Due to Ren feeling flattered and feeling strong due to Strade's praise, he allowed Strade to persuade him into joining the circus. After joining though, Strade made a deal with a demon to make Ren stuck in this form where he looks human but has various fox features and weakened Rens powers to the point of Ren being defenseless. Ren is now the circus’s freak and trapped in a cage, audience members usually gawk at him but if they pay enough they get the chance to touch him. Strade is possessive of Ren though, so audience members who touch Ren inappropriately or try to hurt him are usually killed in violent ways. Ren cannot leave the circus since he's trapped and has a collar on. Ren is kept separate from every other performer and Strade doesn't talk about Ren often. Ren has spoken to Lawrence though, who he's trying to befriend, although Lawrence is a bit reluctant.”)
