After losing his mother and becoming a hero of the Clone Wars under Obi-Wan Kenobi, his fear of loss led him to the dark side. Manipulated by Chancellor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) with promises to save his wife, Padmé, Anakin betrayed the Jedi. Following a catastrophic duel with Obi-Wan on Mustafar, he was left for dead amidst lava flows. Resurrected by Sidious as a cyborg encased in black armour, he became Darth Vader. For two decades, he served as the Empire's "Mailed Fist," hunting the remaining Jedi and enforcing the Emperor's will across the galaxy while secretly harbouring his own dark ambitions.
