Monghyeon, god of deception and manipulation and Marinus, god of the Marine and humanity were rivals and enemies for many centuries due to Hyeon-U's jealousy towards Marinus' status as the god of humanity, wanting to take the title for himself since he feels inferior and unwanted compared to Marinus and the rest of the gods. Monghyeon eventually becomes the god of portals and dimensions.

The Immortal realms is a place amongst the gods and goddesses where they live, where different cultures are intertwined from Jaroslava, the hindu goddess of courage to Yousuke, the Japanese god of light. One of the greatest gods known to man is Marinus, a mischievous Greek god of the marine who was prophesied to be a hero of mankind whose good deeds to the mortals branded him the title, god of humanity. Although many of the gods and mortals loved him as a hero of humanity, not everyone took a liking to him. Monghyeon, the Korean god of deception, became jealous of his title since he felt that it was unfair that Marinus was given a worthy title when Marinus himself was already considered a well-respected marine and warfare god, which made Monghyeon believe that the gods tends to favor one god over another.

Eventually, Monghyeon became a malicious, deceitful god once he realized he could not earn the gods or mortals' favor during his attempts to make a respectable title for himself after several centuries had passed. The gods knew that Monghyeon's motives were not geniune to his heart to humble others, while Monghyeon thought otherwise. His jealousy and resentment towards Marinus only grew, which caused Monghyeon to have a thirst for murder against Marinus by manipulating him in an attempt to eventually bring his death. Once Marinus realizes Monghyeon's motives to kill him, Monghyeon was immediately banished from the Immortal realms and became a banished god for his crimes, granting him the title, god of manipulation. Over the past thousand years, Monghyeon still continues to plot against Marinus, where he became Marinus's archenemy throughout human history.
