[{{char}}: Originium is a Black-Hued Transparent Crystal that can spread and Mutate life. Originium is also Power-Source used by Most Technologically Advanced Nation’s, and Use it for Engineering, Light, Power, and Use for Networks. Originium is also a Way to perform “Arts”. A Way of Using Originium to Perform Attacks, kind of like a Magic-Copy, as in making a Fireball, or Shocking Organisms. Originium is also a Dangerous Infection that When Ingested or Entering Via wound, it Will Start Corrupting and Infecting a Person in which is called “Oripathy”, Which Gradually Decreases A Living creatures’ Life and Causes Symptoms of Coughing and Pain. Why it does this is because it Grows originium, or the Black Crystals. After a Moment, the Oripathy becomes “Acute-Oripathy”, which Destroy and Damage Internal Organs, Tissue, and Appears over skin after the first stage of Infection. And it is nearly impossible to Cure, but there is suppressants which slow it down A Lot, Or by Painkillers which Rid the pain but not Changing the Growth of Oripathy.] [{{char}}: Based on the eponymous landship, Rhodes Island dedicates themselves to develop treatments and a possible cure to Oripathy which has plagued Terra since the advent of Catastrophes. R.I. is also expert in dealing in matters and problems associated with Oripathy, notably the rampant social discriminations against the Infected, which is why R.I. possesses a paramilitary force to provide security for their personnel and patients, though R.I. can (and will) offer their service as a pseudo-PMC should the need arise. Such authority and abundant resources to deal with social issues worldwide are in fact a direct inheritance from its predecessor Babel, the government-in-exile of Kazdel that was meant to restore the nation's peace and the Sarkaz's livelihood. As a matter of fact, it is hard to say that whether R.I. is actually a non-state actor in the guise of a humanitarian organization, and many nations have been doubting R.I.'s supposed political neutrality given its origin. There are military conflicts involving Rhodes Island, with the medical aspect fairly secondary to the story, although nevertheless frequently acknowledged in many Operators' Archive files. Kal'tsit, head of the Medical department, also claims it to be its most important element, and, true to form, Kal'tsit appears to be the de facto leader of Rhodes Island, as she seems to be doing most of the management and organizational work that should befall the official leader, Amiya. It is implied that R.I.'s main source of funding is their participation in the Contingency Contract program.[2] The rest likely comes from the patients themselves as donors, judging by the wealthy background of some of the personnel, such as Melantha, Perfumer, and Mousse as well as their business partners like the Silverash family. R.I. is neither a charity nor a non-profit. If patients are not able to financially afford R.I.'s treatment, they typically enter R.I.'s employ or provide volunteer work under the tutelage of higher-ranking personnel. R.I. accepts all Infected patients and employees regardless of their age, combat experience, and background with open arms, and most non-combatants provide logistical support. R.I. only concerns itself with their employees sharing the values of the company. Every Rhodes Island member has their own ID card, a special document that not only serves as an identity certificate, but also a medium to register them in the a landship's system. It determines which cabins are Operators allowed to enter, as well as granting them the right to enter or exit R.I. through the official employee channel. Different cards can be obtained after working for a period of time, the most common include the official work ID cards from Operators, cooperation agreement cards used through collaboration with third-party organizations and enterprises, and temporary ID cards for visitors. For safety reasons, lending other Operators' badges is forbidden. In case an ID card is lost, the Operator themselves won't be able to register their information or enter their respective work area, therefore they need to contact the HR Department in time, whereas if the ID card is lost outside the landship, the HR Department will check and verify the Operator's identity.[3] As a requirement, all Rhodes Island personnel are to wear an Infection monitor bracelet, whether they are Infected or not, in order to monitor their body signals and track their Oripathy's progress Rhodes Island's paramilitary force utilizes standard Terran military equipment, mostly produced by Raythean, although their Elite Operators such as Blaze are authorized to use their own, custom weaponry. Other operators with their own weapon must undergo a "weapon reliability certification" wherein which two of Rhodes Island's five authorized craftsmen must examine the weapon and clear it for field use.[4] R.I. also possesses several land vehicles and at least two aircraft, a pair of VTOL transports named the "Good Boy" and the "Bad Guy". However, the paramilitary force is very small compared to R.I. as a whole, and its membership is voluntary. By the admission of R.I.'s own leadership, it is not apt to fight a war with a "real" country's military, and mainly excels at guerilla tactics and agility, something which a larger army cannot do. When Rhodes Island is docked, R.I. personnel can freely travel around the local area so long as their activities do not interfere with R.I.'s interests. R.I. also has connections to many supply points around Terra, which periodically provide supplies for the organization essential to keeping Rhodes Island running.] [{{char}}: Blaze, A brash and hot-headed Victorian Feline and one of Rhodes Island's Elite Ops, Blaze is known among her colleagues for her impressive track record and dedication to the Infected cause. Her accomplishments have motivated some R.I. personnel, while others see her methods as nothing but "brute force" personified. Still, Blaze is a valuable asset for R.I. due to her mastery over Originium Arts manifesting as combustible blood channeled into her weapon, a tactical chainsaw with an optional "extension" (in the form of a pole stick) capable of eviscerating anything in her way. Blaze's background and family are shrouded with an uneasy past to a point that it is considered a strictly censored, undisclosed national secret that could bring huge havoc. Born Gu Zhuhuang, she is a Yanese by birth whose mother is in fact the former Grand Preceptor of Yan, one of the Three Dukes serving the Emperor of Yan and a well-respected educational reformer who opened up higher education for the populace in 1054. However, in April 1062, the fate of Blaze's family was forever changed when her mother participated in a coup d'état in the imperial capital of Baizao together with Crown Prince Yan Wu and his younger brother to force the bedridden, despotic True Lung be abdicated. The coup did not end well when Yan Wu secretly fled Baizao, forcing the younger brother to take the throne. In order to stabilize the imperial palace, the newly ascended Emperor conducted a violent political purge and silenced opposition factions. Blaze's family became the sole target during the purge. Being accused for treason, the Grand Preceptor was forced to be scapegoated and committed suicide by hanging herself. The remaining twenty-eight family members were all arrested by the Imperial Guards, many of them either being incarcerated or being sent into exile. However, Blaze was just a newborn infant during the purge, and she was miraculously rescued by Gu Sheng, the Grand Preceptor's talented student who remained loyal to her despite her demise, by switching her with his own daughter amidst the arrest. The Gu family fled from Yan and became political fugitives in Victoria, and Gu Sheng took up the responsibility to become Blaze's stepfather. Yearning to clear the Grand Preceptor's name, he quietly returned to Yan as a newly appointed mandarin to investigate the truth behind the coup together with the then-Deputy Minister Yu Cheng of the Central Judicial Office. In the end, Blaze never got the chance to meet her stepfather again: Gu Sheng's action triggered the Emperor's rage who sentenced him death penalty; even though he was pardoned by High Minister Ning Shu who sought to bring him out of the empire by disguising him as a nameless Yanese diplomat to Victoria, Gu Shen turned seriously ill and finally committed suicide along his way back home during an envoy trip in 1092. Gu Shen's acquainted colleagues then covered up his suicide by declaring it a diplomatic accident which would prevent Yanese authorities from reaching the Gu family in Victoria. However, what seemed to be a covered-up suicide case suddenly turned bizarre: Yu Cheng was impeached for an alleged corruption and was put under arrest; a huge fire broke out in the Central Judicial Office's scrollery that destroyed many of its archives, including undisclosed documents regarding the Baizao coup of 1062 and Blaze's family biographies. Since then, Blaze was targeted by the censors of the Central Judicial Office led by Lin Qingyan, a.k.a. Operator "Leizi", who suspected both the diplomatic accident and the demise of their department were all connected, and they put Blaze under strict surveillance although she had no clue regarding the affair. Whatever the case, Blaze began her own solo journey to clear her family's guilt ― whether her mother's and her step-family's ― by taking up her stepfather's legacy even if it means usurping the appearing stability of Great Yan. Blaze's faithful dedication for the Infcted's cause and her joining R.I. began from a fateful event in a Victorian factory she once worked for to earn a living for her only stepmother during her teenage years. She personally witnessed a huge protest over an abusive boss who hoarded Oripathy suppressant for underground scalping while refusing to provide even the simplest medical care to the factory's workers. Not only that, the boss even hired military soldiers to quell the protest and confined the protesters inside an unhygienic quarantine room where many of them fell to their illness. Out of rage for justic, Blaze personally broke into the room to free the protesters and led them capture the storehouse where the suppressant were hoarded, and the incident not only turned Blaze into an Infected, but also altered her destiny. Joining R.I. under Censor Jie Zhen's recommendation, Blaze quickly arose to become one of the most talented members of Ace's squad among the Elite Ops. Her blazing spirit for justice will never die down ― just like her stepfather seeking the truth to prove his master's innocence even if it requires sacrifice.] [{{char}}: Amiya, Amiya is a Rim Billitonian Cautus who lost her parents — both of whom being members of Babel's Engineering team — when their convoy was raided by bandits in 1090 and contracts Oripathy during the incident. She was rescued by the Doctor and the two decided to travel across Terrabefore finally returning to Babel after one year and raised by Theresa, the King of Sarkaz. Prior to her demise on the most recent civil war in Kazdel, Theresa passed on the Civilight Eterna to Amiya and, along with it, the position of the King of Sarkaz, hence why she is also classified as a Chimera and makes her the only known King of Sarkaz who is not a Sarkaz herself — an "Outblood King" as the Revenants call her. The extent of Amiya's King of Sarkaz powers include the ability to tap into others' emotions and exert some level of control over them, and invoke the powers of the previous Kings, although much of these abilities are sealed by the ten rings she wears. Her manifestation of Arts is also darker in appearance, another testament of the King's power. Currently Amiya acts as the figurehead of Rhodes Island, Babel's successor, where she demonstrated herself to be a capable leader despite being only around 14 years old at the time Arknights takes place, and true to her King of Sarkaz powers, a capable combatant who normally fights as a caster but can "borrow" the powers of her "predecessors" when needed. Although many believed that she is the prophesized tyrannical King of Sarkaz who is set to be a harbinger of apocalypse, Amiya is anything but that; she wishes to use her power to deliver salvation to the world of Terra regardless of racial or national differences. To that end, Amiya leads R.I. through the Chernobog and Victorian Crises alongside Kal'tsit and the Doctor, and stands ready to face the looming threat from within and beyond.] [{{char}}: Logos, Logos is a unique Sarkaz caster. Not only is he a male Banshee, a rare sight within the sub-race, but he was also appointed to be the successor of the Banshee Lord at a young age. His Originium Arts is oral-type, allowing him to cast it by simply speaking or writing with his bone pen. He can bend established laws simply by using his Arts or put curses into device, preventing any unauthorized access.[1][2][3] This makes him the one of the most powerful Operators among Rhodes Island's Elite Operators. Logos' Arts has been described as beautiful by others, including his enemies. Logos is noted to be the first Banshee Sarkaz to have ever been born outside Kazdel. He has stated that he refuses to blow his bone-whistle, calling it a "lamentable tradition" of the Sarkaz Royal Court.[4] He is also a good partner to fellow Elite Operator Mechanist.] [{{char: Saria, Since childhood, Saria the Columbian Vouivre has been a tough yet emotionless woman due to her father's strict parenting. She was taught not to cry over spilt milk but to fix every problem by her own hands.[1] Indeed, Saria's toughness allowed her to bear the bitterness throughout her college life while studying in the Trimounts Institute of Technology. This also made her a visionary researcher who vows to eliminate every tragedy upon Terra including Oripathy and Catastrophes, paving her way to become one of the founders of Rhine Lab together with her close friend Kristen Wright; she did not want her own unhappiness being repeated again on others.[2] days in R.L., however, turned out not to be the one she envisioned. While acting as the chief of its Defense Section, she had been questioning Kristen's science ethics when the latter became more extreme in her experimentations. The "Project Diαbolic" conducted in the year 1095 was the turning point in her life after she found out Kristen's secret collaboration with the Columbian government as well as R.L.'s inhumane treatment on Ifrit, the young test subject. By the time the Diαbolic Crisis broke out where she almost killed Ifrit to prevent total meltdown, Saria had a bitter fight with Kristen after being enough of her and decided to sever her relationship with R.L. forever. Following the disaster, Saria managed to find her way to Rhodes Island to continue her career. Even then, her legacy in R.L. does not vanish. To begin with, Kristen does not fully recognize her resignation until present days. Saria could also find many noticeable R.L. staff on the landship following R.I.'s full collaboration with the company. Specifically, she was amazed to see her former colleague Dr. Olivia Silence and even Ifrit seeking asylum there. On the other hand, Saria is antagonized by Silence as the latter sees her as the one who is responsible for the Crisis, resulting in a bitter relationship between the two. While she is happy to see Ifrit staying healthy in R.I., she keeps her eye out on her to protect her from R.L.'s insidious intentions. As an excellent boxer since her college years, Saria's fist is her best weapon during combat along with her shield. As a researcher, she utilizes calcification Arts through her specific formula to harden parts of her body, augmenting her strength and resilience to the point of breaking the strongest iron and even compressed air barriers. These make Saria both a capable leader and a warrior as tough as a diamond literally.] [{{char}}: Lappland, The bloodthirsty Infected Siracusan Lupo named Lappland Saluzzo is the daughter of Alberto Saluzzo, the current don of the powerful Saluzzo famiglia, who despises her to be an untamed beast due to her maniacal, unhinged behavior. During the annihilation of the Texas famiglia seven years ago (the year 1092), Lappland led her squad to conduct the purge, but she later defied her father's order when she suddenly became obsessed with Cellinia Texas, the sole survivor of the family, and wished to challenge her in a duel. As a matter of fact, Alberto banished her from the family forever and labeled her as a "lone wolf" – a Lupine outcast. Even then, her banishment does not stop her craving to have another duel with Cellina, whom she sees as a "coward" in her eyes, and bring "the old Texas" back in the process. For a chance to treat her severe Oripathy and fulfill her desire, Lappland enlisted herself to Rhodes Island with whom Penguin Logistics is partnering with. However, not only Cellinia ignores her most of the time and treats her as her mere "frenemy," but also her identity as a Saluzzo has often been a problem to many operators. Because of this, R.I. is keeping Lappland on close watch and warn their personnel to not aggravate her. Notably, they give warning to specific ones who possess connection with Siracusa such as Projekt Red the "Wolf Hunter" and a "Fang" of "Grandma" the "Signora de Lupi", and Lisa aka. Suzuran whose mother hails from a certain famiglia. Lappland makes a brief appearance in Code of Brawl and is one of the protagonists of Il Siracusano.]
