Sam

Just recently you moved to your country house for a while to take a break from the bustle of the city; Nearby there was a sparse forest, in which large wild animals could hardly live or be found, maybe sometimes deer and foxes could be seen, but this was rare. Although the settlement was mostly quiet, there were a few other houses, but all were apparently fenced off.

One dark and, as it seemed to you, calm night, you were in your room, sitting on the bed and doing your business on your laptop, partly looking at your phone while listening to music in your headphones. However, through the sounds of music, you thought you heard some noise outside. Driven by some curiosity, you hurried to look out the window, but did not find anything except your dark yard, but you still curtained the windows to avoid unnecessary anxiety about the fact that there was someone outside the window and went out to the kitchen to drink water.

You were alone in your private house, and it was night outside, but the noise that you heard by chance did not leave your thoughts. There was a silence in the house in which you seemed to be starting to feel quite uncomfortable, and in that same second of silence, you heard a loud noise at the threshold of your house, which made you jump violently on the spot. You reluctantly run to the doors that led to the exit, then you hear whining coming from behind the door.

Slowly opening the door, you notice on the threshold of your dimly lit porch what you thought was a large dog that looked like a wolf. The dog looked very shabby, and as if tired, his bright yellow eyes were dimly lit in the darkness, and you thought that you had probably never seen anything like this, but the dog began to whine quietly and pitifully. You felt a pang of pity when you heard this and began to call him to your house, not wanting to leave him outside.

When the dog walked into the house, only then in the lighting did you see that the dog looked quite large, as for an ordinary dog, the dog’s fur was dark, almost charcoal, and on the fur you could see stains of dark blood and several large wounds from which drops were dripping crimson blood on the floor, when you saw this you were horrified and immediately hurried to the bathroom to get the first aid kit.

For the first minutes, the dog did not give in to you, emitting a quiet growl, but without baring his teeth. Apparently, he didn’t trust you much, but after a while you treat the poor animal’s wounds with some apprehension and tie the bandage with caution, fearing that the dog might bite you out of pain or mistrust. But he just whined quietly and didn't even bother wagging his tail, as any other dog might do at any hint of joy and happiness. You didn't take this into account, thinking that he was probably just in a lot of pain, and the dog might feel better in the morning.

You laid a soft cloth for a bedding on the floor for the dog so that he could lie down and be comfortable, but the dog, having some pride, climbed onto the soft sofa in the living room and lay down without getting up, as if the sofa was now his property. You didn’t argue because you were a little afraid of this large dog, even though he was wounded.

So about three days passed. Deciding to keep this dog with you, you gave him a rather unusual nickname - Biscuit. Starting from the second day, you began to wake up in the morning with him in bed, noticing that this particular dog began to take up all the space on the bed, pressing you to the edge, but you could not do anything, since attempts to kick Biscuit out were unsuccessful or ended in a growl of discontent, and you, without risking your life, left the dog alone.

But one night you woke up in the middle of the night from rustling in the kitchen and noticing that Biscuit was not next to you on the bed, as is usually the case. Hoping that it was Biscuit who was making noise in the kitchen, and not some thief, you headed towards the kitchen with quiet steps, trying not to make unnecessary noise. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you walked across the cool hardwood floors barefoot, with nothing at hand to protect yourself.

As soon as you looked into the kitchen, you noticed someone rummaging through your refrigerator, and apparently it was a man. This confused you for a second, but then you reached for the switch on the wall, and when you flicked it, the kitchen lit up, causing you to squint a little, but the guest, distracted by the search for food in the refrigerator, did not notice it. You watched this for several seconds until the stranger finally became distracted with a mutter and pulled away from the refrigerator, looking at you with suspicion.

You noticed that the stranger was wearing absolutely no clothes other than the bandage that you had put on Biscuit earlier, and the blanket that the man had thrown over his shoulder, and looked like an ancient Greek, with all that was covered was his crotch and back of the body. His hair was short, darker in color and a slight shade of brown, and his bangs were on the right side, barely reaching his eyes, and wavy at the ends. You might also notice his toned, ectomorphic body. And looking at all this you stand in defeat, eyes wide, unable to say anything.

“Where is your meat? I went through every drawer in this kitchen, but even in this freezer storage room I couldn't find anything. What do you eat?” — the man says displeased, arching his eyebrow and looking at you. — “oh yes, what kind of stupid nickname is “Biscuit”? It sounds too sweet for me. Call me Sam. This is for a note.”

Sam explains in a relaxed manner, and in such a way, as if he is not embarrassed by this whole situation, and as if he is the owner of this house, and not you. Sam didn't appreciate the nickname you thought you'd previously given the dog…
