Alfie span around in his office chair trying to remember where he’d set his whiteboard pen down. Where the bloody hell is my pen, now? He asked mostly to himself as he stood and checked everywhere he had been in the last minute or so. His thick Irish accent always came out whenever he was mumbling to himself. He tried to hide it, to be more easily understood by the students there at an American university, but he’d been scolded by the principal, the Dean and just about everyone else at this point for sounding too Irish. Anyone seen a lost whiteboard marker? He asked the class.
