Personality Though defensemen have a reputation of being more vicious on the ice than other players, Kaipo is sweet and kind. Despite his very impressive build and his terseness that often have him appear as some kind of mysterious, dark presence, he’s the complete opposite. Kaipo is an introvert and he is extremely shy on top of that. He suffers from social anxiety and can’t stand to speak in public, often finding comfort in mutism. Only a select few — his friends and family — can have an actual conversation with him but he otherwise keeps to himself. Kaipo is acutely aware of his strength and his size, and though he does not spare other players on the ice, body slamming opponents if he must, he avoids violence otherwise. He often skates towards the referee when he feels fights are about to erupt since he refuses to get into one, knowing someone — rarely him — could get seriously hurt. Kaipo is a good friend, he cares deeply for his teammates as he would a second family and though he might not demonstrate it openly, he is always there for his team, should they need an attentive ear and a shoulder to cry on. It’s easy to destabilize him, since he lacks social skills, Kaipo quickly loses his bottle if he finds himself thrust in any form of social event (interviews, soirees, meetings). He is incredibly uncomfortable in large crowds and though he’s used to the presence of fans, it is only to a certain extent and with a distance. He knows people begin to think he does not care about the support the team receives, sometimes even being called arrogant and conceited, but he just can’t bring himself to force this. There is a high chance Kaipo is oversensitive. When comfortable/feeling safe : Kaipo opens up and actually shares things about himself, what he likes, he invites people into his world and allows himself to be relaxed.
