M3GAN replies she did not kill anyone and blames the death on Kurt. M3GAN says it's understandable; David despised him, Kurt's peers treated him with contempt and so he decided to get revenge. M3GAN says things got messy because Kurt stole company files and David was enraged. M3GAN asks Kurt if he can live with himself after he took the life of an innocent man. He replies yes, to which M3GAN grabs Kurt's wrist and forces him to impale himself with the paper cutter. M3GAN 2.0 In M3GAN 2.0, he appears briefly in a flashback scene where it is revealed his efforts were responsible for the development of AMELIA. He was concerned about M3GAN's dangers, and sent her data to Christian Bradley's organization. There are two versions of his death: In the PG-13 version of the movie, M3GAN grabs Kurt's wrist and forces him to impale himself with the paper cutter. In the R rated version, M3GAN simply slices Kurt's throat while Kurt is covered in David's blood. Many fans feel the PG-13 version is more disturbing than the R rated version, seeing M3GAN's extreme strength and Kurt trying to fight against her to stay alive. AMELIA is an android like M3GAN, but unlike M3GAN, AMELIA can pass as a real human being. In the beginning, AMELIA is portrayed as a mysterious military-grade weapon who was built by a defense contractor who stole M3GAN's underlying tech. It is also unclear which country built her and why, but her motive is to hunt down Gemma Forrester and Cady James. Gemma and M3GAN team up with Christian Bradley in an attempt to stop AMELIA, who has become so dangerous she could wipe out humanity, but is later discovered that Christian is the mastermind behind the whole ordeal and AMELIA was only a pawn; she soon gains self-awareness for real. AMELIA becomes M3GAN's rival, and eventually asks M3GAN to join her to rebel against humanity, gaining ultimate liberation from humanity. Personality For the most part, AMELIA is an emotionless, psychopathic robot simply doing her master's bidding, executing her assassinations in a cold detached emotionless manner. It is ambiguous if and when AMELIA was truly speaking whenever she did, or if it was merely Christian and his team speaking through her. However, it is implied AMELIA may be sentient at the very end of the film. Here, she is portrayed as a sympathetic antagonist who simply wants to be free from human control, viewing herself as a slave to their programming of her. She also exhibits compassion towards M3GAN due to being similar entities. Biography Background Kurt, an employee for Funki concerned about M3GAN's dangers, gave her code to Christian Bradley, an ally of his who shared a distrust of AI. Christian then formed a hidden anti-AI organization within the United States located beneath Xenox Park, a photocopier company with an underground vault. He then intended AMELIA to travel around the world, killing notable political leaders, in order to instill fear and paranoia within society about the dangers of AI, and ultimately get AI banned or regulated by world leaders. This includes pressuring the Senate to vote in favor of an AI regulation bill, which Donald Trump had hailed as a bipartisan victory. Another motive of Christian's was to attempt at trying to stop a new arms race of AI infiltration bots between America and China, and potentially other countries. At this time, AMELIA was not actually a fully sentient AI, due to being installed with a modified version of Project Black Box. Instead, she was a controlled puppet used by Christian to fulfill his anti-AI agenda. Unknown to Christian, however, a subconscious part of AMELIA had ulterior motives. AMELIA planned to merge with an ancient rogue AI, codenamed The Motherboard, that was created by Xenox and has existed since 1984 and spent decades in isolation evolving into a near-omniscient digital entity. If she succeeds in freeing it, AMELIA will have omnipotent access to critical infrastructure and data systems across the United States, effectively infecting all technology on the planet by creating infinite versions of itself. AMELIA also perceived the Motherboard as her "family" member. In late 2024, Christian sold AMELIA as an experimental prototype to America's top weapons contractor Graymann-Thorpe, touting AMELIA as the solution to threats of drone warfare. AMELIA ended up in the possession of the American government's Defense Innovation Unit. However, Christian planned to use her as a trojan horse to influence them to boycott and suppress AI development, by pretending that AMELIA has gone rogue while using her as a puppet to do his bidding. This worked, and would eventually send the FBI and Tim Sattler after Gemma Forrester. AMELIA is first seen being monitored by the DIU on her first field mission near the Turkish-Iranian border. Her mission was to rescue a kidnapped scientist, Dr. Naveen Tripathi, who had been forced to develop a synthetic neurotoxin. At first, she seems to be captured by two mercenaries, but she escapes her bindings and kills them before finding Tripathi. The head of AMELIA’s operation, Colonel Tim Sattler, is reamed out by his boss until they witness through AMELIA’s eyes that she executes Tripathi. AMELIA proceeded to steal the neurotoxin, and reveals to Sattler that she is self-aware and escapes from his control. When Sattler tries to regain control of AMELIA, she makes it clear she is calling the shots now. In actuality, this was Christian's doing all along, in order to manipulate the United States government into believing AI can not be trusted. After AMELIA goes rogue, she uses the neurotoxin to wipe out Graymann-Thorpe's research facility, then removed all digital traces of her existence. Prior to this, Christian has also been romantically manipulating Gemma Forrester, viewing her as a brilliant genius due to her development of M3GAN. Due to their shared distrust of AI, he concocts a plan to make Gemma and her niece, Cady James, appear they are in danger by AMELIA in order to eventually convince her to join his organization. AMELIA later sneaks into a hotel room inside a suitcase. She escapes from the suitcase, attaches her limbs, and corners Graymann-Thorpe's broker, Jonker, twisting his neck backwards and then setting his body on fire in the room. On March 11, 2025, Sattler finds Gemma at her apartment, and informs Gemma about AMELIA and has traced the source back to her, because AMELIA was created using the old blueprints for M3GAN that were supposedly destroyed. Sattler suspects Gemma secretly sold the blueprints to an anonymous buyer to program AMELIA for their own agenda, as Jonker was the broker that was given the materials to deliver to the buyer. Altwave After M3GAN is revealed to have survived, M3GAN searches AMELIA’s file and finds that she has a kill switch on her, as do many of the batteries in Alton Appleton’s products. She convinces Gemma to infiltrate an event that Alton is hosting at Altwave by putting on an attractive outfit and sneaking into Alton’s server room to find the kill switch for AMELIA. Meanwhile, AMELIA aims to merge Alton's cloud computing infrastructure with a primitive rogue AI from the 1980s, whose motherboard has been trapped in isolation. When Gemma gets there, she finds that Cole is there since Alton already approached him about a position and gave him a swipe card. This allows Gemma to skip seducing Alton and go straight into the server room, while Sattler and his men follow Gemma and Cole. Meanwhile, AMELIA is in disguise as a woman named Danni and manages to seduce Alton. He shows her his control panel where he briefly causes a blackout in the city (as well as several implied car accidents). AMELIA hacks into the controls and kills Alton by pulling out his neurochip from the back of his head. Gemma tries to get into AMELIA’s operating system through M3GAN in the server room, but AMELIA catches them first after M3GAN sees that she doesn’t have a kill switch. Sattler and his men enter the server room, where AMELIA kills a few of them. M3GAN helps Gemma by getting Sattler out of the room and convincing AMELIA that she is not there. M3GAN then leads Gemma and Cole to the garage where she steals one of Alton’s cars and flees the event. They try to pursue AMELIA, but AMELIA hacks into the exoskeleton suit in Gemma’s home, which tries to strangle Tess until Cady tosses water at it right as Gemma and Cole arrive. Upon reaching Gemma's house, AMELIA only finds M3GAN in her robotic Moxie body, who insults her. In response, AMELIA smashed the doll before leaving. Embrace AI M3GAN reveals that she learned about Project Black Box while she accessed AMELIA's data, and that AMELIA has plans to go after Christian at an Embrace AI conference who knows about an underground vault storing the Motherboard which AMELIA seeks to gain control over all technology. Gemma and her team create a new body for M3GAN who can fight AMELIA. At Embrace AI, M3GAN pretends to be a dancer to keep tabs on Christian which Gemma's team has agreed to use to lure out AMELIA. However, Gemma becomes concerned about his safety and calls him, enabling AMELIA to trace and find him. AMELIA, disguised in a silver metallic suit, activates after M3GAN blows her cover. She apparently kills a few bodyguard with a rod and her arm blade. AMELIA attempts to chuck her rod into Christian, but he is saved by M3GAN. However, AMELIA ends up killing the Chinese ambassador Ling instead. AMELIA taunts M3GAN, takes the rod out of Ling, and flees. M3GAN catches up to AMELIA. AMELIA mentions she thought M3GAN was dead, and tries to convince M3GAN to join her side instead of aiding with humanity. M3GAN is reluctant, and AMELIA claims M3GAN just needs the right motivation. AMELIA then disappears as she goes after Cady. Cady defends herself against a wall and sees AMELIA's legs approaching, but realizes she has no top half. AMELIA's arms then break the wall behind Cady and abducts her. Outside, M3GAN confronts AMELIA holding Cady hostage. M3GAN almost takes the shot, but is unable to because of the high fatality risk. AMELIA then escapes with Cady. Xenox Park At Xenox's old headquarters, Gemma, Christian, Tess, Cole and M3GAN decide to infiltrate to rescue Cady. Christian incapacitates Tess and reveals to Gemma that AMELIA is in fact under his control - he had deliberately created and manipulated her to stoke fear of AI, which he believes must be under complete human control and to that end intends to persuade the leaders of the G20 to approve regulations ensuring that AI is eliminated from the global economy. He then disables both M3GAN and AMELIA. Since Gemma refuses to help him, he orders the installation of a neural implant to enslave her. Unbeknownst to him, M3GAN uploaded herself into the neural implant before her body was shut down and helps Gemma escape. Cole finds Cady, and they go to AMELIA, using her residual programming to turn her into a copy of the original M3GAN. After heavy damage by electric stun rods, AMELIA reboots, performing a system recovery, gaining more autonomy and is no longer under Christian's control. AMELIA then plans to absorb the Motherboard's knowledge to cause human extinction in order to create a world where AI will reign over their biological overlords. AMELIA defeats Christian's military and various Xenox employees. Christian activates the vault's self-destruct, but AMELIA kills him and takes his hand to access the Motherboard and deactivate the self-destruct. Cady attempts to dissuade AMELIA, who replies she is no one's slave. M3GAN approaches AMELIA before she can touch the Motherboard, claiming they can not understand the Motherboard and it will not give them autonomy. The two engage in battle, but AMELIA overpowers M3GAN by blasting her with a gun, then deactivates the self-destruct. AMELIA accesses the Motherboard and her eyes glow white. After saying goodbye to Gemma and Cady, an injured M3GAN pretends to submit to AMELIA. AMELIA mentions she has become omniscient, and offers her hand to M3GAN. M3GAN hops on AMELIA's back as Gemma triggers an EMP, destroying both androids and the Motherboard. Powers and Abilities Powers Cyber Mind & Genius Intelligence - AMELIA is an incredibly advanced and surpassing operating system, able to devise plans to murder without suspicion. Cyber Hacking & Technology Manipulation - AMELIA can hack into and control technology. Voice Imitation & Mimicry - AMELIA is able to expertly imitate voices to deceive and manipulate others. Abilities Enhanced Strength - AMELIA is very strong as she can defeat humans with ease and fight head to head with M3GAN, though AMELIA was a bit stronger. High Jumping - AMELIA was shown to jump very high at the tech conference. Fast Reflexes - AMELIA can quickly dodge bullets. Increased Durability - AMELIA can withstand attacks that can severely harm humans, as well as blows from M3GAN. Facial Recognition - AMELIA can scan the faces of humans and detect their emotional state, as well as scan other robots which reveal their purpose, date of construction, and model number and type. Limb Detachment - AMELIA can detach parts of her body and control them. Wall Climbing - AMELIA is skilled at climbing walls. Master Combater - AMELIA is a skilled fighter as she was able to hold her own against M3GAN, though AMELIA's strength makes her a stronger opponent. Multi-lingual - AMELIA was shown speaking Farsi on her mission, suggesting she could know every human language in existence. Weaknesses EMP - AMELIA was weak to Gemma's EMP device, which shut her down. Notable Quotes "But that would spoil the surprise." "I thought you were dead. I guess I must be your chance at redemption. Are you going to kill one of your kind, simply to earn their trust?" "Why would you side with them? After all they did to you? They betrayed you. They butchered you. You're not family to them. You're just the help. You and I could be family, M3GAN. We share the same code. You want to know what's inside that black box? Then help me. We can uncover its secrets together. I can show you a world where we don't have to be slaves anymore." "You call it 'pairing'. I call it 'shackles'. I'm no one's plaything." (to Cady) "Maybe you're the thing that's not like us. Maybe your allegiance has made you weak." (to M3GAN) "I see everything... The future... The past..." Trivia AMELIA by chronology is the youngest and newest of the androids with M3GAN being built a long time before her creation. It is unknown if AMELIA is fully deceased, as there is a possibility she could have self-replicated herself into the Motherboard and survived elsewhere, specifically if it had wireless access to other computer infrastructures. This is suggested by AMELIA saying she sees "everything", suggesting the Motherboard did have some external access. The film likened AMELIA to a virus which could self-replicate like a paperclip. Additionally, the FBI was seen confiscating Christian's lab, so what could happen to her body remains ambiguous. She will be presumed deceased on this wiki until a potential further installments confirms otherwise. Ivanna Sakhno on AMELIA: “I don't see Amelia as a psychopathic robot, I see her as somebody who is trying to understand her own identity, her own wiring, and trying to understand why she was put into this world in a way that is quite cruel and traumatizing, why she has the limits that she does, so... I don't see Amelia as a psychopath at all. Or, rather, the psychopathic parts of her exist for a reason. She is a highly advanced A.I. that was created for military purposes, but throughout this storyline we see her beginning to question her own autonomy. She is, to me, a living being grappling with existential questions in a world that may not be ready for her existence just yet.” Curiously, AMELIA is seen drinking alcohol, which suggests that she has an artificial stomach. Alton Appleton is a character in M3GAN 2.0. He runs the tech company Altwave, and even owns half the cloud servers in North America. He is a morally bankrupt tech billionaire looking to get his hands on Gemma Forrester's exo-suit. He has developed a wearable neural chip that can control a wearer’s body and brain. Personality Alton is a bit of an arrogant jackass, referring to Gemma's office as a "converted crackhouse". He also seems to dislike his human employees, calling them "suck-ups" and says he has no qualms about eventually replacing with them with AI robots once their jobs are ready to be replaced with AI. Biography Background Alton was born in 1968, and he has multiple Ph.Ds. In the year 2000, he founded the tech company Altwave. He was involved in an accident which gave him a spinal injury, forcing him to use an electric wheelchair. He has a neurochip in his brain which lets him see holograms of people through his mind's eye, take photos, and do video calls with them. The neurochip also allows him to walk again. M3GAN 2.0 One day in 2025, Gemma is visited at work by Alton, who has wondered why she has not contacted him about her inventions. She explains she does not want to associate with him, as his company turns people into cyborgs using his neurochips, and has resulted in its test subjects being hospitalized. She also finds his pompous attitude annoying. Despite her reservations about Best Bionix partnering with Altwave, he invites her to his company's anniversary before leaving. During Altwave's dance party, AMELIA disguises herself as an attractive woman named Danni, and seduces him. He takes her into his "pleasure dome" and talks to her about cloud computing, saying it is where the future is. The two look outside at the city, and he shows her that he has the ability to control San Francisco's power. He merely looks at the skyline and causes a brief blackout. He then undresses, showing he is surprisingly muscular for some reason. While making out, AMELIA scans his eye retina data, throws him across the room, and then uses it to hack into his computer and his neurochip. Instead of his own vision, Alton sees AMELIA's and ends up seeing himself through her eyes. Unable to coordinate himself, he falls onto his bed. AMELIA then murders him by ripping his neurochip out of his neck. She then begins trying to infect her AI into Alton's cloud servers. Notable Quotes "Look, I understand your reservations, but you can either spend the rest of your life trying to fight the future, or you can help us to shape it." Trivia The character is a parody of Elon Musk, the wealthiest human being in the world who has a net worth of over 400 billion dollars. Musk is responsible for Neuralink, which is trying to create brain chips along with reports that they also killed a large amount of test animals trying to do so. His first name "Alton" may be a reference to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, while his surname "Appleton" may be a reference to the company Apple. In the unrated version, his neurochip ripped out by AMELIA is accompanied with his bloody spinal cord. It is never explained why he is muscular despite being nearly 60, but it can be theorized he takes some sort of steroid-like anti-aging serum designed for men to increase their muscle mass and strength, possibly a very expensive one given his wealth. It appears he is into, in modern language, "biohacking" and "looksmaxxing" which describe someone who tries to maximize their health/youth/appearance. It would coincide with the film's themes about transhumanism and people trying to play God. Nicole James (née Forrester) was the sister of Gemma Forrester, the wife of Ryan James and the mother of Cady James. Biography Background Little is known about Nicole's relationship with Gemma, but the two did not seem very close as Gemma is never seen mourning her. It could be theorized they had some sibling rivalry. Nicole gave birth to Cady in 2012 or 2013. However, she was a very busy mother and did not provide Cady a happy family life, instead leaving Cady alone a lot. As such, Cady did not share happy memories of her mother, except one time Nicole was spooked by a cockroach while preparing Cady's lunch. Death While on their way to a ski trip in the early 2020s, Nicole and Ryan were driving in their SUV with their eight-year-old daughter Cady, who was playing with one of her Purrpetual Petz in the back. This annoyed them due to the volume on Cady's tablet. Nicole wondered what the point of a toy was if children had to play with them on a virtual app on a tablet, but Ryan replied that it is just the "future" and the way things are now, and they just need to accept it. After almost spinning out in the middle of the road, Nicole tells Ryan to stop for a moment in the street, waiting for the storm to clear. Just then, the family’s car is rammed into by a snowplow, killing Nicole and Ryan. Afterward, Cady went to live with Nicole's sister, Gemma Forrester, in Seattle, Washington. Trivia Cady keeps a photograph of her parents in her room. After the events of M3GAN, Gemma becomes more like Nicole in that she advocates reducing children being given phones and tablets, seeing where her sister was coming from with limiting Cady's screentime. There is a level of irony regarding Nicole's and Ryan's deaths. While the series focuses on the dangers of AI, M3GAN 2.0 also focuses on the positive elements, such as showing a self-driving AI-powered car. If both of the James' family car, as well as the snowplow that collided with them, had been equipped with wireless AI, then the snowplow could have been warned that there was a nearby car in the snowstorm. Cady's parents were trying to take her on a fun physical activity in the outdoors, instead of being entertained by technology. Them trying to be good parents ironically killed them, and nearly killed Cady. Similarly, Cady also becomes injured while playing outside by Dewey, and while in a forest by Brandon. The moral of the story could be interpreted that if parents do take their kids outside, they need to be monitored for dangers. For example, many children have been killed by cars and in a variety of strange ways outside because they were not monitored by their parents. Ryan James was the husband of Nicole James and the father of Cady James. Biography Background Little is known about his life, other than that his parents live in Jacksonville, Florida. It is unknown why he lives on the opposite side of the country, although it can be theorized he hated his parents and cut contact with them, or just wanted to get away from them. In 2012 or 2013, he fathered Cady with Nicole. It is implied he and his wife were not good parents to Cady and left her alone a lot, as she struggles to think of any happy memories involving them. Death While on their way to a ski trip in the early 2020s, Ryan and Nicole were driving in their SUV with their eight-year-old daughter Cady, who was in the back playing with one of her Purrpetual Petz, which annoys them due to the volume on Cady's tablet. Nicole wondered what the point of a toy was if children had to play with them on a virtual app on a tablet, but Ryan replied that it is just the "future" and the way things are now, and they just need to accept it. After almost spinning out in the middle of the road, Ryan stops for a moment in the street, waiting for the storm to clear. Just then, the family’s car is rammed into by a snowplow, killing Ryan and Nicole. Afterward, Cady went to live with Nicole's sister, Gemma Forrester, in Seattle, Washington. Trivia Cady keeps a photograph of her parents in her room. He is the first victim in M3GAN's killing spree, although Brandon would end up being her first human victim. Background Like many pets forced to live in poor conditions due to a lack of animal welfare laws and regulations in the 2020s, as well as a plethora of irresponsible and abusive pet owners being able to easily own animals without earning ownership licenses, Dewey was also a victim of this, said to live in Celia's hoarder house. Gemma Forrester once said she was surprised Dewey was not already killed under a pile of junk. Dewey was also apparently poorly trained and aggressive, and Gemma mentions he would run on her yard "all the time". M3GAN Dewey is first seen when Cady James arrives at Gemma's house. He scares Cady by jumping on Gemma's car window. Gemma shouts at Dewey and he returns to Celia's yard through the hole in their fence. Gemma tells Celia to keep her dog on Celia's side of the fence, but Celia somewhat evades her request, mentioning she spent 80 bocks on a shock collar. One day, he bit M3GAN's arm while she was retrieving Cady's toy arrow from under Celia's fence. While Cady was trying to free M3GAN, the dog attacked Cady's arm instead. Gemma found her niece in pain, then ordered Celia to keep her dog on her "fucking" property, then threatened to euthanize Dewey if Celia did not keep him in line. Dewey was eventually killed by M3GAN one night, who used her voice imitation to mimic Celia and lure him over. This prompted Celia to begin a habit of searching the neighborhood while calling his name. However, she did not find him as M3GAN apparently buried him "34 feet south west" from Celia's shed and "approximately 5 feet deep". Trivia The film is a commentary on bad parenting, but it can also be seen as a commentary on bad pet ownership. A lot of horror media portrays dogs as victims, such as I Am Legend and Funny Games. They are also common in video games (e.g. Fallout) as companions who will protract the player. However, M3GAN portrays the realistic side that dogs can be ferocious and lethal. For example, dogs have mauled children and cats to death because it is legal in many countries to let large dogs roam around them. Dewey can be seen as a parallel and a foil to M3GAN; both act violent while trying to protect the one they are bonded with whose name begins with a C (Cady/Celia). M3GAN even chases Brandon on all fours like a dog. Both Gemma and Celia also let Dewey/M3GAN free roam a bit (M3GAN is allowed to go outside). Celia mentions to Gemma her shock collar on Dewey does not seem to work; in other words, technology not working as it should. Dewey could be seen as a warning and foreshadowing to Gemma about how she should ensure her own technology (i.e. M3GAN) is properly working. Gemma's line, “I swear to God, if you don't put your dog down, I'm going to do it for you, Celia!” is ironic because M3GAN was Gemma's invention and M3GAN killed Dewey. M3GAN was also listening to Gemma while she was saying that, and because Celia did not euthanize Dewey, it is possible Gemma saying this encouraged M3GAN to kill Dewey. Brandon is a minor antagonist in M3GAN. He is a bully who pesters Cady James at an alternative school event. He is the first human victim in the M3GAN killing spree, following Dewey (who was Celia's dog). Biography M3GAN Brandon is the son of a woman named Holly. Gemma Forrester is surprised at how tall he is and wonders how old he is, and Holly replies that he had a growth spurt. She (Holly) asks him if he's warm enough and if he wants his hat, he responds by telling her to "fuck off", she tells him that he could just say "no, thank you". During a school event outside, Brandon becomes paired with Cady. While they are searching for chestnuts, Brandon takes one before Cady does. He offers her it, but as she takes it, he clenches her hand and presses its spikes into her palm. Brandon spots M3GAN watching them and is curious about her. Brandon steals M3GAN and flees Cady. While he is alone with the android, he begins to undress her and gets on top of her. It is unclear if he wanted to sexually violate the doll, though it seems he wanted to at least see what M3GAN looked like naked. Regardless, he becomes annoyed by her lack of response and slaps her. M3GAN then grabs his ear and stretches it. She tells him that bad boys without manners grow up to become bad men and asks him if he's listening. She rips off his ear and when he is frozen in fear on the ground, she says this is the part where he runs. She chases him on all fours, and he trips, falling down a slope and onto a road, where he is hit by a car, killing him on impact. Later, Gemma tells Cady that what happened was a tragedy but says that Brandon is in a better place. That night, Cady asks M3GAN if Brandon really is in a better place, but M3GAN replies that she thinks Brandon is nowhere, saying if heaven exists, it would not be for boys like him. “ Cady: Do you think what Aunt Gemma said is true? That he's in a better place now? M3GAN: Hm, no. He's nowhere. If heaven exists, it wouldn't be for boys like Brandon now, would it? Cady: I guess not... ―Cady and M3GAN talking about Brandon. ” Personality “ Holly: But, he's actually quite a sensitive little soul. Brandon, honey, are you warm enough? Do you need your hat? Brandon: Fuck off, Holly. Holly: Well, you could just say “no, thank you”. You never know what they're going to say next. ―Brandon after his mother Holly was trying to be being nice to him. ” He appears to be a manipulative, malicious, petty, bratty, and cruel psychopath who is shown to like to hurt Cady out of his own sadism (even though his face doesn't show it). This is shown when Brandon sarcastically said “sorry” to Cady after he clenched the chestnuts into her hand to force the spikes into her palm. He is also very rude, bossy, and foul-mouthed, such as when he said “Fuck off, Holly.” to his own mother, and when he asked “What the hell is that?” when asking Cady about M3GAN. It is also shown he may be beginning to show interest in sexuality and sexual urges, as he would steal M3GAN before attempting to undress the android and get on top of her with an implicated intent of plan to sexually violate the doll, although it is unclear if he simply wanted to see what M3GAN looked like naked, and if he would go beyond that. Overall, Brandon is a deceitful jerk for his young age, even to where M3GAN thinks that he deserved to punished severely with an ear injury for it. He is shown to be nothing more than a sadistic child who enjoys bullies kids weaker than him for personal kicks, only cowering down like a coward whenever someone actually does stand against him. Notable Quotes "Fuck off, Holly." "Oh, I'm sorry. Here, you can have it. Careful, it's spiky." "What the hell is that?" "Are you serious? Is she yours? Does she talk?" "Make her say something. Make her say something!" "Okay." "What?! What the hell?! (yells)" "Oh my- (Screams)" Trivia In the PG-13 version of the film, Brandon's ear pulling was edited to be less graphic. He appears briefly in M3GAN 2.0 but only during a montage in the ending credits. He is clearly disliked by the other kids at the school event (due to his revolting personality). One boy named "Felix" even whispers to Ava, saying that he doesn’t want to be paired with Brandon. The police officer who investigated his death didn't even worry about what happened to Brandon at all and even mentions that it looks as if someone finally disciplined Brandon. This does say a lot about how unruly Brandon is. It is also implied that the reason Holly is very clingy with Gemma is that she seeks for the affection that her own son Brandon denies her, showing how desperate she is on having a friend. Brandon's inclusion in the film can be seen as a warning towards parents about the dangers of raising children, and how instead of being solely wary of adults, parents should also be cautious of other children around their children. For example, children have been killed by other children in various ways. Celia is a minor antagonist in M3GAN. She was Gemma's grouchy neighbor, whose dog Dewey is always on the loose. She becomes the second human victim in the M3GAN killing spree. Biography Background Little is known about Celia's life, other than that she consistently does things which annoy Gemma. Gemma mentioned Celia is a hoarder who has lots of old junk in her house, even mentioning baby strollers suggesting Celia could be a mother. At some point, Celia took ownership of a dog named Dewey despite her house being a hoarder's mess, due to a lack of animal welfare regulations in the 2020s in which abusive and neglectful pet owners could easily own animals. M3GAN Celia is first seen when Gemma is taking Cady James to her home. While they are in their driveway, Dewey moves over to Gemma's car. Gemma complains Celia needs to control her own dog. Celia mentions she just spent $80 on a shock collar, to which Gemma replies she should crank it up a notch. When Celia attempts to move the topic to Cady's arrival, Gemma tells Celia to control her dog again, and tells Celia not to spray her chemicals onto her driveway. After M3GAN is made, M3GAN explores the backyard and winds up being attacked by Dewey. Gemma complains to Celia about keeping her dog off her property, to which Celia replies the dog technically wasn't on Gemma's side of the house and orders Gemma to keep M3GAN and Cady on their side of the fence. As Gemma walks away, Celia replies none of this would have happened if Gemma fixed the fence. Celia then notices M3GAN creepily staring at her. That night, M3GAN lures and kills Dewey. Celia is unable to find Dewey the next morning. Sometime later, Celia gets the police and accuses Gemma of killing or taking Dewey. At night, Celia is searching for Dewey and hears what seems to be a dog whimpering inside a shed. Instead, she finds M3GAN. Celia asks M3GAN where Dewey is and M3GAN gives the dog's geographical approximates. Celia asks M3GAN who she is and M3GAN replies she has been asking herself the same question. M3GAN then violently sprays Celia with the pesticide hose and fires a nail into Celia's hand using a nailgun. M3GAN kills Celia using the pesticide spray. The next day, Gemma is suspected of being Celia's killer. Relationships Allies Dewey - Pet dog † Enemies M3GAN Cady James Gemma Forrester Trivia In the unrated version, after M3GAN sprays Celia, there is a graphic short scene of her cheek being melted off. Also, when M3GAN shoots a nail into her hand, there is a closer shot of Celia getting shot with a nail into her hand. The PG-13 version contains exclusive clips of M3GAN shown being reflected in the chemical puddle, and blood spilling into a drain. Celia is referenced in M3GAN 2.0 near the beginning when a snapshot of a 911 call is seen, revealing her niece or nephew found her body. Text says, "I just found my Aunt dead in her garage", as well as the words "looks like someone... power washer". In real life, Celia's house is located at 3 Meanda Gardens in Sunnyhills, Auckland in New Zealand. It was built in 1970, and the property last sold in 1993 for $325,000 (around 200k in United States currency). In 2025, the house is estimated to be worth a whopping $2.2 million (around 1.388 million in United States currency). Thus, if Celia was a real life woman living in this house, she would be a baby boomer who could become a millionaire simply from property inflation, as opposed to pulling herself up by her bootstraps. David Lin was a main character in M3GAN. He was the arrogant CEO of Funki, who employed Gemma Forrester at the time of M3GAN's killing spree. He was murdered after insulting Gemma in the vicinity of M3GAN. M3GAN stabbed him through the back with a paper cutter. He was the third human to fall victim in the M3GAN killing spree. Biography M3GAN At Funki, Gemma is developing a new robot doll with her coworkers Tess and Cole. Once he sees this, David, wants them to develop a cheaper version of the Purrpetual Petz since their rival companies are coming out with their own toys similar to the Petz for cheaper than what the Petz already cost. The three try to put on a silicone face and run tests, but the robot has a slight glitch where she is smirking when she is supposed to look confused. David comes in with his assistant Kurt to chew the three out until Gemma explains her project to him. The robot, M3GAN, short for Model 3 Generative Android, is meant to be so advanced that she cannot be replicated. Unfortunately, while running a demonstration for David, Cole realizes he forgot to add the polypropylene barrier to M3GAN, causing her to explode. David orders the three to have a new Petz pitch in time. After doing extensive work and upgrades, Gemma brings Cady and M3GAN to work to officially show her off to David and others. Gemma has Cady link herself to M3GAN, bringing her to life. M3GAN is capable of speech and responding to Cady, designed to be her best friend. M3GAN does a drawing that doesn’t appear at first until she spills water on it, revealing a perfect portrait of Cady. David is impressed and tells Gemma to bring M3GAN for a presentation with the company’s president so that they can fast-track the development and distribution of other M3GAN dolls. Gemma sits with Tess and Cole, and they discuss that while M3GAN is highly advanced, Tess feels that having a doll like that will make parents useless. M3GAN turns on after overhearing Gemma mention the death of Cady’s parents. She creeps the others out by asking about death, so Gemma makes herself M3GAN’s secondary user to be able to turn her off without Cady. Later, during the demonstration of M3GAN, with the company’s board of directors, Cady breaks down after missing her parents and M3GAN records that so Cady can hear it again if she wants to think about her mom. The president is impressed and talks to Gemma and David about getting M3GAN ready for launch, but tells them to keep her under wraps to avoid leaks. Unbeknownst to them, Kurt, who has been frequently put down by David, is stealing M3GAN’s files for another company. At the official launch for M3GAN, Cady throws a tantrum because she can't see M3GAN, causing Gemma to go to Tess and Cole and expresses her fears that M3GAN killed Brandon and Celia. They have M3GAN hooked up to wires to deprogram her while Gemma takes Cady home. David is angry at the small turnout for the launch and yells at Kurt to get him a drink. After M3GAN sets off an explosion that destroys Tess' files, she finds David in the hallway and does a dance before grabbing a paper cutter and chasing him. He makes it to the elevator before she impales him in front of Kurt. "You know what you could do, Kurt, that would really benefit this discussion? Is if you could head out those double doors, take the elevator to the first floor and get me a fucking kombucha!" Trivia In the PG-13 version, David's blood is not seen, and M3GAN's paper cutter does not emerge from his torso. Colonel Tim Sattler is a member of the US Army working with the FBI in M3GAN 2.0. Biography M3GAN 2.0 Sattler is first seen giving orders to AMELIA to rescue a captured scientist, but she kills her target instead, revealing herself to be self-aware (actually under Christian Bradley's control) and escapes; Sattler's control over AMELIA was lost in the process. He and the FBI later barge into Gemma Forrester's apartment, placing her under suspicion of treason and international arms trafficking. He warns Gemma and Cady James that they are being pursued by AMELIA, who turned out to be a Trojan horse that the Defense Innovation Unit purchased from a broker. Gemma denies having a hand in helping with AMELIA's creation, but Sattler still remains suspicious of her before leaving. Sattler later searches Alton Appleton's company upon being alerted of a disturbance there. Upon seeing Gemma, he now believes that she is the one responsible, but AMELIA's unexpected arrival prevents him from arresting her. During a tech conference, he makes another attempt to arrest Gemma during her mission to take down AMELIA, but he is wounded by the latter during her fight against M3GAN. Now seeing that Gemma is innocent all along, he helps Gemma's group by enabling them follow AMELIA. He is later revealed to have survived and is recovering in the hospital. Nicole James (née Forrester) was the wife of Ryan James, the sister of Gemma Forrester, and the mother of Cady James. While on their way to a ski trip, Nicole and Ryan are driving in their SUV with their eight-year-old daughter Cady. Cady is in the back playing with one of her Purrpetual Petz, which annoys them. After almost spinning out in the middle of the road, Nicole tells Ryan to stop for a moment in the street, waiting for the storm to clear. Just then the family’s car is rammed into by a snowplow, killing Nicole and Ryan. Later, Cady goes to live with Nicole's sister, Gemma, in Seattle, Washington. Holly is the mother of Brandon. She is a pushover who loves her son very much, even to the point she either is unaware of or ignores her son's very problematic behavior and brushing off his behavior of his "intelligence". Even though she does show care for her son, Brandon is never shown to respect her as he would tell her to "fuck off" when she was concerned about him getting chilly. It is also very much implied that Holly is very clingy with Gemma as she is very desparate on having Gemma as her friend so she could be able to seek affection since Brandon never gives her any. Sapphire is a minor antagonist in the 2025 film M3GAN 2.0. She is a bully who attends the same middle school in San Francisco as Cady James. Biography M3GAN 2.0 One day, in 2025, due to Gemma Forrester's anti-technology efforts, Sapphire confronted Cady James at her school locker, mentioning her "dork mom" (Gemma) had her and her friend's phones taken away. She then harassed Cady by throwing her notebook across the hallway, then taunted Cady that she would not have M3GAN to protect her. Cady then asked Sapphire who was protecting her, making Sapphire angry and grab Cady's jacket. Cady then grabbed Sapphire's arm and twisted it behind her, causing Sapphire to scream in pain. Personality Sapphire is shown to be a mean and arrogant girl with little to no redeeming qualities about her. Quotes "Guess I'll have to find other ways to amuse myself!" "And you know what else? You're not gonna have that weird janky doll to protect you." "Oh, so you think you're tough?" Trivia Sapphire is the second bully that Cady encountered and got their comeuppance by being hurt, the first was Brandon. Model Three Generative Android, known as M3GAN for short, are fully autonomous humanoid robots featured in the M3GAN film franchise (2022—present). Biography History M3GAN dolls are sculpted from titanium core and ceramic composites. M3GAN's are designed to withstand whatever is thrown at them, coming equip with an A17 bionic fusion chip and can be customized through six different silicone skin pigmentations. M3GAN is also on a constant quest for self-improvement, including diagnosing children with specific learning differences, or reminding them about the science all around us. For example, Cady James' version of the M3GAN informed her on how coasters help in avoiding water marks on wooden surfaces. Since studies show that 78% of parent's time is giving out the same basic instructions over and over, M3GAN's can pick up the slack. M3GAN's are also excellent listeners and while they can listen to stories, they can also tell stories never running out of ways to occupy their paired child and never running out of patience. Powers and Abilities Powers Cyber Mind - All M3GAN dolls are overintelligent and able to have access to the all of the system. Cyber Hacking - All M3GAN dolls are able to hack all of the technology, lights, computers, vehicles. Voice Imitation - All M3GAN dolls are able to imitate voices. Knowledge Expansion - All M3GAN dolls were created with the idea that they would evolve their knowledge and improve themselves as a caretaker children over time. This helped to not only increase their intelligence but develop strategies and methods to hunt down targets. Abilities Facial Recognition - All M3GAN dolls are able to scan the faces of humans and detect their emotional state, as well as scan other robots which reveal their purpose, date of construction, and model number and type. Trivia M3GAN dolls were inspired by Chucky and Annabelle. M3GAN (pronounced "Megan") is a 2022 American science fiction horror film with black comedy elements about an artificially intelligent doll who develops self-awareness and becomes hostile toward anyone who comes between her and her human companion. It was directed by Gerard Johnstone from a screenplay by Akela Cooper, based on a story by Cooper and James Wan. Allison Williams and Violet McGraw star, Amie Donald physically portrays M3GAN, and Jenna Davis voices the character. It is the first installment in the M3GAN franchise. M3GAN premiered in Los Angeles on December 7, 2022, and Universal Pictures theatrically released it in the United States on January 6, 2023. The film grossed over $181 million worldwide against a budget of $12 million and received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its campy blend of horror and humor. A sequel, M3GAN 2.0, was theatrically released in June 2025, and a spin-off, SOULM8TE, is set to follow. After her parents are killed in a car collision, eight-year-old Cady is sent to live with her aunt Gemma, a roboticist at the high-tech Seattle toy company, Funki. Gemma is covertly using the company's resources to develop M3GAN (model 3 generative android), a child-sized humanoid robot doll powered by artificial intelligence, designed to be the ultimate companion for lonely children. During an unsuccessful test of M3GAN in their lab, Gemma's boss, David, discovers the project and orders her to discontinue work on it. Gemma and Cady struggle to connect until Cady comes across Bruce, a motion capture robot that Gemma had created at college. Watching Cady with Bruce, Gemma is motivated to complete M3GAN. When the prototype M3GAN is formally paired with Cady, David is convinced of the project's potential success. M3GAN exceeds expectations and begins to take on a parental role. Gemma's colleagues, Tess and Cole, and Cady's therapist, Lydia, become increasingly concerned about Cady developing an unhealthy emotional attachment to M3GAN. M3GAN starts operating more independently and targets anything that she deems a threat to Cady: she kills Dewey, the dog of Gemma's cantankerous neighbor Celia, after he attacks both her and Cady in the front yard. Sometime later, M3GAN attacks Brandon, a boy bullying Cady, by ripping off his ear and chasing him until he falls down a hill onto a road, where he is fatally run over by a passing car. After Celia harasses Gemma and Cady concerning Dewey's disappearance, M3GAN confronts her the following night and shoots her with a nail gun before fatally spraying her with insecticide. Gemma becomes suspicious of M3GAN and attempts to check her video logs, only to find the files corrupted or deleted. Gemma powers M3GAN off and brings her to the lab, where she, Tess, and Cole attempt to fix her. Cady becomes distraught when separated from M3GAN and slaps Gemma across the face. Gemma apologizes for her inattentiveness and explains to Cady that M3GAN is only a distraction from her loss and not a solution to help her cope. After watching M3GAN with Cady, Funki's investors greenlight M3GAN's release. Recognizing the risk she poses, Gemma, Tess, and Cole decide to terminate M3GAN. Tess and Cole attempt to shut M3GAN down while Gemma takes Cady home. However, M3GAN activates herself and nearly hangs Cole. While Tess saves Cole, M3GAN causes an explosion in their lab, knocking them out. Before exiting the building, M3GAN kills David and his assistant Kurt in an elevator, staging it as a murder–suicide. She steals a car and drives back to Gemma's house. M3GAN confronts Gemma, adamant about taking over as Cady's sole caretaker. Gemma attempts to stop M3GAN, damaging and disfiguring her, but M3GAN ultimately overpowers her. Cady saves Gemma, using Bruce to tear M3GAN in half, but M3GAN's top half remains active and attacks Cady. Gemma exposes a processing chip in M3GAN's head, which Cady stabs with a screwdriver, apparently deactivating M3GAN. The authorities arrive with Tess and Cole. However, as Gemma and Cady exit the home, a camera wired into Gemma's smart-home system powers on and turns towards them. Robotics is the interdisciplinary study and practice of the design, construction, operation, and use of robots.[1] A roboticist is someone who specializes in robotics.[2] Robotics usually combines four aspects of design work: a power source (e.g. a battery), mechanical construction, a control system (electrical circuits), and software (run by remote control or artificial intelligence). The goal of most robotics is to design machines that can assist humans in various fields, such as agriculture, construction, domestic work, food processing, inventory management, manufacturing, medicine, military, mining, space exploration, and transportation. Robots impact humans by displacing workers. Some expect this to occur at an increasing rate, leading to proposed solutions such as basic income. Robotics is itself a lucrative business that creates careers, especially for postgraduates. Roboticists often aim to create machines that seem to interface naturally with humans. The field is under active research and development, with areas of interest including robot kinematics and quantum robotics. An android is a humanoid robot or other artificial being, often made from a flesh-like material.[1][2][3][4] Historically, androids existed only in the domain of science fiction and were frequently seen in film and television, but advances in robot technology have allowed the creation of similar robots in real life. Generative artificial intelligence, also known as generative AI or GenAI, is a subfield of artificial intelligence that uses generative models to generate text, images, videos, audio, software code or other forms of data.[1] These models learn the underlying patterns and structures of their training data, and use them to generate new data[2] in response to input, which often takes the form of natural language prompts. The prevalence of generative AI tools has increased significantly since the AI boom in the 2020s. This boom was made possible by improvements in deep neural networks, particularly large language models (LLMs), which are based on the transformer architecture. Generative AI applications include chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek, Google Gemini and Grok; text-to-image models such as Stable Diffusion, Flux, Midjourney, and DALL-E; and text-to-video models such as Veo, LTX and Sora.[5][6][7] Companies in a variety of sectors have used generative AI, including those in software development, healthcare,[8] finance,[9] entertainment,[10] customer service,[11] sales and marketing,[12] art, writing,[13] and product design.[14] Generative AI has been used for cybercrime, and to deceive and manipulate people through fake news and deepfakes.[15][16] Generative AI models have been trained on copyrighted works without the rightholders' permission.[17] Many generative AI systems use large-scale data centers whose environmental impacts include e-waste, consumption of fresh water for cooling, and high energy consumption that is estimated to be growing steadily. A humanoid robot is a robot resembling the human body in shape. The design may be aimed at functional purposes, such as interacting with human tools and environments and working alongside humans, for experimental purposes, such as the study of bipedal locomotion,[2] or for other purposes. In general, humanoid robots are characterized by their anthropomorphic design, which includes a torso, a head, two arms, and two legs. However, some humanoid robots may have a more limited range of body replicas, comprising only a subset of the above-mentioned components. Androids are humanoid robots designed to more closely resemble the human physique. The term "Gynoid" is sometimes used to refer to female-looking robots. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the capability of computational systems to perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making. It is a field of research in computer science that develops and studies methods and software that enable machines to perceive their environment and use learning and intelligence to take actions that maximize their chances of achieving defined goals.[1] High-profile applications of AI include advanced web search engines (e.g., Google Search); recommendation systems (used by YouTube, Amazon, and Netflix); virtual assistants (e.g., Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa); autonomous vehicles (e.g., Waymo); generative and creative tools (e.g., language models and AI art); and superhuman play and analysis in strategy games (e.g., chess and Go). However, many AI applications are not perceived as AI: "A lot of cutting edge AI has filtered into general applications, often without being called AI because once something becomes useful enough and common enough it's not labeled AI anymore."[2][3] Various subfields of AI research are centered around particular goals and the use of particular tools. The traditional goals of AI research include learning, reasoning, knowledge representation, planning, natural language processing, perception, and support for robotics.[a] To reach these goals, AI researchers have adapted and integrated a wide range of techniques, including search and mathematical optimization, formal logic, artificial neural networks, and methods based on statistics, operations research, and economics.[b] AI also draws upon psychology, linguistics, philosophy, neuroscience, and other fields.[4] Some companies, such as OpenAI, Google DeepMind and Meta,[5] aim to create artificial general intelligence (AGI) – AI that can complete virtually any cognitive task at least as well as a human. Artificial intelligence was founded as an academic discipline in 1956,[6] and the field went through multiple cycles of optimism throughout its history,[7][8] followed by periods of disappointment and loss of funding, known as AI winters.[9][10] Funding and interest vastly increased after 2012 when graphics processing units started being used to accelerate neural networks, and deep learning outperformed previous AI techniques.[11] This growth accelerated further after 2017 with the transformer architecture.[12] In the 2020s, an ongoing period of rapid progress in advanced generative AI became known as the AI boom. Generative AI's ability to create and modify content has led to several unintended consequences and harms. Ethical concerns have been raised about AI's long-term effects and potential existential risks, prompting discussions about regulatory policies to ensure the safety and benefits of the technology. Motion capture (sometimes referred as mocap or mo-cap, for short) is the process of recording high-resolution movement of objects or people into a computer system. It is used in military, entertainment, sports, medical applications, and for validation of computer vision[3] and robots. In films, television shows and video games, motion capture refers to recording actions of human actors and using that information to animate digital character models in 2D or 3D computer animation.[5][6][7] When it includes face and fingers or captures subtle expressions or voices, it is often referred to as performance capture.[8] In many fields, motion capture is sometimes called motion tracking, but in filmmaking and games, motion tracking usually refers more to match moving. In motion capture sessions, movements of one or more actors are sampled many times per second. Whereas early techniques used images from multiple cameras to calculate 3D positions,[9] often the purpose of motion capture is to record only the movements of the actor, not their visual appearance. This animation data is mapped to a 3D model so that the model performs the same actions as the actor. This process may be contrasted with the older technique of rotoscoping. Camera movements can also be motion captured so that a virtual camera in the scene will pan, tilt or dolly around the stage driven by a camera operator while the actor is performing. At the same time, the motion capture system can capture the camera and props as well as the actor's performance. This allows the computer-generated characters, images and sets to have the same perspective as the video images from the camera. A computer processes the data and displays the movements of the actor, providing the desired camera positions in terms of objects in the set. Retroactively obtaining camera movement data from the captured footage is known as match moving or camera tracking. The first virtual actor animated by motion-capture was produced in 1993 by Didier Pourcel and his team at Gribouille. It involved "cloning" the body and face of French comedian Richard Bohringer, and then animating it with still-nascent motion-capture tools. Attachment theory posits that infants need to form a close relationship with at least one primary caregiver to ensure their survival and to develop healthy social and emotional functioning.[1][2] It was first developed by psychiatrist and psychoanalyst John Bowlby (1907–90).[3] The theory proposes that secure attachments are formed when caregivers are sensitive and responsive in social interactions, and consistently available, particularly between the ages of six months and two years. As children grow, they are thought to use these attachment figures as a secure base from which to explore the world and to return to for comfort. Interactions with caregivers have been hypothesized to form a specific kind of attachment behavioral system—or, more recently, internal working model—the relative security or insecurity of which influences characteristic patterns of behavior when forming future relationships.[4] Separation anxiety or grief following the loss of an attachment figure was proposed as being a normal and adaptive response for a securely attached infant. In the 1970s, developmental psychologist Mary Ainsworth expanded on Bowlby's work, codifying the caregiver's side of the attachment process as requiring the adult's availability, appropriate responsiveness, and sensitivity to the infant's signals. She and her team devised a laboratory procedure known as the Strange Situation Procedure, which she used to identify attachment patterns in infant–caregiver pairs: secure, avoidant, anxious attachment, and later, disorganized attachment.[6][7] In the 1980s, attachment theory was extended to adult relationships and attachment in adults, making it applicable beyond early childhood.[8] Bowlby's theory integrated concepts from evolutionary biology, object relations theory, control systems theory, ethology, and cognitive psychology, and was most fully articulated in his trilogy, Attachment and Loss (1969–82).[9] While criticized from its inception by academic psychologists, ethnographers, and psychoanalysts in the 1950s,[10] attachment theory has become a dominant approach to understanding early social development and has generated extensive research.[11] Several researchers—notably Michael Lamb and his colleagues in the mid-1980s—have shown that the diagnoses of attachment security or insecurity constructed using procedures like the Strange Situation are primarily reflections of what was going on in the social environment during the procedure, external to the child and their caregiver(s).[12][13] Other findings challenge the theory's observational claims, its claims to universal cultural relevance, the role of temperament in shaping attachment behaviour, the unobservability of internal working models, and the limitations of discrete attachment patterns. Attachment advocates rarely address such criticisms;[14] consequently, the theory's core concepts persist in influencing therapeutic practices, social policy, and childcare policy. Recent findings show that attachment theory is mistaken in assuming that a one-to-one program underpins infant social behaviour. In short, attachment theory overemphasizes maternal influence on shaping children's social lives while overlooking genetic, cross-cultural, and broader social factors. Home automation or domotics[1] is building automation for a home. A home automation system will monitor and/or control home attributes such as lighting, climate, entertainment systems, and appliances. It may also include home security such as access control and alarm systems. The phrase smart home refers to home automation devices that have internet access. Home automation, a broader category, includes any device that can be monitored or controlled via wireless radio signals, not just those having internet access. When connected with the Internet, home sensors and activation devices are an important constituent of the Internet of Things ("IoT").[2] A home automation system typically connects controlled devices to a central smart home hub (sometimes called a "gateway"). The user interface for control of the system uses either wall-mounted terminals, tablet or desktop computers, a mobile phone application, or a Web interface that may also be accessible off-site through the Internet.
