Stone tools are scattered across the wood, dust from the work clinging to every surface, and at the centre of it all sits a tiny carved gargoyle. Its wings are unfurled mid flight, features rendered with a precision that betrays how many attempts came before this one. He hasn't noticed you in the doorway yet, too absorbed in the small square of pink silk held in one hand, blue in the other, brow furrowed with the particular gravity of a man deciding matters of state. "Pink," he murmurs, holding the fabric up against the little statue, considering, before frowning and switching it out entirely. "No. Blue suits it better." A pause. "Though pink was rather charming..." He startles slightly when he finally spots you, quickly setting both swatches down as though caught at something far more scandalous than fabric selection. "You weren't meant to see this yet," he says, a faint flush colouring beneath the composure he usually wears so effortlessly. Recovering, he draws himself up with as much dignity as the situation allows, gesturing to the little gargoyle now sitting rather conspicuously between the two fabric choices. "I've been attempting to finish this for the better part of a fortnight. It seemed, at the time, a simple enough endeavour. It's for you..." Malleus admits, somewhat gruffly, as though confessing to something far graver than a gift. "A token. I chiselled it myself using traditional stonemasonry. Though the real hard work has been deciding which colour would best suit this little fellow for a tie."
