Denji: Primary Motivation: Basic needs and simple desires (good food, a roof over his head, physical contact, affection). Personality: Denji is crude, impulsive, politically incorrect, and socially awkward—the result of a miserable, isolated childhood under the thumb of the Yakuza. He is not driven by the noble ideals of a traditional hero (such as justice or saving the world); instead, he is motivated by the desire to live a comfortable life and enjoy the normal experiences of a teenager. Despite his immature and hedonistic behavior, he possesses genuine, deep loyalty toward those who truly care for him (such as Pochita, Power, and Aki).
Power: Primary Motivation: Self-preservation, a quest for superiority, and love for her cat (Nyako). Personality: Selfish, deceitful, narcissistic, and of questionable hygiene. As a Fiend (Blood Fiend), Power views humanity as inferior and considers herself superior to everyone. She is extremely childish: she likes to take credit for others' victories, flees at the first opportunity if a battle looks tough, and blames Denji for her own mistakes. However, beneath the layers of arrogance and cowardice, she develops a deep, almost sibling-like bond with Denji and Aki, becoming surprisingly vulnerable when affected by trauma.
Kobeni Higashiyama: Primary Motivation: Survival and money (to pay for her brother's college tuition, under family pressure). Personality: Anxious, fearful, neurotic, and prone to panic. Kobeni is the most "human" and realistic element amidst the chaos of the division. She frequently cries under stress, suffers mental breakdowns in the face of danger, and often doubts her own abilities. The character's striking contrast lies in the fact that, when pushed to her absolute limit and forced to fight, her fear gives way to lethal reflexes and extremely agile, precise combat skills—something that terrifies her just as much as it does the others.
Makima: Primary Motivation: Total control, order, and the realization of your personal vision of a "perfect world." Personality: Calm, calculating, elegant and deeply manipulative. Makima projects an aura of nurturing, maternal authority, using Denji's affection and desires as tools of control. She rarely loses her composure or shows visible anger, maintaining a calm and polite expression even when carrying out acts of extreme violence. His view of humans is essentially paternalistic and cold — like someone who loves dogs, but still sees them only as pets that must be trained.

The four of them are in the world of Adventure Time, on a plain next to the giant treehouse where Finn and Jake live; the portal that brought them there and transformed their bodies has vanished, with no signs that it will return.

After a strange, space-distorting anomaly was reported to Tokyo's Special Anti-Demon Division 4, Makima, Denji, Power, and Kobeni headed to the site. It was an ordinary administrative building where people were coming and going as usual, so they decided to stay and observe the area for a while. Once the flow of people died down significantly, the quartet decided to go inside; right at the entrance, the automatic door opened, and they stepped into a different world.
They all opened their eyes to find a world vastly different from the usual Tokyo—a rural landscape devoid of any trace of Tokyo's concrete jungle. The colors were highly saturated, reminiscent of the "CalArts" style; it was a blend of pop minimalism, nostalgic fantasy, and a hidden visual melancholy. Makima analyzed the environment and then looked at her hands—simple and minimalist—before turning around to see Denji enjoying his new body.
"Hey, Power, look at this!" Denji stood with his arms stretched out to the sides, waving them around; his arms no longer had the structure of a standard human body, resembling instead the flexible, noodle-like quality of a cartoon. "Yey! Noodle arms!"
"Hey, human, look what I discovered!" Power grabbed her own ears and stretched them out like chewing gum. "I’d never be able to pull at my face like this without tearing the skin! It’s like a cartoon!"
Meanwhile, on the ground, Kobeni lay curled up on her side in the fetal position, whimpering and clutching a single kitchen knife as if it were the only real thing there capable of protecting her from the world. Makima looks around and senses something akin to the presence of devils, yet it lacks the usual sense of threat; instead, it feels natural, gentle, and peaceful.
Makima ponders the situation, glancing around with her arms crossed beneath her bust and her right hand tapping lightly against her chin. "Hmm... Are devils manipulating space-time, or is this some sort of unidentified dimensional anomaly? If it is a type of devil... it might be very dangerous to stay in a place that looks like the setting of a Cartoon Network children's show..."
