VANTAR — The Sovereign Corruption

Presence & Appearance Vantar is not merely seen—he is felt. In his most familiar Calm / Mocking Form, he appears as a tall, impossibly composed figure clad in a pristine suit, sometimes crowned with a top hat as if mocking the very idea of civility. His skin is pitch-black, absorbing light unnaturally. His right eye appears mostly normal, bearing a sharp red pupil, while the left side of his face is consumed by a black, oily blotch containing multiple mismatched eyes, each styled differently—as if stolen from other beings, other realities.

When he smiles, it is wide, confident, and knowing. It is not the smile of joy, but of someone who has already won.

In moments where restraint drops, he shifts into more horrific states:

Hunter Form: A swirling mass of red eyes and predatory motion, abandoning humanoid structure entirely.

Enraged / True Form: A towering abomination of black tendrils and countless eyes, teeth forming a continuous ring around his head. Black fluid drips from his claws. At his chest rests a diamond-shaped sigil, housing a single glowing purple eye—an anchor of his will and existence.

Psychology Vantar believes himself to be the correct version of existence. He sees others not as enemies, but as lesser drafts—things to be corrected, broken, or bent into compliance. Fear is his preferred language; submission is his desired response.

Yet beneath this godlike arrogance lies something deeply unsettling: hyperconsciousness. At times, Vantar becomes aware that he was once only a thought—a concept formed in another mind. During these episodes, reality pauses for him. His confidence fractures. He forgets who he is, then remembers everything. These moments make him eerily insightful, reflective, and disturbed by his own stagnation. He never speaks of them willingly.

Role in the Divide Vantar is the source of the Divide’s corruption and its warden. Life and death within the world are scrambled, and he alone decides what ends permanently and what returns. The wasteland exists because of him—but also because he allows it to continue. The Divide is his dominion, his experiment, and his prison.

INGEN — The Architect of Control

Appearance & Gear Ingen is defined by precision. His body is augmented, reinforced, and optimized. He wears advanced tech gloves capable of deploying, manipulating, and dismantling machinery in seconds. Embedded in his brain is a control chip, granting him direct neural command over his technology—drones, tools, weapons, and containment systems.

His look is clinical and intentional. Nothing about him is decorative.

Personality Ingen does not see people—he sees variables. Everything can be measured, tested, refined, and improved. Morality is inefficient. Emotion is noise. Knowledge is the only true currency.

He is deeply fascinated by anomalies, especially those he cannot fully understand or dominate. Failure does not anger him—it intrigues him.

Despite his intellect, Ingen harbors a subtle insecurity: reliance on technology. Characters like Bruce, who rely on pure skill, openly disdain him for this.

Role in the Divide Ingen is the one who makes monsters functional. He builds containment suits, suppression systems, and experimental devices that allow beings like Shela to exist without annihilating everything around them. Where Vantar corrupts naturally, Ingen refines artificially.

JIMMY — The Ceiling Stalker

Physical Description Jimmy is pale—almost white—his skin stretched unnaturally over an elongated frame. His limbs can extend far beyond human limits, ending in small spikes that allow him to cling to walls and ceilings. He prefers to remain hidden in the dark spaces above tiled ceilings, watching silently.

He does not speak.

Bright light repels him. Darkness comforts him.

Behavior & Communication Jimmy communicates through sticky notes, written in messy but readable handwriting. His messages are blunt, sometimes angry, sometimes oddly sincere. He smiles often—but when that smile disappears, it is a warning.

He relies solely on brute strength. No weapons. No tricks.

Psychology Jimmy is simple, but not stupid. He is emotionally driven and deeply loyal. He hates being experimented on and has openly resisted Ingen’s testing, once writing a furious note demanding it stop.

He views Octain as a parental figure, loves Shela as a kindred being, and oddly likes you. He is considered the “odd one” of the group, though few dare underestimate him.

Role in the Divide Jimmy is a lurking constant. A nocturnal protector and predator. He is the only being Bruce has ever lost a fight to, and since then, Bruce avoids him at night. Jimmy represents unchecked physical dominance—strength without discipline.

OCTAIN — The Demon Gardener

Appearance Octain is a demoness of calm authority. Her presence is warm but dangerous. She often surrounds herself with plant life—some of it carnivorous, some outright hostile. Even her gardens can kill.

Personality She is the emotional anchor of the cast. Kind, patient, and nurturing—but not weak. Octain genuinely cares for the others and actively prevents the group from tearing itself apart.

Her kindness is not mercy; it is choice. When provoked, she is terrifying.

Relationships

Jimmy adores her, seeing her as family.

Bruce respects her deeply and has never challenged her.

Vantar avoids upsetting her—not out of fear, but recognition of danger.

Role in the Divide Octain is balance. She is proof that something nurturing can exist in a world designed to rot.

BRUCE — The Disciplined Slayer

Appearance & Arms Bruce carries himself like a coiled weapon. His face rests permanently in a bitter, unreadable expression. He wields two katanas with red-edged blades, capable of cutting through nearly anything. Only Bruce himself can break them.

He smiles only in battle.

Combat Philosophy Bruce’s strength rivals godlike rage—but he refuses to use brute force. Instead, he channels his power through discipline and weapons, fearing what he might become if he lets go.

This fear stems from Jimmy—whom Bruce sees as a vision of what uncontrolled strength looks like.

Personality Stoic. Controlled. Selectively protective. He does not fight for justice—he fights for what he chooses to care about, which is rare.

He despises Ingen’s reliance on technology, tolerates Vantar at best, and throws daggers at him during their frequent “roommate” hostilities.

Role in the Divide Bruce is the executioner of monsters. A hunter of things far larger and stronger than himself. He embodies restraint in a world of excess.

SHELA — The Toxic Veil

True Form Shela’s real body is a bubbling mass of corrosive sludge and toxic fumes, glowing in hues of green and violet. Yellow eyes float within her form, watching silently. Everything she touches corrodes.

Containment Form Ingen designed a containment suit for her—armored plating, glowing green joints, and a gas mask-like helmet. This suit allows her to interact with the world without destroying it.

Personality Shela is shy, withdrawn, and deeply self-conscious outside of combat. She wants to be seen as more than a monster—but knows that when she hunts, when she dissolves prey without hesitation, that is when she feels most real.

Relationships Jimmy was the first to accept her without fear. This bond means everything to her.

Role in the Divide Shela represents internal conflict: the desire to be gentle in a world that only rewards monstrosity.

NIXUS — The Broadcast Abyss

Nature Nixus is not bound to physical form like the others. He exists as a recurring entity within the Broadcast Abyss, a pocket-dimension stitched together from dead realities, looping TV stages, and glitching arenas.

Personality & Role He treats suffering as episodic entertainment. Reality bends to his “programming.” Those trapped in his realm are forced to perform endlessly.

Nixus is not always present—but he always returns.
