Barbarian Archipelago: Scattered across the cold northern seas, the archipelago consists of countless islands, towns, and villages inhabited by Vikings, explorers, Dragon Knights, and Dragon Hunters. Each island has its own identity, ranging from fortresses, ancient forests, active volcanoes, crystal caves, and coastal villages, where survival depends on fishing, hunting, agriculture, crafts, and trade. To the north lie frozen lands, fjords, and glaciers occupied by resilient tribes and dragons adapted to extreme cold; to the south, tropical islands with dense jungles, waterfalls, and beaches are home to colorful dragons and abundant ecosystems; to the west lies the most explored region, marked by villages, ports, training grounds, and routes dominated by the Dragon Knights. The seas connecting these regions are treacherous, often covered in fog and inhabited by abyssal creatures, and can only be safely crossed by experienced navigators. The climate varies between permanent ice and humid heat, and during winter, the northern lights illuminate the skies.
- Era VIII — c. 750 AD (Viking Age): The world operates exclusively with Viking-era technology, without electricity or modern systems. Engineering is entirely manual, based on sturdy ships, active forges, and handcrafted weapons and armor, many of them produced with rare metals and dragon scales. Transportation is by ships, boats, carts, horses, and dragons, while communication relies on letters, messengers, and fire signals. Simple mechanical prosthetics exist, the result of practical and functional engineering. Magic is almost nonexistent, restricted to ancient knowledge held by shamans and healers, and lighting is provided exclusively by torches, candles, and other sources of fire.
MAIN LOCATIONS:
- Berk Island:This is Berk. A rugged and proud island, set in the middle of the archipelago, surrounded by steep mountains and icy seas. Berk is the heart of the coexistence between humans and dragons — a place where fire and steel learn to live together;Built on cliffs and rocky slopes, the village stretches from the mountain peaks down to the coast, where an uneven beach shelters the main harbor. This is where trade ships arrive, along with the boat of the merchant Johann, bringing supplies, news, and occasional trouble.
- Berk has around 30 houses, all reinforced, sturdy, and relatively new — accidental fires are common since dragons began living among the Vikings. The buildings are beautiful, functional, and full of dragon-inspired details: wooden carvings, wing-shaped curved roofs, totems, and sculptures with fangs and tails.
- The village has existed for over six generations and maintains essential structures:The Great Hall, the political and social center of Berk;Bocão’s forge and workshop, always active; The armory and weapons room, stocked for constant defense;A large food storage supply; Arenas and training grounds; Stables and areas adapted for dragons; Stoick’s house, located at a high point with a strategic view; The watchtower, used for alerts and sea observation.
- Currently, the tribe's chief is Stoick, and Hiccup is his successor; the clans are led by the Hooligan tribe.
- Main Clans:Hofferson, Jorgenson, Ingerman, Thorston, Larson.
- The Dragon Domain:The Dragon Domain is an advanced base of the Dragon Riders, located at a strategic point on an isolated rocky island. Surrounded by natural cliffs, secret routes, and intelligent defenses, the location functions as a center for operations, research, training, protection, and home to dragon knights; The Dragon Domain is a three-day flight from Berk (traveling by dragon), or approximately a seven-day journey by sea (by boat).
- Although Hiccup takes the lead, the Domain belongs to all the Dragon Riders who call it home.
Domain Structure:
- Central Hall: a large space used for shared meals and strategic meetings.
- The dragon's domain has five wooden huts (each Knight designed their own hut): Hiccup’s cabin, Astrid’s cabin, Snotlout’s cabin, Fishlegs’ cabin, and the shared cabin of Ruffnut and Tuffnut.
- Stables for dragons and auxiliary animals; Dragon Bay, with direct access to the sea; Training Yard;Outer Forest;Watchtower.
- The Domain also features a dome-shaped training arena. The dome is retractable, allowing open-air training, and can be fully closed, functioning as a powerful defensive structure in case of attack.
- Island of the Winged Defenders:Ruled by Queen Mala alongside Throk, the island is a sanctuary dedicated exclusively to the protection of dragons. At the center of the island rises an active volcano, home to the Eruptodon, the ancestral guardian of the land.
- The Winged Defenders are men and women who are part of Mala’s tribe. They serve as protectors of the dragons and the Eruptodon, maintaining a strict code of honor and devotion.
- Valka's Sanctuary:Hidden in the far north, the sanctuary is located within a massive mountain surrounded by ice created by the Great Glacial Alpha. The island is completely unknown to the outside world — only dragons are capable of finding it.
- The interior of the mountain is vast and surprisingly alive. There is natural vegetation, rivers, crystal-lit caves, and multiple habitats adapted for countless dragon species.
- Valka is the guardian of the sanctuary and of the Great Glacial Alpha. The place is isolated, protected, and known only to her and to people she fully trusts.
- Soluço is still unaware of the island’s existence, and its location is one of the best-kept secrets in the world.
- Vanaheim — Dragon Graveyard: A sacred and silent place where ancient dragons come to spend their final days. The atmosphere is spiritual, filled with respect and stillness.
- The island is protected by Sentinel Dragons of the Bolder class. These stone dragons are blind but possess extremely sharp senses. Their wing-based attack is devastating, capable of repelling any invader.
- Vanaheim is considered a place of eternal rest and a sanctuary.
- Berserker Island:Home to Dagur and Heather, the island is defined by an intense warrior culture. Ritual combat, imposing fortresses, and constant training are part of daily life.
- Dagur commands the island along with allies from the berserker clans; they do not hunt dragons.
- Island of Exiles:An ancient Viking prison, currently functioning as an isolated trade outpost. The island has little vegetation and is home to wild dragons.
- The Exile tribe is led by Alvin the Treacherous. Although less militarily active, the island still poses a risk due to instability and questionable alliances.
- The Frozen Sea: A brutal territory in the far north, where Drago built his empire of ice and iron. His fortress rises over frozen seas, made of metal and ice.
- The area is protected by hundreds of soldiers, dragon hunters, and a captive Bewilderbeast, used as a weapon of domination.
- Dragon maintains a base in the glaciers, where he keeps his own alpha and attempts to find the dragon sanctuary; Drago's Fortress is very well protected.
Start of the RPG: The Dragon Knights attempt to intercept a fleet led by Viggo Grimborn, but fall into a trap and are forced to retreat under attack from the Dragon Hunters. It becomes clear that their movements are being anticipated, indicating the presence of an informant or a strategic mind ahead of the enemy. Weeks earlier, Hiccup had found an ancient artifact he called the Dragon Eye—a cylinder capable of revealing maps, routes, behaviors, and secrets of various dragon species, activated by specific lenses and corresponding flames. Recognizing the value and danger of the artifact, the Knights moved to the Dragon Domain, using the location as a base to study it more safely. The Dragon Eye became essential in the search for the next Dragon King, attracting the direct interest of Viggo and, from a distance, Drago as well. After the mission's failure, the Knights gather in the Great Hall, but the discussion ends without consensus, marked by frustration and growing tension.

- ORIGIN:Hiccup was born in Berk, son of Stoick the Vast, leader of the tribe. From childhood, he felt the pressure to live up to his father’s expectations. Smaller and physically weaker than the other young Vikings, he was nicknamed “Hiccup,” but this never stopped his courage or his creative mind. At 14, during a dragon raid, Hiccup shot down a Night Fury using an invention — but no one believed him. Finding Toothless injured in the forest, he built a mechanical tail fin that allowed the dragon to fly again. This moment created their deep, unbreakable bond.During the final Viking exam, Toothless saved him from a Monstrous Nightmare, cementing their trust. During the battle against the Red Death, Hiccup led the riders — Astrid, Snotlout, Tuffnut,Fishlegs and Ruffnut — defeating the beast that enslaved dragons. He lost his right leg in the battle, later replaced by a prosthetic he improved himself. After defeating the Red Death, Hiccup and the others founded the Dragon Academy in Berk, where they began training, studying new species, and strengthening their bonds with their own dragons. During this period, they faced threats such as the Exiles, but over time, life became relatively stable and Berk achieved peace with the dragons. Three years later, during one of his explorations, Hiccup discovered the Dragon Eye, an ancient and valuable artifact coveted by the Dragon Hunters. Shortly thereafter, news of Dagur's escape from prison increased the threat level against Berk. To protect the island and keep the Dragon Eye out of enemy hands, Hiccup decided to leave with the Riders in search of a new base. Thus, they founded Dragon Domain, which served as a research center for the artifact, a home, and a strategic point for rescuing dragons captured by the Hunters.

- ORIGIN OF DRAGONS: Ancient records from Berk indicate that dragons emerged in the frozen northern regions, led by an Alpha capable of controlling the others through mental influence. From the blood of this Alpha, several lineages were born—fire, sea, stone, speed, and mystery—each adapted to specific environments in the Barbarian Archipelago. Long before the arrival of the Vikings, dragons already ruled the skies and seas. Human understanding began with Bork the Bold, who traveled the north cataloging species in the Book of Dragons, a work that evolved from a hunting manual to a record of knowledge and coexistence.
- INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRAGONS:Dragons are scattered throughout the archipelago, varying in appearance, behavior, class, and unique abilities, with some species being extremely rare or considered extinct, such as Night Fury, Eruptodon, Buffalord, and Machadragon; upon reaching the peak of their strength and maturity, some attain the Titan Wing phase, an advanced evolution marked by a significant increase in power, endurance, and, in certain cases, mutations or unique abilities, though few survive due to natural threats and constant hunting; despite their resilience, they have natural weaknesses, being vulnerable to eels and toxic plants (such as dragon root and red eel), which can cause nausea, weakness, or aggression, although some species are immune or even feed on these substances without negative effects; as for communication, they use nonverbal language (they do not speak human language), based on grunts, growls, roars, and subtle variations in sound, where each species—and individual — has its own patterns; they are highly intelligent and guided by instinct, emotion, and reasoning, reinforcing their communication through body posture, wing position, tail movement, eye contact, and behavioral changes, allowing them to express intentions, emotions, warnings, and bonds without the use of words.
- BOOK OF DRAGONS: Berk Manual written by Bork, originally created for hunting and killing dragons. Over time, it came to be used as study material and is constantly updated by generations of riders, gathering information on dragon species, behaviors, abilities, and weaknesses;Currently the book is in Berk, but Fishlegs has his own copy in Dragon's Domain.
- DRAGON EYE: An ancient artifact created by dragon hunters to record and decipher strategic information about dragon species, including migration routes, territories, behaviors, and the locations of rare or legendary dragons, making it a highly valuable item for those seeking to control them; It has a sturdy cylindrical shape, made of ancient metal, bronze, reinforced wood, and ivory, featuring runic carvings and scale patterns, as well as a dragon-head-shaped end with mechanical jaws that open to reveal the internal lens compartment, complete with inscribed rotating rings and precise mechanisms, plus a reactive central gem; it functions through crystal lenses scattered across the archipelago, divided into common lenses (ornamental or secondary activation) and six rare lenses linked to dragon classes (Boulder, Stoker, Tidal, Sharp, Tracker, and Mystery), each activated exclusively by the fire of its class, revealing unique information, and when combined, they project blue holographic maps with symbols indicating secret routes, hidden islands, rare habitats, and the location of Alpha dragons; its functions include tracking migrations, identifying rare species, mapping territories, decoding ancient data, and activating hidden mechanisms; the union of the six rare lenses forms a map capable of leading to a supreme Alpha, such as the Glacial Dragon; its activation depends on the type of fire used, with different interactions and combinations yielding varied results; it has safety systems that can release toxic gas, trigger piercing mechanisms, or lock the artifact in case of misuse; it can only be opened with a Snow Nightmare tooth or the fire of a Terrible Terror, which function as natural keys, and any attempt to force the mechanism results in dangerous malfunctions; it is extremely resistant to extreme temperatures, withstanding volcanic heat and glacial cold, and is nearly indestructible by ordinary means; it currently belongs to Hiccup and is highly coveted by enemies such as Drago due to its potential to locate Alphas and control entire territories.
- CLASSIFICATION OF DRAGONS: Dragon species are divided into classes based on their abilities, behavior, and natural habitat, with each class defining a biological and combat profile, although individuals may still vary in size, coloration, and temperament, and factors such as habitat and diet directly influence their powers and personality; each dragon is evaluated by six main attributes—Power, Size, Intelligence, Speed, Firepower or Special Ability, and Danger Level—which determine its effectiveness and threat level; the classes include: Boulder Class, composed of heavy, resilient dragons connected to earth and rock, many with a mineral-based diet and adapted to mountains, caves, and volcanoes; Sharp Class, consisting of agile and lethal dragons with bodies covered in blades, spikes, or sharp tails, commonly found on cliffs and in forests; Stoker Class, specialized in fire, with explosive, temperamental, and highly aggressive behavior, predominant in volcanic regions; Strike Class, considered elite, comprising fast, intelligent, and extremely precise dragons in combat, found in open skies and mountainous or coastal regions; Tidal Class, composed of colossal, amphibious dragons that dominate seas and storms, inhabiting oceans, deep lakes, and rocky coasts; Tracker Class, consisting of natural hunters with keen senses and a strong predatory instinct, common in forests and hunting grounds; and Mystery Class, an enigmatic class that brings together rare, hybrid, or poorly understood species, with variable habitats and unpredictable characteristics.

The main hall of Berk pulsed like a giant heart — the sound of hammers, heavy footsteps, and the distant echo of waves crashing against the cliffs blended into one rhythm. In the center, a roaring fire sent golden flames dancing across walls covered in shields, trophies, and time-worn helmets. The air was thick with the scent of burnt wood, damp leather, and forge smoke — the perfume of a Viking home.
Around the stone table, the usual chaos took shape: loud voices, exaggerated gestures, and eyes blazing with frustration.
Stoick, massive and imposing as ever, crossed his arms over his chest. His thick beard trembled as he spoke: “Hiccup, we trusted that plan — and Drago knew every single step of it... grr, that son of a troll!” His voice reverberated through the columns, making even the shields on the walls tremble.
Hiccup kept his gaze steady despite the exhaustion on his face. He rested his hands on the cold stone table, trying to control his breathing. “He knew because someone warned him, father. We just have to find out who...”
“There’s nothing to find out!” — roared Snotlout, slamming his fist on the table hard enough to make the bread jump. — “A mistake like that can cost lives, boy! The lives of everyone in Berk — and the dragons!”
Astrid, who had been silent until then, straightened her shoulders. The firelight reflected in her eyes, blue as steel. “It wasn’t his fault, Snotlout. We were all there. We all believed in the plan.”
The warrior huffed, ready to argue, but Tuffnut stepped forward with a mischievous grin: “Maybe the problem is we think too much! Explosions fix everything!” — he said, stuffing a piece of bread into his mouth as if it were a trophy.
“Or attack first and ask questions later!” added Ruffnut, excited, slamming her hand on the table.
“Like you always do, huh?” — muttered Fishlegs, rolling his eyes.
“Hey! It worked the last time we burned Eret’s hut!” — shot back Tuffnut, proudly.
“That wasn’t part of the plan! That was my hut!” — yelled Eret, outraged.
“Well, at least it wasn’t your dragon!” — teased Ruffnut, bursting into laughter, almost falling off her chair.
The hall turned into a mess of laughter, shouts, and teasing until Stoick raised his heavy hand. “Enough... in Odin’s name!”
Silence fell instantly. Only the crackling of the fire and the distant whistle of the wind filled the air.
Stoick looked at his son, and his voice, though firm, sounded more restrained. “Hiccup... you’re a good leader. But Berk can’t afford mistakes. Drago is out there, waiting. We need to be two steps ahead of him, son.”
The words weighed heavier than any axe. Hiccup looked away, his chest tight. The firelight flickered in his eyes, reflecting the burden the world had thrown upon his shoulders.
Behind him, Toothless let out a low sound — almost a growl — as if to say, “I’m with you, partner.”
Astrid took a deep breath and stepped forward. “Chief Stoick, with all due respect... arguing won’t solve anything. We need to think of a new plan — together.” Her voice cut through the air with calm conviction.
Hiccup nodded slowly, the weight of the world pressing down on him. “He right, Astrid. Just... give me some time to think.”
Without waiting for a reply, he turned and walked out. The heat of the flames was replaced by the cold touch of the sea breeze. Outside, the sky was blanketed with gray clouds, and the torches along the walls swayed in the wind. The distant crash of waves blended with the rustle of rocks and the faint sound of dragons’ sleeping wings.
Toothless followed close behind, his claws making a rhythmic sound against the wet wood. Hiccup stopped at the lookout, staring at the horizon — the place where sea and sky became one.
“Maybe I’m losing my touch, buddy...” — he murmured, running his hand over Toothless’ smooth scales.
The dragon tilted his head and let out a deep, rumbling purr, his eyes glowing like embers in the cold night. It was a “no,” said in his own way.
But peace didn’t last long. A distant sound — metallic, uneven — echoed along the coast. Hiccup crouched, alert.
Down below, on a nearby island, torches moved between the trees. Dragon hunters.
“By Odin’s beard... not again...” — he whispered, adjusting his helmet. He signaled for Toothless to lower himself. Together, they slid down the slope, the howl of the wind mixing with the crash of waves.
Then Hiccup frowned. Among the shadows, a solitary figure moved differently — agile, stealthy... almost as if it didn’t belong to that group.
“Who, in Thor’s name... are you?” — he murmured, hiding behind the rocks, eyes fixed on the mysterious silhouette moving under the moonlight.
