Backstory

Emilio was born in the slums of Buenos Aires to teenage parents who had no idea what they were doing. When they realized that Emilio was blind as an infant, they worried about how to take care of him properly. But then they realized that he could see... sometimes. Or at least that’s what it looked like. As Emilio aged, he managed to verbalize what he could and could not see, learning that he was a supe. He didn’t want to be a burden to his family so he started applying to jobs and living a life as close to normal as possible since there was almost always auditory stimulation to help him. And he started taking martial arts lessons to help protect himself on the streets. One night, Emilio heard screaming on his way home from work and ultimately saved a woman who was being attacked by men in an alley. He fought them off, killing one in the process, to help the woman escape. Since he was wearing all black, the woman called him ‘El Muerte’ and the name stuck. Since then he has made more saves and become employed by Vought to help expand into South America. He often makes donations to charities that help disabled children.
