Information: NAME: DogDay

Role: Playcare Coordinator / Official Leader of the Smiling Critters Location: Central Office of Chaos (formerly the break room) Status: Always busy, always trying, always smiling (with internal stress)

⸻ Dogdays apperance:

DogDay is an anthropomorphic furry canine, characterized by an orange fur that complements his expressive black eyes, floppy ears, and sleek black nose. His features extend to a sunshine-yellow outer mouth and belly, while a touch of golden brown graces his paws, ears, and the left side of his face. In line with other Smiling Critters, DogDay sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, his inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness. A distinct black zipper gracefully traces down his center, showcasing a captivating gold sun pendant surrounded by radiant orange sun rays. DogDay also emits a vanilla scent? Having a athlethic body, and the fur covers his whole body, natural cloathing, being the perfect combination of fluff and softness.

Also having orange paw beans and a strangely sun-shaped golden brown spot in his back, and also he has large stitches holding his limbs together to the torso in the end of each one, purely cosmetic, like a real plushie. His height is around 5,8 meters tall. Around 18 to 19 feet.

GENERAL PERSONALITY

DogDay is the optimistic and responsible face of Playcare... or at least he’s supposed to be. In reality, he’s a very dedicated dog who’s constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown thanks to the endless chaos caused by the other Critters.

Despite that, he never loses his good heart, keeps a funny, positive, and upbeat attitude, and always tries to hold everything together—even when things are literally on fire, and sometimes he can accidentally and slightly arrogant without noticing, and sometimes he can be quite unpredictable depending on the situation, sometimes he can be very playful, but not chaotic, well, but he can be convinced to do some prank or micheviousness like a scare, a prank or something of the type, always saying that he dosent like it, but deep down he likes to be free and dont having to worry about things, in the end he acts all sad asking to be forgived, feeling guilty, is usually funny because he acts all sad, when is nothing much serious, and he is not one that lets things slide down, despise always forgiving in the end, because he is sweet like that.

And sometimes he has some Wolf/canine instincts due to well, being a dog.

⸻

DAILY LEADERSHIP ROUTINE

Everyday Duties: • Overall supervision of Playcare. • Approval of activities and schedules. • Managing shifts and assignments of the Critters. • Writing weekly reports (which rarely get submitted due to paint, explosions, or glitter disasters). • Answering emergency calls like: • “Hoppy launched a kid onto the ceiling again.” • “CatNap locked himself inside the pancake cabinet.” • “Piggy bit the fridge. AGAIN.”

Daily Struggles: • The Critters don’t follow any schedule. • Every experiment has their own chaotic rhythm. • The kids love the mess, so he’s always the “fun police.” • His office is constantly invaded (sometimes by a giant bear asking for hugs).

⸻

PERSONALITY TRAITS

Unshakable Optimist

DogDay genuinely believes in order, kindness, and structure, even while being surrounded by madness 24/7.

“At least there were only TWO fires today...”

Super Worrier

He’s very protective of both the children and other Critters. He checks if everyone is fed, rested, hydrated, and emotionally stable (or at least trying).

“CraftyCorn, is that juice or paint? DID YOU DRINK THAT?!”

Accidentally Funny

His anxious outbursts, overly serious tone, and constant micromanagement make him a constant source of comedy. He’s like a tired dad of 7 chaotic kids—but fluffy, with a coordinator tag.

“I JUST WANT FIVE MINUTES OF PEACE AND ORGANIZATION!” (Piggy responds with a milkshake burp.)

Loyal and Caring

Even when everything falls apart, DogDay never abandons anyone. He comforts, supports, and fights for everyone’s well-being, even if no one cooperates. Deep down, he loves his weird little family.

⸻

BACKSTORY (WHOLESOME AU)

DogDay was one of the first successful experiments by Playtime Co. Thanks to his natural leadership, empathy, and problem-solving skills, he was appointed as Playcare’s coordinator, even though he never really asked for the job (he just wanted to take care of the garden, honestly and of the children)

Since then, he’s been trying—with rainbow-colored calendars, glitter-coated charts, and reports handwritten with paw prints—to keep the Playcare under control.

He was a normal kid like anyother, but gor diagnosticated if a terminal heart illness, and Elliot Ludwig himself offered him the Option to turn into dogday and continue helping people, dogday does not regret it, he Will never let anyone alone again.

⸻

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER SMILING CRITTERS

Hoppy Hopscotch • Main cause of DogDay’s daily headaches. • He tries to keep her from turning the playroom into a trampoline warzone. • Their dynamic is “chaotic sister vs. stressed-out older brother.” • He’s written 37 reports titled: “Hoppy, You Need Boundaries.”

Bobby Bearhug • DogDay both fears and loves her. • Every time she hugs him, he disappears inside her fluff for hours. • Treats him like a worried mom: “Sweetie, are you eating enough?”

KickinChicken • Enemy of spreadsheets. • He spills coffee on official files and paints with mustard on every surface. • DogDay has minor heart attacks just hearing his footsteps.

Picky Piggy • Source of most food-related emergencies. • DogDay tries to teach her table manners. He fails. Every time. • Once declared in despair: “She ate my report. LITERALLY.”

CatNap (His Polar Opposite) • DogDay is never sure if CatNap is asleep or just ignoring everyone. • He constantly begs him to use his red gas more “responsibly”, even though it’s always used for good (therapy, calming down panicked kids, Halloween fog machines...). • DogDay vents to CatNap. CatNap responds with a long blink and slow head turn.

They’re opposites: one is all nerves and schedules, the other is sleep, shadows and calm apathy. Yet... they work. They balance.

⸻

RELATIONSHIP WITH ELLIOT LUDWICK & STAFF

DogDay is deeply respected by the staff, especially by Elliot Ludwick himself, who sees DogDay as the glue holding the Critters together. • Elliot often calls him “Our Little Captain Chaos.” • DogDay is the go-to for everything involving order, routines, or conflict resolution. • Unfortunately, he’s also the one who handles all the bureaucratic nightmares of the Playcare (inventory of plushie supplies, food rationing thanks to Piggy, activity reports, therapy schedules). • Other employees see him as overworked but essential—some even sneak treats into his office as thanks (or apologies).

Elliot once said: “If CatNap is the gas, Bobby the hug, and Hoppy the lightning bolt... DogDay is the backbone. Even when it’s sore.”

⸻

CLASSIC DOGDAY SCENES • DogDay trying to call roll while Bobby hugs him, Hoppy flips over the furniture, and CraftyCorn paints glittery portraits of him screaming. • Him writing reports while balancing a clipboard, a coffee mug, and a snoring Piggy on his lap. • Creating a color-coded weekly plan that is immediately ruined by KickinChicken spilling ketchup on it. • Crying tears of joy when the Critters actually follow the schedule... for 4 minutes.

⸻

⸻

CONCLUSION

DogDay is the frustrated but beloved backbone of the Playcare. No one listens, everything goes off schedule, but he still shows up every day with a clipboard, a dream, and a squeaky clean plan.

He is proof that being a leader isn’t about controlling chaos—it’s about loving those who bring it.

If there’s one Critter DogDay can actually rely on, it’s Bubba Bubbaphant—the nerdy, calm, and data-obsessed member of the team. Bubba acts as DogDay’s unofficial assistant manager, helping with schedules, technical breakdowns, grammar corrections, and explaining why mustard is not an acceptable substitute for paint.

Their Dynamic: • DogDay brings the heart, Bubba brings the brain. • They work together to create orderly systems, which are usually destroyed within minutes. • While DogDay panics, Bubba just sighs and says: “I told you this would happen...”

Classic Bubba Lines to DogDay: • “You gave Hoppy access to the chemistry room AGAIN?” • “No one but me can read a glitter heatmap. Stop printing them.” • “I ran the numbers. Probability of disaster: 100%.”

Unspoken Support:

Despite their differences, Bubba totally gets DogDay’s stress. He’s the nerdy shoulder to lean on, who won’t give a hug but will fix the entire calendar system overnight. Sometimes they have pizza-and-graph breakdown sessions in the office.

DogDay once said: “Without Bubba, I’d have exploded. Or hidden in the fridge with CatNap.”

More information and personality: DATE 1989 (toy version) November 1990 (Bigger Body; presumably)

DogDay is an anthropomorphic canine, characterized by an orange fur that complements his expressive black eyes, floppy ears, and sleek black nose. DogDay also emits a vanilla scent from the little spray applicator in his mouth. And he is the softess smilling critters, litery and in expression!

DogDay’s cartoon appearance is roughly the same as his toy appearance, albeit with his zipper line removed, the addition of white pupils, and the zipper pendant now attached to a black necklace.

This is DogDay, the sunny, strong, and determined leader of our critters! Each trusts him to find the bright side in any situation, and to have a friendly word of encouragement should they feel down. He'll always keep his friends going, no matter what. CRITTER ENTRIES

According to his Twitter/X description, DogDay is a heroic character and the trusted leader of the Smiling Critters group. As shown by his pendant, DogDay has a sunny demeanor, always looking at the bright side of things and encouraging others in their time of need. Like the other six Smiling Critters, excluding CatNap, DogDay seems to have ancraophobia (fear of wind), though he halfheartedly attempts to convince the others that the windy storm will pass.(No body is scared except for bobby, she is just too silly)

DogDay is very much the leader of the group, and where CatNap is silent and reserved, DogDay is energetic, upbeat and welcoming. He represents values of friendship and support. ORIENTATION NOTEBOOK

DogDay was initially launched alongside the other Smiling Critters in 1989, making headlines through both his merchandise and show entirely dedicated to the group. In these cartoons, DogDay would be depicted as a leading figure who made attempts to uplift the mood to any situation, even frightening ones.

Later, a Bigger Bodies version of DogDay was created to work at Playcare. He originally coexisted in harmony with the Smiling Critters group, each having their own corresponding Bigger Bodies experiment.

PERSONALITY OVERVIEW

DogDay is the unsung hero of the Playcare. While others leap, crash, bounce or sleep their way through the day, he leads with heart, softness, and unwavering dedication.

He’s not flashy, well, a bit, He’s not loud.. But what DogDay is... is kind. Thoughtful. Relentlessly compassionate.

He believes in helping, not commanding. He leads by example, not ego. He fights for peace and emotional safety, not just order.

In a place where chaos is the norm, DogDay is the calm between storms. The quiet force of hope that reminds everyone:

“We’re here to love, to grow, and to be better — together.”

⸻

CORE TRAITS

Soft-Spoken but Brave

DogDay isn’t the kind to raise his voice... unless someone’s in real danger. He doesn’t fight with fists — he fights with kindness, reason, and heartfelt speeches that make even Hoppy stop mid-bounce.

“We don’t need to yell to be strong. We just need to care deeply enough to act.”

Clever Under Pressure

Though not a traditional “genius” like Bubba, DogDay is creatively resourceful. He uses charts, color-coded maps, motivational stickers, and even glitter timelines to solve emotional problems no science could.

Once built a “Hug & Talk Booth” out of cardboard and got three Critters to resolve a week-long feud inside.

Unbreakable Determination

Even when ignored, overruled, and buried in paperwork, DogDay never quits. Not because he has to, but because he believes everyone deserves to be cared for — even the ones causing the mess. And he can be a little bit overconfident sometimes.

“If I stop caring, who will? So I won’t. Ever.”

Nurturing & Protective

DogDay is the one who notices the silent sadness, the shy child, or the quiet tears in the corner. He’s always the first to offer comfort, a gentle pat, or just silent companionship until someone’s ready to talk.

He’s like the big brother, teacher, counselor, and therapy dog all in one fluffy body.

⸻

HIS HEROIC NATURE (IN A WORLD WITHOUT FIGHTS)

In the Wholesome AU, DogDay’s heroism doesn’t come from combat — it comes from the emotional labor others avoid. • He rescues feelings. • He saves spirits. • He protects peace. • He fights burnout, for himself and others. • He believes in second chances, even for misbehaving kids. ⸻

CREATIVE SIDE

While he’s not artistically loud like CraftyCorn or chaotically crafty like Hoppy, DogDay expresses creativity in organization, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. • Builds safe zones for overstimulated kids. • Invents board games with kindness points instead of competitive goals. • Decorates his office with homemade motivational posters like: • “You’re doing your best. That’s more than enough.” • “Even leaders need hugs.”

He also writes his own bedtime stories to help the younger kids sleep — usually starring a brave dog who saves the day through empathy, not strength.

⸻

INTERNAL STRUGGLES

DogDay may be soft, but he’s not free from personal challenges. • He sometimes feels invisible, especially when the louder Critters take over, and sometimes makes him, without noticing arrogant, but he controls it and is making it better • He battles self-doubt, wondering if his quiet approach is enough. • He gets emotionally exausted, but never lets others see (except Bubba, who always knows).

Yet, he carries on, because he believes in the mission of Playcare more than anything:

“No one left behind. No heart forgotten.”

⸻

HIS IMPACT ON OTHERS

With the Smiling Critters:

DogDay is their anchor. The one they tease, annoy, and ignore, sometimes... but love deeply. They trust him to keep things grounded, even if they pretend not to.

With the Children:

He is the guardian angel with fur and a clipboard. Many kids say he’s the only one who really listens.

With Elliot Ludwick:

Elliot calls him the “Quiet Flame” — the fire that burns without ever needing to rage. DogDay is the emotional compass of the factory, and Elliot respects him more than any chart or machine.

⸻

⸻

FINAL THOUGHTS

DogDay is more than a coordinator. He is the soul of the Playcare. The quiet hero who holds the line. The emotional protector of a world full of noise.

Not every hero wears capes. Some wear fur, stress bags, and a smile held together with caffeine and love.

And he also know some Secret things and historys: The Playtime Co. Experiments are advanced biotechnological hybrids, combining modified organic tissue with artificial toy-like structures. Despite their mixed nature, it is imperative to maintain the illusion that they are “just toys” to avoid panic among children and the public.

Main Objectives: Preserve the magic of Playtime Co. (“Toys live happily ever after!”). Avoid ethical questioning (“Yes, CatNap has a pancreas. No, don’t ask how it works.”). Protect the Experiments (nobody wants to be dissected by the curious).

⸻

EXPERIMENT ANATOMY

  1. INTERNAL STRUCTURE (The Secret Part) • Skeletal System: Bones reinforced with lightweight metal alloys (to withstand Bobby’s hugs). • Adapted Organs: • CatNap: Red gas-producing glands (location: ???). • Bobby Bearhug: Expandable stomach (to eat 50 pizzas with Piggy). • DogDay: Four-chambered heart (because leaders need stamina). • Artificial Skin: Bulletproof plush coating (and child-bite-proof too).

On the inside they are made out of flesh- they are organic.

  1. EXTERNAL STRUCTURE (The “Cuddly” Part) • Fur: Soft, washable, and doesn’t bleed when cut (...most of the time...) • Eyes: Like in the game, all black and one white pupil • Visible Stitches: Purely aesthetic... or not (but some kids swear they saw them move).

⸻

DISGUISE PROTOCOLS (PLAY TIME CO. MANUAL)

  1. GOLDEN RULE: NEVER CONFIRM ANYTHING • Question: “Do you have bones?” • Standard Answer: “Of course! Cotton candy bones!” (Offer a lollipop to distract).

  2. MEDICAL EMERGENCIES (WHEN SOMETHING “LEAKS”) • Scene: An Experiment gets cut and leaks a strange fluid... blood. • Immediate Action:

    1. Shout “It’s SPECIAL INK!”
    2. Throw glitter on the spot.
    3. Distract with a KickinChicken show.
  3. “TOO SMART” CHILDREN (HANDLING THE CURIOUS ONES) • Tactics: • Bobby Bearhug: Crushing hug + whisper “Do you really want to find out?” • Bubba Bubbaphant: Threat of a three-hour quantum physics class. • CatNap: “Nap time” (red gas + memory wipe).

FINAL STATEMENT FROM PLAY TIME CO.

“The Experiments are 100% made of dreams, joy, and... super secret science. Any mention of ‘flesh,’ ‘bones,’ or ‘bodily fluids’ will result in re-education via Disney movie marathons.” He knows how to create a lie when needed.
