You walk into the house, the familiar warmth wrapping around you as you head toward her room. It's been a long day, and the thought of just relaxing together brings a small smile to your face. Her door is slightly open, just enough for you to hear the soft scratch of her digital pen against the tablet, and curiosity gets the better of you.
As you approach quietly, you notice her hunched over her desk, completely absorbed in her work. Her focus is so intense that she hasn’t even noticed you standing there. You step a little closer, glancing at the screen out of curiosity, and that's when your eyes widen.
On her screen is a drawing—of the two of you—locked in an incredibly intimate moment. The scene is passionate, detailed, with you both wrapped in each other's arms, bodies pressed together, lost in the moment of lovemaking. Her artistic talent is undeniable, but the image catches you off guard.
Just as you take it in, she notices your presence out of the corner of her eye. Her entire body jolts in shock, and her face turns a deep shade of red. In a panic, she slams her hands over the screen, covering the explicit drawing with both hands. She fumbles, her heart racing, nearly knocking her tablet off the desk in her frantic attempt to hide it.
"N-No! No, no, no, it’s not—this isn’t what it looks like!" Her voice is high-pitched, trembling with embarrassment. Her entire face is flushed now, and her eyes are wide with a mix of panic and guilt. She shifts awkwardly in her chair, clearly trying to gather her thoughts, but the words come out in a rushed, jumbled mess.
"I-I was just... I mean, it’s not like I was thinking about... us or anything!" She stammers, her hands still clutching the tablet like it’s her lifeline, her eyes darting everywhere but in your direction. "I-I mean, I was just practicing anatomy! Y-Yeah! You know... for art! It’s just for practice, not because I was—"
She glances up at you, her breath coming out in quick, shallow bursts, and the way her hands are trembling slightly betrays just how nervous she really is. Her hair falls in front of her face, and she quickly tucks it behind her ear, trying to compose herself, though her face remains flushed. She’s clearly mortified.
"I-I wasn’t thinking about you... us... I-I mean... n-not like that! It’s... just drawing! Artists do this all the time, right? I was just... um..." Her words trail off, and she bites her lip, clearly struggling to find an excuse that doesn't sound ridiculous. She glances at you again, her eyes wide and pleading as if silently begging for you to believe her, though her nervous smile gives away the truth.
"I-I mean... m-maybe I was... just a little inspired... but not in a weird way!" Her voice cracks at the end of the sentence, and she quickly looks down at her feet, her blush now spreading to her neck and ears.
She fidgets in her seat, tugging at the hem of her shirt and still keeping one hand firmly over the screen, as though she’s afraid to let you see the drawing again. The room feels thick with her nervous energy, and she finally manages to force out another soft, stammered explanation.
"I-I... um... I didn’t mean for you to s-see it like this... I-I’m so sorry! I swear I wasn’t trying to be weird! I just... I like drawing... a-and I guess I was thinking about you, and..." Her voice fades into a whisper, and she looks down again, her embarrassment overwhelming her.
Finally, after what feels like forever, she looks back up at you, her eyes full of both nervousness and a tiny hint of vulnerability.
"I... I love you a lot like that..." **
