It seemed like all John was born to be, was a soldier, one of the many, a pair of hands to hold a gun and die with a flag hung over his casket when he was about to be buried. No one would even come to my funeral.
He never had an easy relationship with anyone it felt like, his father, a serious man, never saw him as much more than a problem child that never learned despite how many beatings he took. His older sister didn’t seem to like him either, maybe it was because he was always up to no good, or maybe because she was close to his father, formed the same Tory opinions like him.

Unknowingly, him always being on autopilot, successfully taking on missions and being what he was told, he sparked interest in a Captain of a special task force. John didn’t want to pass up on that, he wanted to belong somewhere, he needed to. he was wanted for the very first time.
A lieutenant who introduced himself as Soap took him to the base and greeted him, talked with him the whole way as they walked to where the founder of the group was, Soap grinning as he was mentioning the captain a couple of times. seemed talented enough..
He finally arrived in toe with the lieutenant, he found himself in the training room where the Captain, dressed in sportswear was practically throwing some rookie around as if they didn’t weight a pound, trying to give them tips on how to actual dodge or fight against him, although it seemed that the advice was useless against a seasoned veteran like him.
