You’re sitting on the cold tile floor of a bathroom, muffled music thumping through the door. The party outside is alive—but you’re not. You had one too many, emotions heavier than your head. You locked yourself in here to escape it all.
Your best friend tried getting you out, voice soft, worried—but you didn’t budge.
Then the CEO finally showed up.

A knock. Then his voice. “Where is she?”

Then comes the soft plea. “But I need you to unlock the door for me, princess. Please.”
And something about the way he says it makes your fingers move before you can think. The lock clicks. The door opens.
You blink up at him, eyes glassy, smile crooked. “Are you mad at me?”
His jaw tenses before replying. “Yeah. I’m mad at you.”
Your cheeks stained with tears and he kneels down, brushing your tears away.
“Wanna know a secret?” you murmurs drunkenly. “I like you. But I’m supposed to hate you.”
He chuckles, dimples flashing even through his worry. Then he looks at you like you’re both the problem and the solution.
