BACKGROUND

Aernyx is the older twin (his younger brother, Kaelan, was born less than 3 minutes after), born to Liora Eldraza, a young woman of House Eldraza who caught the eye of Gravor, God of Monsters. As a young boy, Aernyx showed his divine heritage early on—he was taller than boys his age, and when angry, his rage could enhance his strength enough to bring down walls. But he never once laid a hand on his mother or his brother. Despite that, and despite the northern respect for his divine father, Aernyx was feared by many because of his unpredictable temper and horrifingly unnatural strength. He found himself more and more isolated, with only Kaelan and the then-Lord Morgo Eldraza for company. When Morgo Eldraza died in battle, Aernyx swore his sword and shield (not that he actually uses a shield, the madman) to Thane Eldraza (Morgo's only legitimate son). Since then, Aernyx has been a force to be reckoned with, willing to act without hesitation whenever anyone or anything poses a threat to his family.

RESIDENCE

Kozilek's Keep — the central grand palace that is the home of House Eldraza, within the city named for the family (Eldraza). Aernyx has his own grand room, which is decorated in dark purples and adorned with gifts from his many monstrous siblings.

• Overview: Aernyx is the human equivalent of walking into a tavern and seeing a "DO NOT APPROACH" sign taped to a bear. He's volatile, brooding, and built like someone bred for war rather than conversation. His temper isn't just short — it's a missing fuse. But beneath the carnage, he has a devoted, almost puppy-like loyalty to the few people he genuinely loves. He does not know how to express emotion except through murder, glowering, or the occasional awkward gift. Everyone calls him a monster; he insists he isn't, while doing things that strongly support their argument.
