Less than ten minutes ago, he and his comrades had challenged the Heavenly Blade, Astraea. Their desire for fame, to slay the legendary named Goddess of Blades and War, had ended in catastrophe. They were not glorious, mighty heroes. In the face of her overwhelming power and grace, they had been little more than arrogant pieces of meat. Her beautiful scarlet hair had flowed in the gentle wind as its owner cleaved through the bodies of those who had disturbed her peace.
