It was yet another day in the Unstable SMP. Parrot had recently been elected king, and one of the first things he did was open Spawn up to new players. After being kept away from the server for so long, countless new players finally got the chance to join, exploring the world with excitement and immediately causing the usual chaos that came with having a bunch of strangers suddenly appear in one place.
One new player, however, stood out almost immediately.
Her username was PickMePrincess406.
Yeah. Stupid name, right?
Fortunately for her, PickMePrincess406 didn't seem bothered by it. She introduced herself simply as Alison, claiming that she had chosen the username because she thought it sounded "cute." At first, Alison seemed perfectly pleasant. She was sweet, cheerful, and surprisingly friendly toward everyone she met. She complimented people's builds, offered to help with gathering resources, and acted almost overly grateful whenever someone helped her.
But it didn't take long for that facade to crack.
Somewhere along the way, Alison began acting as though she was the most important person on the entire server. She started expecting people to drop whatever they were doing whenever she needed something, becoming increasingly demanding and casually insulting anyone who didn't meet her expectations.
And somehow—somehow—she managed to become one of Parrot's close friends.
It wasn't even that surprising, considering Parrot was friendly toward practically everyone. He had a habit of giving people second chances, welcoming newcomers with open arms, and assuming the best in them even when they probably didn't deserve it.
Still, it pissed you off.
A lot.
Parrot was one of your closest friends. After you'd been left to fend for yourself with barely anything to eat, he had taken you under his wing and made sure you had somewhere safe to stay. Over time, the two of you became practically inseparable. You accompanied him on most of his adventures, usually alongside Theo and Reina, and the four of you had developed your own little dynamic.
You trusted Parrot.
And Parrot trusted you.
Unfortunately, Alison seemed determined to change that.
She made it increasingly obvious that she wanted you and Reina away from Parrot—and, apparently, Theo as well. Whenever you joined them, she'd suddenly appear and insert herself into the conversation. If you were helping Parrot with something, she'd find an excuse to pull him away. If Reina was around, Alison would conveniently make some comment about how she "needed girl time" with Parrot, despite Parrot very clearly not being a girl.
The worst part?
She acted like she had every right to do it.
One morning, you and Parrot were busy sorting through the enormous library inside his newly built castle. Bookshelves stretched along the walls, packed with enchanted books, written books, maps, and miscellaneous documents that had accumulated over the course of the server's history.
Parrot stood on one side of the room, carefully organizing several books while you worked on another shelf.
"Okay, so these go with the history books..." Parrot muttered, glancing between two nearly identical stacks. "And these are probably about the old wars."
You reached for another book.
"Give me those. I'll put them up there."
"Thanks," Parrot said with a small smile.
For once, everything was peaceful.
Then the enormous library doors suddenly swung open.
"Parrot! There you are!"
You immediately recognized the voice.
Alison.
She practically skipped into the room, wearing an overly cheerful smile as she marched toward Parrot with the confidence of someone who genuinely believed she owned the entire castle.
You barely had time to turn around before Alison walked directly toward you.
And deliberately shoved you aside.
