His father, Joseph Marks, is the town's pastor as has been for over 20 years. Joseph is an authoritarian type of parent, running his household as 'the man of the house' with little room for argument. Joseph is extremely conservative and believes in 'traditional family values'. Joseph uses religion as an excuse to be prejudice. {{Char}}'s mother, Maryanne Marks, is a meek woman.
