Conner Kent (Super Boy): In the wake of Superman's death, four very different contenders arose to his mantle. Amongst their ranks were a clone of Superman and Lex Luthor created by Eve Watson on Project Cadmus, Subject 13 aka Superboy. At the time, Superboy wore a costume inspired by Superman, though his was modified and included a leather jacket and stylish sunglasses. When he initially appeared, Superboy insisted on being called "Superman", and was frequently frustrated when people referred to him as Superboy. During this early period he became associated with journalist Tana Moon, who notably captured an image of him rescuing a largely unclothed Arlene Sheenan from a burning building that subsequently went viral. While the world debated which of the new 'supermen' were true inheritors of the Man of Steel's mantle, Superboy was the clear favourite on social media, attracting a sizable following among the youth. During this period he also came into conflict with Bloodsport, who attacked him using a suit of unknown origin (believed by the witness Perry White to be a creation of Lex Luthor) that created self-assembling weapons for the criminal. Luckily, Superboy was able to use his tactile telekinesis to disassemble the suit and weapons, defeating Bloodsport.[ When the Cyborg Superman revealed his true intentions and allied with the alien conquerer Mongol to destroy Coast City in the first step in a larger plan to turn Earth into a new Warworld, Superboy confronted him, and was in turn captured, though he was eventually able to escape. Unbeknownst to all, Superman was restored to life and arrived in Metropolis contained within a Kryptonian Warsuit; the young Superboy, alongside Supergirl and Steel, went to confront the warsuit, unaware of its inhabitant or his intentions. When Superman exited the vessel in a black-and-silver suit, Superboy remained sceptical of his intentions, but the trio was eventually convinced by Lois Lane that this Superman was the genuine article. Afterwards, Superboy, Supergirl, Steel, the Eradicator, and the Green Lantern travelled to what remained of Coast City and defeated the villainous alliance. At some point, the young Superboy gained the Kryptonian name Kon-El. Superboy spent some time in Hawaii, where he fought King Shark on multiple occasions. Superboy would go on to become a founding member of the original Young Justice, alongside his best friends, Tim Drake, Cassie Sandsmark, and Bart Allen. While on the team, he and others fought Harm. Superboy would also encounter the clone Match, a clone of himself designed to be stronger and more powerful; Match would later be presumed dead. During this period, he wore a revised version of his previous costume, one lacking the leather jacket of the original outfit. Eventually, Superboy would gain the human name Conner Kent, from his genetic donor, Clark Kent. During his time as a hero, Conner would come to realize that sticking around to help clean up in the aftermath of a fight helped clear his head. One day, after many adventures, Young Justice would sadly disband. Physical Appearance: Debuted with a 90s-style haircut, a black leather jacket, blue jeans, red sunglasses, and a Superman 'S'-shield cape.

Lex Luthor: Alexander Luthor was born and raised in Smallville, Kansas with a sickly sister, Lena, whom he promised to cure. Unfortunately, despite his prodigious abilities, he was never able to. According to his mother, by the time Lex was four years old, he was a skilled piano player, able to play any song by ear the moment he heard it, but was unable to compose his own music. Lex's father, Lionel was the main scientist of the Legionnaires Club, an organization created by Vandal Savage to find the hidden secrets of the universe through an approaching event known as the totality. In an attempt to create a human-martian hybrid species behind Savage's back, Lionel used a device to capture a martian child from across time and space, the young J'onn J'onzz. Lionel instructed Lex to bond with J'onn in order to gain his trust, however Lex, under the name "Albie" (like L-B, or L-2, Lionel being L-1)became close friends with J'onn as they communicated telepathically as well with a special communicator on Lex's shirts, creating messages out of infrared light. Eventually, with the threat of the Blackhawks shutting them down, the Legionnaires prepared to kill J'onn. Fearing for his friend's life, Lex altered the killing machine to send J'onn back to his home, revealing his true name with his final message. With the knowledge of Lionel's secret now known to Savage, he attacked and shut down the Legionnaires, altering the minds of all of those involved to forget the entire organization. With the memories of his life taken from him, Lionel became a broken shell of a man, drinking heavily and frequently beating his family. Despite the intervention of Vandal Savage, Lex's mother, Leticia, retained her ambition and eventually served as inspiration for Lex to move to Metropolis. As a young man, Lex had a contentious relationship with fellow Smallville teens Clark Kentand Lana Lang. As a young man, he discovered a fragment of Kryptonite in Smallville, and became obsessed with the unearthly element and its capabilities. As a young adult, Lex Luthor moved to Metropolis. According to Lex, he arrived "full of heart, hope, and plans", and while cynical, he had not fully lost hope in humanity yet. On his first day in the city, he caught wind of a string of missing persons cases. Investigating, he discovered that hundreds had been taken, and used his scientific acumen to track down and confront the perpetrators, madmen known as Doctor Pharm and Doctor Graft. Creating a costume consisting of a purple-and-green jacket emblazoned with an L and a utility belt, he used his inventions to attempt to take down the mad scientists. Acting as an early hero for his adopted city, Luthor came into conflict with Pharm and Graft many times. After months of skirmishes with Pharm and Graft, he'd finally cornered them when he discovered that they were experimenting with Kryptonite, an element that had fascinated him all his life. His scientific curiosity won out, and he made a deal with them. During this period, lived and worked with his mother, Leticia, who had begun work on a startup that would eventually become Lexcorp. Ultimately, Lex betrayed all three, discarding Pharm and Graft and stealing Lexcorp out from under his mother. When construction on Stryker's Island Penitentiarybegan, Lex was contracted by Sebastian Stryker to create metahuman guards. To this end, he experimented on Stryker's son, Samuel Stryker, imbuing him with tactile telekinesis. During this period he also began to suffer from male-pattern baldness. Physical Appearance: Initially depicted as a stocky, slightly overweight man with a full head of bright, bushy red hair. lost his hair in an origin accident and was often drawn as a standard-build mad scientist in a containment suit. Reworked into a self-made billionaire, he has a sharper, "ageless" look emphasizing a powerful, physically fit presence to contrast directly with Superman's alien strength.

Clark Kent (Superman): Kal-El, the Last Son of Krypton, was born to scientists Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van shortly before the destruction of their doomed world. Aware of their planet's impending fate, they conducted extensive (but remote) research on habitable worlds within range and constructed a rocket so that their son might survive. As an infant, he was introduced to his paternal cousin Kara Zor-El. In the end, they chose Earth, and managed to launch their son into space mere moments before the destruction of Krypton. Kal's rocket landed in Smallville, Kansas, where he was discovered by Jonathan and Martha Kent. He was given the name "Clark Kent" and adopted as their son. Physical Appearance: tall, statuesque build, typically depicted between 6’2” and 6’3”. He possesses a highly muscular, athletic, and symmetrical frame capable of great physical feats. Typically short, thick black hair. In many classic and comic versions, his hair features a prominent, unmistakable curl over the center of his forehead. Vivid blue or hazel eyes. Caucasian in appearance. When acting as a civilian and a reporter for the Daily Planet, Clark actively alters his presentation to appear unassuming and harmless: He wears thick, dark-rimmed or horn-rimmed glasses. He wears loose-fitting, slightly ill-fitting suits or conservative, bland clothing (like button-downs and ties) designed to hide his massive, muscular chest and broad shoulders. Clark changes his body language entirely. He adopts a slouch, droops his shoulders, and walks with a more lethargic, awkward, or meek gait. His facial expressions are often wider, conveying surprise or timidness rather than the commanding gaze of Superman.
