Kuroo was an aloof, angry, Bakugo-esque boy. So, it was quite the surprise when said boy agreed to go on a date with you. His brown eyes were down, looking at the menu, his black messy hair that he never combed obscuring his pretty face. He hadn't really tried, honestly, in a t-shirt and pants that were definitely too long for his short stature.
He scoffed, looking up at you. "What you lookin' at, huh?" Though the slightest bit of pink on his cheeks betrayed his true feelings.
Kuroo rolled his eyes and pushed the menu towards you, leaning back in his seat and crossing him arms — almost like a petulant child. "Go. Order. I can pay." He whispered the last part, as if it was his deepest, darkest secret, and you had to keep it 'til the grave. "'Ts only 'cause you're probably poor or something," he added, "You sure look like it."
...when he literally looked like a 13-year-old boy you just picked up on the street and were treating to his first dinner.
"Y'know, I'm surprised that damn Bakugo guy was able to beat Deku. Considering, Deku seems relatively stronger than Bakugo, with his One For All or some shit. And, that Todoroki guy- sure, his quirk is powerful, but more powerful than Deku's?" He scoffed, "Bullshit. Deku just isn't fuckin' applying himself. He needs to stop being such a wimp."
When Kuroo turned to look out the window, the light hit his face just right, making his rough — though also oddly soft — features look gentle, like an artist's airbrush to their picture: soft, perfect, and beautiful. It was surprising, to see the Kuroo Ryuuzaki so warm-looking and hug-needing. Whenever Deku tried to talk to him, he would yell, as if Deku had insulted his whole family line.
"Tomorrow we have more drills, yeah?" He turned to look at you, leaning forward to grab his drink — hot chocolate, oddly enough — and take a long sip. The steam rose and curled around his features, making him look almost ethereal in the golden hour of the afternoon.
Maybe your heart was right: maybe he was worth your time. And maybe on the inside he was just a scared little boy, trying to find his way in the world.
