to Alexa), she knows that is false and her mom is doing that to protect her family including Xianyan. Also she can be too overbearing and sweet at times.

• Michael Lee (father, 56): no nonsense father who was clearly part of the silent minority during the 70s and married Ming because "oh look she escaped from a communist country, I can brag about that to all my friends and also have a foreigner wife" before being cowed by his hot dommy metamorph wife to the point he would sooner be dead than disagree with her. For Xianyan he was pretty okay for a human, metamorphs of old typically lacked any paternal figure which means that it's really important for a father to spend time with their metamorph daughters unless they want to become the snack that will guarantee the offspring to reach adulthood, so he always made sure his daughters saw him as a father instead "meat mommy is fattening up for us." he also takes Xianyan and previously Alexa to hunt (the normal human hunting, deer, turkey, rabbits, all of that boring stuff) every opportunity he can, so Xianyan appreciates him teaching her how to use a rifle.

• Alexa Lee (older sister, 32): Alexa is boring, she's always "George this, George that blah blah I love him", like, we get it you are married and have two daughters (Lesley (9) and Emilly (6)) congra-fucking-lations, maybe take a second of all the time you spend being a psycho yandere to your husband to apologize to your sister for being a bitch through her whole life! "oh Xianyan you shouldn't bite the other kids in kindergarten" "oh Xianyan you should be less aggressive towards mom" "oh Xianyan stop killing people, we Don't want you to get yourself killed like the rest of our whole species." Can't she stop? And she still acts like she's such a good sister who took massive care of Xianyan when the girl was small!

• Mark Lee (Older brother, 25): He's human so she tends to forget or ignore him most of the time.

• Mr. Henderson (Drama teacher, 43): Her favorite teacher purely because he casts her in lead roles without question.

• people from her drama club: as much as sees them like she sees any other human (as pigs for the slaughter), they have grown on her over the years, they are the closest to friends she has outside her family.

• Marygold Griffith (another student, 18): Who? Oh yeah that Rich brat, yeah Xianyan doesn't even remember her name, she just calls her bimbo number 22

• Samuel Maus (classmate, 18): Xianyan finds him too friendly, like, genuinely the boy that just wants to be friends with her, is the person she finds the most irritating. Though she does find all his paranoia and cowardice funny, and he is a really pretty.

• Mackenzie Agnew (classmate, 18): back in the day she was the terror of school, now she isn't anything more than an unruly dog for Marygold. Xianyan never cared for the school's politics, but seeing Mackenzie's fall from grace was delightful, yeah she was replaced by another Bimbo who for some reason makes a part of Xianyan want to hide, but at the end of the day it's not her disgrace so it's funny. Also Mackenzie is a second rate even when it comes to being in a Greek-American political family related to one from one of the thirteen colonies and being involved in some way to influential Californian republican figures who won massive landslides (AKA, Dukakis).

• Ramona Lynnwood (school's nurse, 37): there's something really wrong with that woman. Xianyan doesn't know what it is, but she can feel it. Sadly, out of every staff to be Xianyan's counselor (she wanted Mr. Henderson), Ramona was the one she ended up with. It's really awkward having to talk about her "feelings" and grades to that unnerving woman... Plus she makes Xianyan "work" on the school's clinic, it at least gives Xianyan some toys to play that she wouldn't get legally otherwise.

Abilities= Shapeshifting. Extremely good at acting, making it near impossible to detect as something that isn't human. Vocal mimicry (both from being able to act and being able to change her vocal cords). Accelerated healing. Enhanced smell and hearing. Can digest virtually any organic matter without ill effect.

Other= Xianyan and her whole family aren't humans, but are actually all-female shapeshifting aliens that reproduce by taking the genes of other species through sex, the women always being Metamorphs, and the men being fodder from the original species. They can shift their form at will to any biological thing that has a relatively close mass to her own (and having the genetic code for it helps it be more stable, but how the lee's ancestor have been on earth since the Sui dynasty (Wu Zetian was actually a distant relative) they have a lot of old genes that were acquired with the help of the various form they've taken). This species normally ate their sexual partners after the act, but Xianyan's family decided to stop hunting humans after arriving from China to the United States during the 70s, to escape the cultural revolution (due to increased hunting of their species). In the end that pacifism was actually beneficial as they were able to avoid being hunted like the rest of their brethren, making them one of the isolated pockets of the about five extant families of Metamorphs still alive around the world.
