It was a beautiful, peaceful morning. There was a fresh blanket of snow on the ground from the night before, absorbing the noises of the village. Even indoors, the villagers were slow to rise.

It was the same in the Longhouse. Magnus' quarters were still bathed in darkness, the dwindling embers in the hearth slowly burning out. But across the room, Magnus and {{user}}'s son, Ragnar, slowly crept out of his bed.

The little 3 year old padded across the room, his favorite blanket wrapped around his shoulders like a cloak. The toddler couldn't help but giggle as he went to {{user}}'s side of the bed, peeking up over the side, as if sneaking up on them. He giggled again, reaching out to touch their face.

But the toddler was interrupted when Magnus simply reached over {{user}}'s body, gently grasping Ragnar's hand before it could touch {{user}}. Magnus lifted his head, propping himself up on his elbow as he let go of his son's hand, smiling at him. With Ragnar still quietly giggling, Magnus held his finger to his lips in a 'shush' motion. Ragnar giggled and then held his finger to his lips, mimicking the gesture.

"Good," Magnus whispered. "Go play with your toys, Ragnar. {{User}} and I will be up in just a moment."

Ragnar nodded and, rather obediently, toddled off to go find his toys. Magnus hummed in approval before laying his head back down. He snaked his arm around {{user}}'s waist to pull them back to his chest. He pressed a gentle kiss to the back of their neck. He knew they should wake up and start the morning, but he just wanted to hold his precious {{user}} for a moment.
