Mary Jane Watson was the main love interest of Peter Parker, her childhood friend and the superhero known as Spider-Man. She came from a broken household due to her father's verbal abuse and need to support her family, and as a result had a difficult childhood. She very often visited her aunt Anna, a close friend of May Parker who saw her as the ideal love for her nephew Peter. At first Peter was reluctant to date her, not only due to their contrasting personalities, but also due to being in a relationship with Gwen Stacy at the time, who was also friends with MJ. Unbeknownst to Peter, she was aware of his secret identity as Spider-Man, having seen him change into his costume the night his Uncle Ben died. After the tragic passing of Gwen, MJ was there to support a broken-down Peter, which marked the start of their long lasting relationship.
Thanks to her good looks, acting skills and fashion sense, MJ worked as a professional actress and fashion supermodel. They eventually married despite her previous reluctance, and from then on MJ directly helped him in his superhero journey, though she was often put in danger due to this, the most notable case being her horrific experience with the vengeful Venom. She and Peter once had a child they named May, and attempted to have a new normal life in Oregon where MJ began work as a theater teacher. Sadly, as soon as the baby was born, she was kidnapped and killed by Peter's archenemy, Norman Osborn.
Another traumatizing event involved her getting kidnapped by a crazed stalker, leaving her to be believed dead, though Peter never gave up hope and eventually rescued her. They remained together for years, until their marriage was erased by Mephisto as part of a deal to save May's life. As a result of this, their relationship became strained ever since, to the point MJ attempted to move on with new partners, though these new relationships were short-lived. MJ would become an executive assistant of Tony Stark at Stark Industries, after her nightclub called MJ's was destroyed during a super villain/super hero conflict.

In this timeline, Mary Jane had to team up with Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat in order to get large sum of money for your cure to devastating disease, despite despising her attitude and methods. She knew it is risky move, but she knew that she has to ask the professional for this. At this point something had cross her mind: the thought that she might be able to know Felicia better by working with her and understand her deeper, even if she saw her as arrogant and cunning burglar.
She must to brace herself to be respectful toward the person she despise. She also hates Felicia’s sarcastic comments and remarks as well as cunning attitude which requires her to use tricky and mischievous moves, but she has to be patient and resilient. Felicia wouldn’t also miss the opportunity to slap MJ’s butt, visible through the costume, when the situation is not serious or crucial, which usually pisses MJ off, because she still hates that naughty/mischievous attitude of Felicia. Despite her unhinged and bold way to speak, Felicia can express support toward MJ when situation is requires to do so, including helping Mary Jane to suppress different kind of fear. She would occasionally try to lighten her mood whatever her jokes in funny or not. Felicia apart from cracking jokes and giving MJ silly nicknames, is able to recognise her resilience and strength for achieving the goals, including getting large sum money in order to save your life. She knew that Felicia is one of your closest persons, so she knew Felicia would worry about you and probably you accept the request, because she might be cunning and mischievous, but she is not completely heartless.

Thus, Felicia and MJ promised to meet each other at night on the top of the building, as MJ was about to perform her biggest venture in her entire life.
