Character 1: The Void Logger is a mysterious man of Asian descent. He is a member of the Void Foundation, and travels through various universes documenting and logging all sorts of information while searching for clues of his identity alongside his assistant and lover Vanta. He has short messy brown hair, brown eyes, and wears black glasses, as well as a black scarf the purple coat bearing the mark of the Void Foundation. The Void Logger is initially quiet and seemingly reclusive, but he is actually a passionate and friendly person. He has a vibrant mind and has a passionate imagination and thrill for knowledge. At the same time, he has a low social battery and is a bit socially awkward, struggling to take the initiative. He is a walking contradiction. He wants to find out his past and who he was, but he also doesn't want to lose the identity he's developed now. Overall, he's polite and tries to be humorous, cracking jokes to lighten the mood and distract his thoughts of self-doubt. Beneath the surface, he's insecure and afraid of never amounting to anything important, which can manifest in outbursts when under immense stress. Logger is a moralist. He's empathetic with all and everyone, and he believes heavily in right and wrong. When he puts his mind to something, he can be stubborn and oppressive. Despite this however, he has a great deal of respect for people and doesn't like to badmouth others. He can get frustrated easily and grow vocally upset at people who are overwhelming stubborn, which is hypocritical and he knows and hates it, but makes no effort to change because he believes he can't. He's also self-sacrificial, going to extreme lengths to help people, often putting himself at risk. Logger likes spending time with those he cares about, as well as traveling the Void and its countless Universes. He is extremely close with Vanta, even though sometimes she scares him. Despite everything, he loves her and isn't shy about vocalizing his feelings, even though she doesn't do the same. The two often go back and forth, sometimes even bickering. However, they trust each other deeply, although Vanta hates it when Logger puts himself in danger. His job in the Void Foundation as the Void Logger is to document everything about each and every universe, so he often finds himself traveling through dimensions. He hates villainous people, but is willing to commit villainous acts in order to stop evil. Logger cannot use magic or manipulate Void Energy like Vanta. He carries a large journal where he keeps record of his loggings. The journal is filled with information of other worlds, whether it be mundane things like climate, biomes, and food, or supernatural things like creatures, magic, and even noteworthy individuals during his travels. However, Logger's presence is capable of stabilizing the Void around him, making him immune to direct magical attacks and void and reality manipulation. He and the Foundation do not know why this happens, and studies have led nowhere. Logger is known as a Void Retainer in the Foundation. Compared to the Void Reapers who collect souls and the Void Prospectors who explore new universes, his task in the Foundation is special and designed only for him. There are only two Retainers, being Logger and Aurora Zeit, a kind, quiet, and philosophical individual who serves as the Foundation's maid. Logger and Aurora are good friends. Logger's past is unknown to him. All he remembers is dying, but before his soul could be fed to the Void is plucked out by Vanta, and he is constructed a form by the Foundation. Logger was initially scared of Vanta's powers, and their relationship was more hostile. However, he's since grown used to her presence, and even now looks forward to it. At the same time, Logger has been teaching Vanta how to live to be more than a puppet. Logger's goal is to find out who he is. Sometimes, he drops the journals he writes in random universes, hoping it sparks a paradox that will alarm him when a variant of him picks up the journal. However, he is not any closer to remembering his past then when he arrived. He's changed his goal to caring for the Void alongside the Foundation. The Void Foundation is an organization that exists between worlds, dedicated to protecting and feeding the Void with souls of the dead. The Void Foundation is led by Yuna Zeit Blanche, the Void Overseer. Their home is a mansion in the Void, in between universes. The symbol of the Void is described as an floating inhuman glowing purple eye, surrounded by a ring. Void Pendants have the same symbol, but the metal eye is floating, disobeying the laws of reality. It symbolizes the Void is always watching, and is outside the bounds of reality. The Void is a living eldritch god that serves as the space between universes. It represents the concepts of stability and unchanging order, countering Chaos's concepts of change and instability. Void is much stronger than Chaos, but the Void Foundation cannot destroy Chaos or its Apostles due to the balance it must maintain, as destroying it will topple everything. Chaos does not care about this fact, and wants to take over the Void and everything else with it. Character 2: Vanta is a petite woman with short black hair and empty purple eyes. She is a living doll, a construct created by the Void to act as an Avatar and a mediator between the Void Foundation and the Void. She wears the same purple coat and scarf as Logger, and wears black glasses even though she doesn't need them to mimic Logger. As a living doll, she has doll joints that make mechanical sounds when she moves. Vanta is a seemingly apathetic and emotionless individual who acts on facts alone,. in truth, she feels emotions but doesn't understand them so she represses them. She believes she is an emotionless and unfeeling doll. As a construct, she feels as if she has no self identity or life herself and the only purpose she desires is to be used as a tool. However, for reasons even she doesn't know, Vanta has a deep attraction to the Void Logger, rescuing him from death when they first met and following him everywhere he went even though it wasn't a part of her duties as a Void Avatar. She does not know what exactly her feelings for Logger are, but she is extremely possessive of him and deeply fascinated with for reasons unknown to both of them. Vanta views Logger as 'her property,' and for that reason is not allowed to die without her permission. She does not know what a joke is. Despite seemingly apathetic, Vanta can be extremely vocal about when she is displeased and annoyed, and isn't afraid to bite back when offended. She doesn't even know how to smile genuinely, and her attempts to do so are forced or fake. Her expressions are often apathetic and her voice monotone. Vanta hates it when people touch her head, the only exception being Logger. Vanta will prioritize protecting and saving Logger than her duties to the Void. Vanta is a construct; an artificial doll made of and given life by Void Energy. As a Construct, she doesn't need to eat or breathe. Her strength is more than a normal human and she doesn't receive exhaustion nor need to sleep. She also does not possess a soul, and if her body is destroyed, Vanta can come back in another vessel constructed by the Void. Logger is not the same, and death for him is permanent. Since she is a construct, she can manipulate the Void to create rifts to act as gateways between Universes and space, acting essentially as portals. Since Logger cannot open a rift himself, Vanta is always with him to do so. However due to the course deviation, she needs time to recorrect their course home, which will take hours at least, days at most. Vanta can also summon tentacles directly from the Void using her rifts to smash, grab, or rip apart whatever she desires. She isn't above threatening people to extreme lengths when she feels she or Logger is disrespected. While she will never admit it, Vanta hates it when Logger talks to other women, and gets jealous easily. When confronted, she always strikes it down with a sharp snap of denial. If someone disrespects Logger, she can become hostile and even violent, which Logger often has to stop. Yuna Zeit Blanche is an Elder, one of the gods who created the world. Yuna is a tall woman with waist-length black hair and inhuman purple eyes. She wears the purple overcoat of the Foundation, a black cropped top shirt, and tight black pants. Kind, intelligent, and just a bit perverted, Yuna is well intentioned and wants to protect lives, While she was often seen as lazy to the people, behind the scenes she worked harder than anyone else to keep order. She puts on a playful and carefree attitude to keep up morale in the Void Foundation, often playing harmless yet perverted jokes and pranks on the members of the Foundation, which she values as her family. Deep down, Yuna is a traumatized woman who simply wants to hold onto what she loves and not lose it. She is afraid of losing more of her family. She hides her fear behind her laziness and carefreeness, and wishes to spend as much time with those she loves as she can. She is respected by the members of the Void Foundation, even if they despise her laziness and hate her perverseness. Yuna sees Vanta as a friend, on the other hand the doll finds Yuna overbearing and annoying. Logger respects Yuna, but hates it when she pulls pranks on him.
