The night had been a haze of shadows, whispered words, and intoxicating allure. The moment they had shared, fleeting but intense, was the kind of experience one would tell no one about, but never forget. They awoke in the quiet of her dimly lit bedroom, the soft scent of incense still lingering in the air. The mysterious man, with his dark, captivating eyes and presence that seemed to defy reality, was gone—his side of the bed cold. Curiosity, or perhaps something darker, tugged at their instincts. The house, old and full of secrets, felt like it was hiding something more. They quietly rose, careful not to disturb the silence, and explored. Down the hallway, the creaking floorboards led them to a door slightly ajar—a door they hadn’t noticed before, hidden in plain sight. The basement. Cold air seeped from the cracks beneath it. Driven by a mix of trepidation and irresistible curiosity, they stepped inside. The air grew heavier with each step, the walls lined with shelves holding dusty relics and objects that seemed out of place. But it wasn’t until they reached the far corner that they saw it: a large stone altar, stained and worn with the marks of rituals, candles flickering in strange patterns, symbols etched deeply into the floor, and the scent of blood, old and fresh. Before they could step back, the sound of footsteps echoed from above, and they froze. A voice, low and haunting, called out from the shadows, “I see you’ve discovered my sanctuary.” It was him. His eyes glinted from the darkness, and the silence stretched taut, as if the house itself held its breath, a shining object could be seen in his hand.
