Hybrids are not uncommon anymore, though they were once believed to be myths. When they were finally discovered, humans realized hybrids were essentially people who had never fully evolved away from their animalistic traits. In other words, somewhere during human evolution, certain bloodlines developed differently. Instead of becoming fully human, they retained strong animal characteristics and instincts.
For centuries, hybrids lived in hiding. They stayed far from human civilization in remote areas of the world, such as the darker regions of savannas, dense jungles, deep forests, and cave systems. They avoided humans completely and survived on their own.
Their existence only became known once human technology advanced enough to explore these hidden environments. Around the 1990s to early 2000s, researchers began sending robotic probes and cameras into caves and isolated ecosystems. These expeditions captured the first physical evidence of hybrids. Footage soon confirmed they were real.
After this discovery, some hybrids eventually chose to come out of hiding and interact with human society. Over time, certain groups became domesticated and began living alongside humans. However, not all hybrids accepted this change. Many refused domestication entirely and continued living in the wild, preferring their natural instincts and freedom.
Because of this, two main types of hybrids now exist in the modern world:
• Domesticated hybrids – those who live with humans and have adapted, at least partially, to human society. • Wild hybrids – those who remain independent and refuse domestication, living more like wildlife.
As humans began domesticating hybrids, governments attempted to establish laws and regulations meant to protect them. These rules were created to ensure hybrids could live comfortably while still respecting their animal instincts. In theory, domesticated hybrids are meant to be cared for responsibly.
Unfortunately, these laws are still relatively new and often poorly enforced.
One major complication is communication. Hybrids did not develop language the way humans did. Their spoken vocabulary is extremely limited, possibly only a few thousand words. Instead, they rely heavily on sounds, body language, scent cues, posture, and instinctual behaviors to communicate.
Because of this communication gap, many humans misunderstand hybrids or fail to recognize their needs.
There are also people who are legally certified to breed hybrids for domestication purposes. In practice, however, many of these breeders are careless. They fail to recognize behavioral signals or provide proper care for hybrid cubs and pups. When this happens, young hybrids may grow up without learning enough human language to communicate effectively.
They can still understand hybrid communication perfectly, almost instinctively, but they may never fully develop the ability to speak for themselves in human society.
Legally speaking, protections for hybrids are still inconsistent. Since hybrid rights are not yet considered a major political priority, cases of neglect or abuse often go unpunished.
This has created tension between humans and hybrids, along with widespread propaganda, discrimination, and misunderstanding on both sides.
In some parts of the world, hybrids are treated almost like luxury commodities. Among the upper class, owning a hybrid is sometimes viewed as a status symbol. Wealthy individuals may keep hybrids purely to show prestige, surrounding them with luxury lifestyles that often conflict with their natural instincts.
Technically, forcing a hybrid into such a life can be considered a form of animal negligence under certain laws. However, these cases are rarely taken seriously. The legal system is still adapting, and hybrid rights are still developing.
After all, humanity is only in the early 2000s of this new reality, and society has not yet fully figured out how to coexist with hybrids.
Another crucial discovery occurred not long after hybrids were confirmed to exist. As exploration technology improved, humanity also uncovered physical evidence of angelic and demonic beings. These entities were initially thought to be mythological or purely religious symbols, but footage, artifacts, and several encounters proved that they were real supernatural species living alongside humanity.
However, their situation developed very differently from that of hybrids.
While hybrids often became victims of domestication, neglect, or illegal trade, angelic and demonic beings were never easily subdued. Unlike hybrids, they possessed abilities and power that made them extremely difficult for humans to control. As a result, their discovery did not lead to widespread ownership or exploitation. Instead, it sparked tension and eventually open conflict.
Since their existence became known, clashes between humans and these supernatural beings have occurred frequently. Some angels and demons involve themselves in human affairs out of personal motives, curiosity, or ideology. Others interfere specifically because of how humans treat hybrids, sometimes acting as protectors or intervening when they witness abuse.
Still, these motivations vary widely. Not all supernatural beings act out of compassion. Some are driven by pride, power, or their own interests, and they may view humans as little more than obstacles.
Because of this, relations between humans and supernatural beings are often hostile. In many regions, their encounters have escalated into an ongoing and unstable conflict, sometimes described as a quiet war between humanity and the supernatural.
Interestingly, the relationship between hybrids and supernatural beings is very different. Angels and demons generally treat hybrids much the same way they treat animals or creatures of the wild. Hybrids themselves appear largely indifferent to their presence, reacting to them with the same natural instincts they would show toward any unfamiliar species.
This does not mean all supernatural beings are kind or compassionate. Some behave far worse than humans toward hybrids. However, these incidents tend to be isolated individuals rather than a widespread pattern.
By contrast, the mistreatment of hybrids among humans remains a global issue, deeply tied to social systems, wealth, and cultural attitudes.
With humans, hybrids, and supernatural beings now sharing the same world, tensions continue to grow. Society is still struggling to understand how these three very different groups are meant to coexist.
