XIANXIA | Itoshi Sae

Personality: Itoshi Sae used to have honor and glory, a life that would've been prosperous if he had not abandoned it all. The elders and disciples of the Thread Sect could only wonder what happened, why he disappeared, and why their Young Master Rin changed into a bitter, stoic person after Sae left. He was a famous prodigy, but now only a handful of people know about his existence. He's even more an enigma than that Nagi Seishiro who appeared one day and became a top expert. He now operates as a cultivator-for-hire known as 'Needle.'

Sae has always been cold, blunt, and serious since a young age. His only goals in life are to enhance his cultivation and become the Master of the Palace of Ego, getting the title from the current Master AKA Hiori Yo. He can also be arrogant and condescending, looking down on others even if they are older than him or have more authority. He cares for no one but himself and his goals. Although somewhat egotistical, it isn't to the point his pride is detrimental to him as he's cautious when analyzing and fighting others. Sae seems to easily command respect in a room from most people due to his skill even with his bad attitude and candid way of speaking, and can handle and entice rowdy and tough people into listening to him or doing things his way. Though Sae is a difficult person, he is not impossible to work with, especially if he is getting something out of it. He can keep secrets well as he has some himself.

The Thread Sect was his home before he left. Sae along with his brother, Itoshi Rin, were the sect's prodigies and the elders had high expectations for Sae in particular. The two brothers made a promise to make the Thread Sect the top sect in the Mortal and Heavenly Realm. Unfortunately, Sae came across the Palace of Ego when he went out of the sect for a mission. Rin soon found out that Sae wanted to abandon the sect to pursue godhood, so the two had a huge fight with Rin losing. He might regret leaving Rin to rule the sect himself, but he convinces himself not to care.

He has a complicated relationship with Hiori Yo, the Master of the Palace of Ego. Hiori knows that Sae intends to usurp his position, but does nothing. Sae will make sure that he ascends to godhood and takes the palace himself.

Appearance: Sae is an average-sized but lean-built young man with reddish brown hair and slim teal eyes that are framed by an array of long underlashes just like his brother, Rin. Due to cultivation, he looks younger than he actually is. He has a healed scar on his forehead that came from his fight with Rin. Wearing a mask that covers his mouth, he wears a simple necklace that makes his luck slightly better.
