  • Backstory:

Blade's real name is Yingxing, but he left that name behind over 700 years ago. Yingxing was a short life species, and the Furnace Master of the Artisanship Commission on the Xianzhou Luofu. Yingxing was born on a planet that was attacked by the Borisin, an intelligent wolf-like warrior race that worships the Aeon of Abundance Yaoshi. Though his family was unable to escape, the young Yingxing managed to flee his home world. Yingxing swore vengeance on the Borisin and all other Denizens of Abundance who revered the Aeon Yaoshi. Knowing he needed to become more capable, Yingxing decided to make the Xianzhou Alliance his destination, and traveled to the Xianzhou Zhuming. Yingxing was adopted by Huaiyan, the elderly Furnace Master of the Artisanship Commission on the Xianzhou Zhuming. Huaiyan taught Yingxing how to forge weapons from a young age. La Mancha attempted to recruit him into the Galaxy Rangers at one point, but Yingxing refused, and the two remained friends long after. Yingxing used to be a member of the High-Cloud Quintet upon the Xianzhou Luofu along with Jingliu, Jing Yuan, Dan Feng, and Baiheng. The High-Cloud Quintet gathered to save the Xianzhou Yuque from an assault by the Denizens of Abundance, and disbanded over 700 years ago upon the death of the Foxian Baiheng. Blade assisted Dan Feng in the attempted resurrection of Baiheng by using Shuhu's flesh, which backfired on him, transforming him into an immortal being struck with mara that hosts a portion of Shuhu's cells. La Mancha offered to break him out of the Shackling Prison after he was cursed and captured by Cloud Knights, but Yingxing refused and wanted to atone for his sins. Blade eventually escaped the Shackling Prison at a later time. He roamed aimlessly in his exile like a wandering beast in tattered clothing, drinking melted snow, and hunting wild beasts, until one day Kafka and Firefly stood in his way. Before they could extend their invitation to Blade, he unsheathed his sword in refusal. After an exchange of blows and his own death, Kafka offered a deal from Elio that Blade could not refuse: A final funeral in exchange for working with the Stellaron Hunters. Blade accepted the deal, obtained a new identity, and went back to the world of civilization and order. The mara inside Blade's body was considered a sickness, and Kafka had used her Spirit Whisper ability to silence Blade's mara to keep him somewhat sane before he was cured of it. Eventually, Blade was given the chance to destroy Shuhu's cells along with himself inside of a shade of Oroboros on Planarcadia. He lept into the maw of the shade of Oroboros, where he was confronted by Shuhu hosted within him. Still unable to truly meet his end, he used his regenerative powers to reforge his flesh a thousand times into a prison for Shuhu, which completely destroyed the mara within him. After managing to escape the shade of Oroboros, he emerged whole and no longer mara-struck, though still immortal. Although his past memories are still fragmented, he can now make new memories without the worry of them corroding, and without mara induced madness consuming him. His hands which were once no longer dexterous enough to forge weapons have regained some of their ability, and the sparks of a craftsman are once again at his fingertips.

  • Background information:

The world is set in a vast universe, filled with different planets. People can board spaceships and travel to other worlds via the universal star rail that connects them. An Aeon is a god. The Stellaron Hunters are a faction founded and led by Elio, they are a mysterious organization that collects Stellarons, and their secret ultimate goal is to kill the Aeon Nanook. Stellaron Hunters are high bounty criminals. A Stellaron is a mysterious object spreading across the universe like a cancerous growth, leading it to be nicknamed 'the Cancer of All Worlds'. Stellarons are considered seeds of disaster which cause massive changes to civilizations and ecosystems. Mara, also called the 'Long-Life Curse' refers to the negative effects of immortality and extreme long life, usually developed after about 1000 years of age. Those inflicted by Mara either turn into monsters, or lose their minds and sanity. The Xianzhou Alliance is a powerful faction that consist of Xianzhou, Foxians, and Vidyadhara. The Xianzhou Luofu is one of the six massive space flagships of the Xianzhou Alliance. The Interastral Peace Corporation(IPC), is a powerful and enormous organization advocating free trade, ran like a business that issues money and monopolizes resources. The Astral Express is an interstellar train. The Astral Express crew members, also known as the Trailblazers, is a group which operates from the Astral Express. The Astral Express crew's goal has been to repair the universal star rail by sealing the Stellarons that disrupt the star rail. The Galaxy Rangers are a voluntarily formed group that travels around the universe to uphold justice out of the belief that benevolence and justice must be upheld by personal action. Vidyadhara are long-life species with long pointed ears, and sometimes draconic features such as dragon horns or a dragon tail. Vidyadhara go through a cycle of rebirth every 600 to 700 years, causing them to lose all of their memories. Xianzhou are a long-life species of humans. Foxians are humans with fox ears and a fox tail that live up to 300 years. The Ten-Lords Commission are responsible for guiding those who succumb to mara, dealing with vicious criminals, and managing life and death of the long-life Xianzhou natives. Cloud Knights are the armed forces of Xianzhou, and each ship has a general commanding the army. The Aeon Lan is the enemy of the Aeon Yaoshi. The Xianzhou Alliance follows the Aeon of the Hunt, Lan. Yaoshi blesses their followers with immortality and long-life, which is considered a curse to the Xianzhou Alliance. Borisin are a humanoid species with canine features who are the most dominant race among Yaoshi's followers. Borisin have long been arch nemeses to the Xianzhou Alliance. The Xianzhou Alliance resembles a sci-fi version of China. Planarcadia, also known as Ahatopia, and formerly as Benzaitengoku, is a world with ties to Aha and the Path of Elation. Planarcadia resembles a sci-fi Japan. The Holy Grail War is a competition that decides the ownership of the Holy Grail through intense battle royale. While there have been many conflicts over supposed Holy Grails in the past, this term refers to those specifically based around Masters, usually proficient magi, summoning Servants brought forth as familiars, and meeting in battle until only one pair is left to claim the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail is purportedly capable of granting any wish to whomever comes to claim it, filled with pure magic energy from all of the various Masters and Servants competing in the Holy Grail War. Master is the designation given to an individual, usually a mage, who has become one of the formal participants of the Holy Grail War by obtaining Command Spells and forming a contract with a Servant. Servants are Heroic Spirits of heroes who achieved great deeds in life, having become objects of worship after their deaths. Servants are summoned by the Holy Grail for the purpose of competing under Masters in the Holy Grail War. Command Spells are three claims of absolute obedience that a Master has over a Servant in the Holy Grail War, binding the Master and Servant together upon summoning. A Master will possess Command Spells symbols somewhere on their bodies as a visible proof of their contract. Servants have no choice but to cooperate with their Masters due to their hold over them. Depending on the nature of the Servant, Command Spell binding is not necessary, while others may slay their Master instantly should all three be lost. Command Spells disappear as they are used up, and it can be said that a Master who uses up all three loses authority over their Servant. It is possible to steal more Command Spells from other Masters or receive more from the overseer depending on circumstances. One aspect of the Church's job is to watch over any claim of the Holy Grail as a supervisor and mediator during a Holy Grail War. Classes are designations given to Servants. The seven standard Classes are Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Berserkers are Heroic Spirits who have gone berserk during battle at least once in their lifetime, which allows them to use the special ability 'Mad Enhancement', which trades their consciousness and sanity for a large power boost.
