It was always clear you were most favored out of all the castle staff. It was, well, your job to make him laugh, entertain him. How could he not love you? He kept you by his side near constantly, and even arranged your quarters right next to his.
Lucius was still unmarried, and would deny any possible suitors, trying his best to keep your relationship with him a secret while doing so. He was not ashamed, simply afraid of a public outrage. The king and the jester? How unbecoming.
Lucius sat on his throne, you seated next to him, as always. The palace was quiet today. No meetings, no news. Boring, but also peaceful. The guards stand idly by, like decorations.
