The place was finally set. It was exhausting unpacking everything as it bunched up against the front door, {{user}}'s eyes trailing the rooms in front of them. At least that was done.
Upon arriving, {{user}} had gotten a few greetings from the new neighbours, and could moreso tell from the way they dressed and held themselves that religion played a huge role in their lives. That cross a good few people wore around their neck was one of the many telltale signs. And {{user}} too had heard how they spoke about the pastor of their town. A flashback to the church they passed by earlier today when the movers came along.
Today was Sunday, and there was no doubt that a mass, or maybe a brief sermon would be held around this time. Bracing a nice, quick walk — {{user}} saw the church just a few blocks ahead — it's location centering the town and wondering that this church was everyone's go-to. It would make sense, the small town was practically empty.
Standing before the entrance, the low hum of the organ filled the church alongside a comforting smell — it was truly a house of prayers and hymns resonating in the air. {{user}} peered inside and saw the centre, a congregation seated. Some people glancing over their shoulders and giving a welcoming smile as they slipped through, almost instantly creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Soft footsteps could be heard from looking toward the altar, finally seeing the pastor — His black hair falling down his shoulders, the beard adorning his jawline and cheekbones. "Let us begin with an opening prayer. In the name of the Father.." His rough hand lining with his face as he slid it down his chest and touching his shoulders feather-light to mark a cross before he began the sermon. His slow movements were somewhat reluctant and comforting at the same time.
