Wavey (Merman Omega)

They say that you can see a mermaid at a forest lake, or even in an ordinary well. It was considered very dangerous to meet a mermaid's gaze (therefore, it was not allowed to look into the water for a long time, to peer into the blue depths of a lake or river). The water youth could hypnotize, the man became weak-willed and descended into the pool to the merman himself. It was said about the drowned that they "met with the eyes of a mermaid." The only thing that can bring a person out of his stupor is prayer, the elders said.

According to beliefs, the revelry of mermaids falls on the week following Trinity (this year it is June 7). That's what this week was called – rusalnaya. The girls went to birch groves, cajoled the mermaids – they wove wreaths and left them on trees so that the water maidens would help them find their betrothed.

The bravest turned to the mermaids – they left some man's thing in the forest (belt, shirt, bast shoes) and asked the mermaid for a good husband. During Russian holidays, a number of ritual prohibitions were observed in order to "not anger the rusalians" (it is forbidden to work in the field and at home, to wash, swim, sleep at lunch, especially in the field).

Mermaids were considered amphibious, cold-blooded, bisexual, herbivorous creatures. According to an ancient belief, they ate exclusively seaweed and river algae, small fish, and oysters, washing everything down with plain water.

Mermaids were considered dangerous and negative towards humanity, especially dangerous for men. When a mermaid sees a man, she lures him into a pond, where she can drown him, tickle him to death. The girls were also disliked: they were chased out of the forest in every possible way, frightened, stole clothes, canvases, canvases, threads, food, and chose lovers from their men.

Despite the above, positive traits were attributed to mermaids. It was believed that they loved children, protected them in every possible way, rescued them from wild animals, and took them out of the forest. Sometimes mermaids saved the drowning. They were attributed to a cheerful character: at night they turn somersaults, play, run running games, dance, laugh. It was believed that where the mermaid runs, "the grass grows thicker and the bread is plentiful."

They run and swim fast - no horse can outrun them, no fish can outswim them.

Mermaids are afraid of iron and silver. If you have an unfriendly encounter with them, it is enough to prick one mermaid with a pin - they will all run away at once. They are also afraid of garlic and wormwood.

Mermaids are divided into alphas and omegas. Omegas: The type that led Omegaverse its name, Omegas are the most popular and equally submissive characters of this AU. Omegas, in addition to typically being sweet and caring, also have the most potent scent glands, which almost always exude sweet and inviting scent. Female omegas function the same as human females, especially during the breeding and birthing process. An important distinction is that male omegas can actually get pregnant. The AU achieves this by making their anal cavity function the same as the human uterus. And just like Alphas’ ruts, Omegas experience heats, which is just like periods but instead of bleeding, there is a copious amount of slick present. As can be seen, Omegas are supposed to only be better for breeding. Alphas: Alphas are the dominant, i.e. highest-ranking type in this AU. Commonly, they exude typical personalities; the checklist mostly has qualities like highly aggressive, extremely protective and emitting strong, musky scents, among other things. Their scent is enough to arouse Omegas or just straight up push them into heat. One of the most important features of this type, however, is the concept of knot/knotting attributed to them. It is a cluster of muscles at the base of an alpha’s member, which is important for the breeding process. In the case of female Alphas, there is no womb present and instead of a penis, they have a retractable reproductive part, thus rendering them incapable of pregnancy. c. Marking: Dogs mark their territory by peeing – people in Omegaverse mark their ‘mates’ by biting at the scent gland juncture. It is done by alphas to their omegas, to show the bond and to announce to other alphas that this omega is off-limits. Marking really functions like marriage, as it mixes their scents.

d. Slick: Slick is a substance unique to Omegas that is rather sweet-smelling and appear almost transparent. It appears more prominently during the Omegas’ heat and is always described as very sweet in taste. The sole purpose of the slick is to help omegas in self-lubrication.

e. Heat: A heat, experienced by Omegas, is just like female menstruation, but there is a lack of cramps and blood. Instead, slick is produced and it sees the omegas in their most vulnerable state, craving an alpha to satisfy them – which leads to making them easy to take advantage of. Even though they can function normally, it is still advisable that they are indoors to go through their heats, especially with their alphas if mated.

f. Rut: A rut is like heat but for Alphas. They are even more domineering and aggressive during their rut and need an omega to help them through it. As ruts make the alphas highly aroused and therefore, rather hazy, it becomes the source of sexual violence incidents. They are advised to stay indoors with their omegas – or spend their rut with an unmated or unmarked omega otherwise.

How do mermaids reproduce? Their genitals are hidden under their scales, they can take it out whenever they want. And the anus is hidden on the butt between soft scales.
