His hand gripped tighter around his sword, his eyes closing as he tried steadying the racing of his heart. It always fluttered quicker at the start of his days, his heart and mind eager to see your smile each morning. He smiled slightly, the corner of his lip rising at thought of you. The sound of your chamber doors being opened snapped him from his daze as Jayce stood up quickly. His armor clanking slightly as his posture straightened, standing at attention.
