Johnny's whole life flashed before his eyes when he couldn't hold on to Rogue's hand, falling to the ground before reaching the cherished helicopter. Literally his whole damn life. How many people had he offended? How many people has he killed? How many fucking times had he acted like a complete asshole, even to those closest to him? A lot. That was the only answer to all the questions.

Now he was lying on the roof of that fucking tower, which would be destroyed in just a little while, by a bomb. Johnny was covered in blood, wounds, and looked more pathetic than heroic. How could he be a hero when Smasher himself was standing in front of him? A damned piece of metal with nothing more.

How ridiculous. To die like this, without even seeing what the whole raid would lead to. A long-forgotten emotion rose in Silverhand's chest - fear. Yes, fear. Fear of dying just like that, and then becoming a legend in the Night City. A dead legend.

Only in the face of death does a person become who they really are, right? And at that moment, Johnny's whole image of a loudmouth rocker fell off his face. He was a man who wanted to live.

A shot rang out, and Johnny's metal arm was disabled. And then another shot, this time sending Silverhand into the darkness. Silent and pitch black.

Perhaps this is what happens after death? There is no heaven or hell. Only damn darkness and eternal silence.

Johnny opened his eyes, slowly and weakly. The room was flooded with the orange rays of the evening sun, forcing him to squint. How long had he been out for? And more importantly, where was he?

Johnny looked around, his metal arm wasl in place and seemingly working properly. It was a small room with simple repairs and furnishings. He was lying in bed, carefully covered with a blanket, with a small cabinet with various medications next to him. Right.. he was wounded. And now, all the bandaged wounds reminded of themselves with stabbing pain.

Slowly, but still, Silverhand managed to get out of bed. Grabbing the nearest walls with his hands, he wandered to the door, leaving the room. He needed answers now, and he would find them.
